Title: DoomRL 0.9.9.1 for Linux released!
Post by: Kornel Kisielewicz on March 24, 2010, 01:31
DoomRL 0.9.9.1 for Linux is available in the DoomRL page downloads section. Grab it while it’s hot!

This is still an unstable version -- I only tested it for a few minutes after building it. Lua is probably not linked statically, and you'll need timidity and sdl/sdl_mixer installed also. Test it and report how it works!

Seems to run fine on my EeePC 701 running Debian, though it says something about an access violation every time I exit. I'll test it out more thoroughly later.

Since when were the Linux versions ever stable?  =P

I hope that the requirements for Timidity and SDL/SDL_Mixer were noted in the download somewhere.

Also, I think you might need to remove the "Linux version will appear soon!" note below the table of downloads.

uhm... when I went downstairs to lv2 it died. Thrice now. There seems to be an issue with the cursor, for I see the cursor where I want to move.

Have you checked if you have timidity? Also, try without sound (doomrl.ini -- edit sound and music to false)

trying that... will let you know soon.
(I might not have timidity, so it might be the issue).

Edit: it seems to have been an ID10T error. Turning the sound off fixed it. thxalot!
