...I must have spent several million rounds of ammo through those 100 levels. Ultra-Violence is the real reason why this Challenge Difficulty is 'Blade'. Just to give you an idea of what I went through here is the screenshot that worked.The arch-vile raises his arms! The former sergeant suddenly rises from the
dead! The cacodemon fires! You are hit! The former captain dies.

And I didn't tele or retreat out of that either. It got to the point on several levels that I had to constantly kill BoHs that were being rezzed by several Arch-Viles until the AVs moved into my line of sight. The hell staff was a blessing. I also early on found an interesting 9d9 melee weapon that was 'to heavy for a human'. Plus...this game put me over the amount needed for Mancubus rank... :D.

This took me over 8 hours over three days to do...and was much, much harder then NTR. Just look at the monster kills to see what I mean. And I wasted 15 minutes making that word in the graveyard :O.And Malek, your armor seems to be a good luck charm for me, every game that I have found it I have won.

I was soooooo close...so close to fulfilling half the Overlord requirements...but...it wasn't fated to be today :(. Malek, I don't suppose when I try this again that I can borrow your armor? :)When I entered the Mortuary, I didn't even realize that it was the Mortuary *red screen from berserk*...ran for my life, but only prolonged the inevitable. Perhaps the most ironic thing about this death is when I entered this level, I was in the room south of the stairs.

I know its very good at keeping itself clean :P I would bet if I could find it on Angel of Pacisifism, that everything would become ridicously easy. But with 3 ToN and the super modded red armor *Of which i had two for awhile*, I didn't really need to use it here. Speed wasn't needed, it was being built like a tank that was. It took around 3-4 hours 'I think, didn't keep count'. I forgot to mention that I started to find advanced weapons alot after the 25 point, sometimes two a level.
As to not using the other uniques...not entirely true. When I found the phaseshift armor, I took one look at the moderate defense and said 'Screw that.'. The necroarmor, well, no. BFG10K was, not my style. But both the Revenant's Launcher and Jackhammer I used a good deal, particularly the latter against groups of monsters, awesome gun.

Odd...apparently setting off that last nuke might have caused me to be 'killed by something'...or it might have been intentional...in any case;
Fun! Very fun...though I was kinda wishing a backpack would suddenly appear out of midair for no reason. The level cap was annoying, but I guess it is necessary to have it. By the way Malek...while your armor is nice and leet, I figured you didn't want someone else wearing it, so I kept it nice and clean and unused.

I got real lucky to make it to the end. Half the time I went down to a new level the stairs were in the room i was in, and from level 17-22 I pretty much was invincible the entire time thanks to the 3 powerups i found. In the two of the earlier levels as well I managed to find levers that flooded the entire level with water, giving me the chance to clear them out completely. I entered the Halls of Carnage for the quick supercharge and the Spiders Lair because the screen was white at the time and I didn't realize that it was the Spiders Lair. CG and PG for life!

You already have the opportunity to get high level combinations of traits and to completely max out any advanced weapon. And easy fun? Is taking the challenge out of a game really fun? You'd be able to collect every trait to the fullest, which would make you able to take just about anything on.
The only way I'd really see your idea work *and probably like it* is if your charcter went on to Deimos Base like he's supposed to...then there's merit there.

I don't like the idea. You'd be able to survive soooo easily with a lv10 charcter who's holding a fully upgraded advanced weapon or a certain melee weapon right off the bat, it'd just take the fun out of it.

« on: August 31, 2007, 13:15 »Addition of #9.Walking around in lava barefoot tends to hurt alot more then if you're wearing a nice pair of boots.
Edit: Also, if boots do work, then what exact effect do they have? I still seem to take damage even with plasteel boots.
