Acid flood, lava flood, targeting...

why not add one more special event like a AoD? not for whole game, but at random level. Everything becomes dark, your vision fades for -1 tile (and restores again on exit to next level), enemies ressurects and you get 2X experience per kill

...well, I see 3 ways:
a) change weights. If you change weight for some item to 0, it never spawn until you direct place that on map
b) for special levels - reusing existent: may be try iterate all items on map and delete/replace unwanted item? If it is not a reward from Agony Elemental or Arena Master but just ordinary item on level like envirosuit or large med-pack. At OnEnter event
c) in documentation I see a level.OnCreate(being/item) event. Looks like place to control everything including special rewards like sculls-Arena staff-lava element ?

why you talk about those rare Jackhammer but not stormbolter pistol? It becomes rapidfire with 2*TH - 4 per burst. And anyone can assemble it. But still PISTOL not "rapidfire", and do not get 1-ammo-per-volley bonus from MAc. All right here? Why you think that Jackhammer must have such a bonus?

at 0.9.9.6 you can't assemble hyperblaster from nuclear plasma. And at 0.9.9.7 too. And you are really can see it on [A]ssemblies page.

And you can't assemble speedloader combat pistol. Only pistol, and that also can be found at assemblies page.

No good assemblies for nuclear plasma, actually.
Assault nuclear plasma use 2 cells per shot.
Burst nuclear plasma have low accuracy.

best way mod it with P- B- S- mods, and A- in some builds.

On N! we have the same ammo.
40 10mm
50 shells
2 small med-packs
shotgun in hands, loaded.

No armor, no pistol, no combat knife. Char level 1, experience 0.

For N!, wave 1:
...demon x3
...lost soul x2
...cacodemons x4
wave 2:
...demon x3
...cacodemons x5
Wave 3:
...barons x2

Problem not 3d wave, problem kill wave2.
...only way for N! here is HR-HR-DM, and try dodge (and maybe cacodemons accidentally kill demons and one another, and we shoot winner at last), right? Is it possible???

SoB-SoB or Rel-Rel-SM not save your life here. For Bru-Bru-Ber too low med-packs, I need at least 2 large and 4-5 small for that. And armor (blue one) + knife can be quite handy...

I hope all know about custom challenges and loading from mod server? Well, they are good for understanding how write own modules (thank for source code) but what about win them?
well, I have some ways for Gold (complete on UV) but it tricky and with RNG favor.
Spoiler: But real (click to show/hide)
Main problem: Lack of ammo. 50 shells for arena not enough even on HMP - no "radar shooting", no even shoots from long distance - seek for enemies, wait for short distance and shoot when close. Past 2nd wave I have about 7 or 8 shells and empty chaingun. On UV I have no ammo (no one shell!) and need run to shells that appears past 2nd wave.
Anybody get Platinum? How? They ressurects, no ammo, no melee weapon - it impossible o_O

Sounds like DoomRL: RPG/Adventure mode.
I like the concept, but when you start bringing up things like "free Brute trait at start", it sounds inconvenient when you want to build something--oh snap I can't because my free Brute at the start of the game just blocked me from getting Cateye or whatever aughaughaughaughaughaugh
Yep, "Adventure mode" good name.
No, no blocks.
If it is a game mode, all addition are intrinsic. So, you can have no Brute but still deal +3 melee damage. We can have a lot of intrinsic abilities, actually. +damage, +sight, +hp, +resist(!) and etc. Without any traits.

Requests For Features / Permanent achievements mode

The idea is :
Add a new game mode. Some of medals and badges add permanent effect for every new game you start.
It not count as a challenge or "standart" game for another unopened medals or badges but a different game mode just for fun and relaxing. But assemblies opened here adds to list, monster kills, rare and unique items found counts at player stats and you can achieve any of medals that you already have.
So, the achievements not only "words", but give us some new abilities, and we can hunt for those Platinum and Diamond badges not only for "Hey, I'm cool!" but for himself and that relax mode.

Fallout Platinum Cross give you a free nuke in inventory on each start. ..."You are so mad that steal one when go Phobos"
(Grammaton Cleric Cross) AND (Armorer Gold Badge) grants you combat pistol at start instead of ordinary.
Gambler's Shield grants ability know lever danger state (as first Intuition trait)
(UAC Diamond Badge) AND (Compet-n Platinum Cross) give you additional +10% speed for all actions (like Scout bonus, but Scouts get actually 20%!)
(Longinus Diamond Badge) OR (Strongman Diamond Badge) give you +3 melee damage (as Brute trait) for free - you are trained in martial arts, man!
Technician Diamond Badge give you any of mod-packs (1 of each type including nano-onyx-sniper..) at start.
Iron Skull grants +1 armor for free - your skin hardens!
(Demonic Diamond Badge) OR (Destroyer Diamond Badge) give you additional intrinsic +10% dodge chance
Hunter Diamond Badge give +1 sight range - wandering in darkness train your vision
and so on. If you have all medals/badges... you become unstoppable :)

It must be separate game mode, not combined with Angels. You can start new game - and play with classic rules. Or can start this mode - and just relax if you have a lot of achievements... Or train your baby :D
The fact is I can try create custom mod for it... but custom game achievements not count at stats, and still no stimulus for getting badges (other then for sign "26/26/26/26" ;))

durability: just press TAB in inventory and look to item
tomes: what? it's not a Diablo2, just Diablo-1 v. 0.5. No tomes for scrolls here!
sound: you need original Diablo and change config.lua adding path to .mpq

rogue can't detect traps for now... And I do not see traps in game, maybe not implemented yet?

as for me my last runs skip
- Hell Arena completely or only last wave on Arena. No a medal for Arena, no reward, but killing cacodemons easy then hell knights/barons in last wave. And exp still quite good from 2 waves. And CC without Master more safe.
- last chamber at Deimos Lab (if no good equipment). 2 Shamblers too dangerous.
- Containment Area sometimes. Really I prefer The Wall!
- UC if non-melee build.
- Spiders Lair. Too hard sometimes and revard not so good
- Mortuary/Limbo if no good armor, sculls and B2 modded BFG.
- LavaPits/Erebus if no nuke and no boots with 100% resist fire. At this moment some more experience not vital.

but I play on HMP.

Is Hall of Carnage flood speed difficulty-dependent? Reach stairs at last moment. Usually no problems was here...

I'm add a 10 or 12 dead marines to my mortems trying complete AoB at HMP. Well, it was easy in 0.9.9.6 but now... Well, I think "I need more experience! More kills, more mod packs!" and start UV game.

Hardest part was Hell Arena (near to death) and Military base (damn, who give a napalm launchers to elite commandos???). I lure Master to door at Chained Court and rip him - tricky but real.
At Deimos Lab most dangerous was not a shamblers but revenants. Shamblers die quick and I got onyx+nano

Before Babel I found power mods for cybernano armor, and life become much more easy.
Mortuary was not "hard" but boring. Most dangerous monsters not a mancubi but commandos with their deadly plasmaguns. Mancubi actually our friends - they gib corpses! But I used about 8 large medikits and 4 Supercharge globes here...
Having Enviroboots and cerberus boots Mt.Erebus was not so hard.
