Ahhh... I admit, I only skimmed the section of the bug forums dating back to .3. Sorry!

Well, yes, the -1 and the decreased movement speed is the assembly effect. I was somewhat surprised to see it locked at 1 though, instead of 0 [which would be present-1] or 3 [which fits the 'original-1' listed on the wiki].

I came across a few extra power mods and, without any more pressing use, I figured it might be worthwhile to convert one of my extra red armors to it so, on the offchance that my other armors get trashed, I still have that to fall back on.
Well-- doing it when the armor was at 1% may not have been the brightest move:
Armor : nanofiber red armor [1]
Do people think this is a bug, or intended to work this way since, well, the armor was pretty beaten up before it was made invulnerable...

Darn it. I was just about to post a screenshot of an identical situation to the river of lava except on acid. Ah well.

It kind of depresses me how many of them need the unique mods and, by extension, how rarely you'll ever get to play with them.
I've been using the tactical rocket launcher and assault rifle combos most.

DiabloRL / 0.4.5 Rogue of Iron YAVP
« on: November 24, 2010, 20:27 »
Bought a robe and skullcap in town for 100. Proceeded to jump right in and clear all the floors, ignoring barrels, opening all sarcophagi, stands, altars, etc. Didn't bother picking up gold-- why bother in Iron?
Got a shortbow[?] of quality [+2dam] on the first floor which served me well until the fourth floor, where durability was running low. Thankfully, found a bow of plenty before my shortbow broke, so I switched over to that. Accidentally spent almost all of floor 3/4 naked-- didn't notice what the low/critical armor icon was until I found leather armor on the 4th floor and noticed I had nothing on. Didn't need much in the way of items, to be honest...
No butcher, sadly. Wanted revenge for my first three characters, two warriors and a mage. Got the Gharbad and Snotspill quests. Also the purify-the-water one and the magic rock.
Battles were all pretty easy, with the exception of a giant swarm of archers. Dealt with that by walking out, firing a shot or two, hiding behind a wall, popping healing magic, repeat.
Stat development was pure dex until my to-hit was ~80%, then I started pumping vit.

Thoughts and comments:
Inventory is kind of annoying, though sort of how it works in Diablo. Would prefer an easier way to compare current equipment to inventory equipment and a way to drop items without leaving the screen.
The amount of blue items with negative effects seems to be unusually high. (Though, thankfully, we don't have the annoying gray drops...)
Can we have the DoomRL-style targeting system, where we can see the path of travel for ranged attacks? Kept accidentally shooting walls/doors.
Just as I remembered from the actual Diablo, the chatter feels like it moves at a glacial pace... maybe cancelling out once could display it in full, then a second press to exit?
And: much as I criticize [something that drives my family mad...], it's tremendously entertaining! Here's hoping the next release comes more quickly than this one! =P

Discussion / Re: Hidden nook on map?
« on: April 27, 2010, 11:15 »
Hum. I thought briefly about screenshotting it but didn't. Whoops. ^^;; [And doubly so for the AoMr snafu; I think of it as a 'Mark' run myself and thusly botched the shorthand. Apologies.]
I thought the floor was rather strange because it was embedded in the far right wall. Normal floors, at least in my experience, typically have a wall 1-thick that acts as a boundary for the entire floor whereas this one had walls, going clockwise from the top, 1-4-1-3 units thick. The only gap in the otherwise entirely solid wall was in the lower right, where there was a small section that was like:
####
## #
# #
## #
####
I haven't seen any anomalies like that and it was an ordinary "Maze of Rooms" type. It seemed like this cluster was intentionally sealed off, given the shape and location. However, a computer map [which was the only reason why I noticed it] indicated no items in there which made it seem even stranger...

Discussion / Hidden nook on map?
« on: April 27, 2010, 10:04 »
So I grabbed a map on L10 and noticed an interesting spot on the map in the wall that looks like the T-tetrad from Tetris hidden in the right wall. In addition, the walls on both the left and right side are unusually thick, at being 3/4 blocks wide. Unfortunately, I can't blow it open, being in AoM.
Is there usually something tucked in there that doesn't show up on the map? O_o
