 on level 18 of the Phobos base.

 He wasn't afraid to be hurt plenty.

 He killed 455 out of 455 hellspawn. (100%)
 This ass-kicking marine killed all of them!
 He was an Angel of Shotgunnery!

 And 19 couldn't handle the stress and committed a stupid suicide.

So. Ahem.
My Nameless Doomguy started quite good. Some levels after Arena he got onyx armor.
"Hey, B! Come here. Yes, you! And die! Dah-dah-dah-dah-daiye! Oh. Exotic armor. Perhaps, it was phaseshift one, too weak for gothic... What? Not damaged? Oh, I've forgotten about onyx!.. My precious!"
Woo-hoo! Throw out all these green and blue ones! Same period bulk mod was found, and I set it on double shotty (because after getting Shottyman combat shotgun capacity isn't necessary anymore). And then - plenty of mods! Next was power mod. It was set on onyx armor immediately. Bye-bye for you too, red armors!

Level 9. Grammaton Cleric Beretta. "Why should I need thing that uses these littile bullets? Throw it out!"

Level 10. Onyx Armor Pack! "So what? I've already got unbreakable armor... Well, I'll leave it for gothic or (I wonder) Cybernetic..."

Hell's Armoury: "There is something really valuable here! Maybe, this time it's more useful... A-a-and... Trigun? Pistol again?? 3 pistols versus lonely Jackhammer?!. It's just not fair! Well, at least I can do epic boom."

Then was found second onyx armor and agility mod was added to it. Run'n'shoot, y'know.

Level 15 or 16. Risked a bit, coming to kill some mancubi. But reward was good - nuke!

But it turned to be that medpacks became rare this time. Damn it.

Level 18. "To the west! No, there's A. To the south! Oh no, it's h!.. Well, screw this all. Cutting red wire... Success! Oh, hello, B. And godbye. Let there be bang!.."

At the last second I tried to use Angel Arm, just for fun. But it was too late.

Also, during the run I saw minigun and get Invulnerability at arachno cave. Can't remember when.

Anyway, it was epic.

*Tragic tone on.*
Now, somewhere in the depths of Phobos Hell, there is empty room, with nothing inside, except of two onyx armors (now black from explosion), Trigun and Onyx Armor Pack at the little cloud of nuclear dust. Requiescat in pace, Nameless.

An early onyx is a great find and, for sure, power modding is the best way to go. It's a shame you were going MAD, though, because WK is a beautiful thing when you have the right equipment to mod. (Personally, I would have worked toward MFa at this point as, thankfully, TaN doesn't block it.)

Again, WK modding would have done wonders with this. In fact, if we care to split hairs, an onyx-modded red armor is sliiiightly better than a power-modded onyx armor (same durability/defense/knockback, but for movespeed red has -20% and onyx has -25%). At THIS point, I figure the game was trying to tell me something and I would have dropped master traits altogether while heading for WK.

Indeed, those are the kinds of situations you don't want to deal with when playing MAD. There is an emergency button, however, in the form of running, which can often be used for a speedy getaway to...basically anywhere without monsters. On HMP, where enemies only have +1-to-hit, it should still be enough to avoid a lot of damage, but (as always) sidestepping takes the biggest priority.

At the last second I tried to use Angel Arm, just for fun. But it was too late.
Just an FYI (as many people don't know until they've tried), Angel Arm is an instant effect. If you don't know what it DOES, just know that there's no charge-up or anything.

Gotta say, though, two unique pistols in AoSg is a real kick in the teeth. Onyx armor/mod balances it out nicely, but man, if this had been AoMr you would have been set.
