Title: Going Down?

Newbie question: If you go to a special level, do you skip the next floor down, or do you just sidestep into the secret level and then sidestep back after?

E.G., I enter the chained court at level 5. Do I end up in level 7 after exiting it?

You sidestep. If you enter the Chained Court at level 5 the next level will be 6.
