I've never tried to write anything serious, I can only admit to writing 4 StarWars relates songs (well, text only), but only 1 in English and all jocular. ;)

"Techno-killers" such as Doom sadly have no room for poetry, but for example cRPG games set in fantasy worlds, such as Oblivion you've picked already, could benefit greatly from poems like yours. I would love to buy a book in-game and find some ancient elven poems - better than reading world history in e.g. Baldur's Gate.

City of Skulls is actually better suited for shotguns.
Yup, when I realized that I'm going to be swarmed from all directions, I knew I need some area-damage weapon - it was wiser to retreat, so no need to feel embarrassed about that.

Wow, I actually had enough luck to beat this darned game :) using my fav challenge - (I just love pistols, only the chaingun do I love more - oh, and I name characters according to a challenge, so pistol names for AoMr). Last time I recall doing it was with some savescumming, but this time I was clean, apart from the fact that it crashed twice and I continued from recovery savegames (so I actually cleared 2 more levels).

I have a major issue getting used to the new tactics - in fact the only time I was running was when dueling with Cybie! I'm sorry, but old habits die hard.

As you can see my weapon sucked - monsters laughed at my pistol, and this gave me the chance to shoot them by surprise (LOL, but true: I found monsters often not reacting fast enough to my actions, as if they couldn't see me?).

I only managed to get this far thanks to a lucky stroke. Despite having no fancy items (1 pair of boots doesn't count), by the time I found Cybie I had half of my backpack full of large medkits. He hit me only twice. And what's best - I found Invulnerability at lv23, went down to lv24 only to find downstairs close by! So I managed to wound Cybie while still being immune to his rockets! Talking about luck...

Or get this - my armor is torn to shreds, there's Archvile and Arachnotron coming after me (only few spaces away), but... there's megasphere two spaces away! I took the initial beating only to get almost fully repaired/healed and then fed them with lead.

Or there's still a wounded Baron of Hell after me, I'm wounded too and... with no ammo! I'm retreating to a supercharge, he hits me, but... the explosion kills him too! I somehow managed to find few bullets afterwards...

Or imagine my terror when I opened the room only to find it full of enemies... and Archvile in the center! But there was a barrel too! xD

Does triggerhappy give me another round of fire from my both pistols? (4 shots?) There's no entry in the Wiki...

Normally this shouldn't be a big problem in later game, but he went down just to lv2! No chance to get boots beforehand. Maybe the code should limit such instances in very early game, where you have no chance of wading the lava alive.

Did you clear your browser's cache after each d/l attempt? If not maybe each time you saved the same unfinished/corrupted file. I report no such problems.

Angel of Marksmanship

I pressed PrintScreen to capture this after the crash, so some characters may be wrong.

I was walking towards the exit, so the crash occurred on normal floor (perhaps there was an item? I was walking fast, ya know). I run out of berserk few turns before.

Not many proggies running in the background - Azureus, NortonAV and basically that's it. P4 @ 2.6GHz, 512MB RAM, GeForce5600Ultra @ ForceWare163.75. You may laugh, but my irrational hunch ties this error with sound system.

Too bad, because all my previous games in the new version ended abruptly (I find the game harder since the new tactis system, wrote to you about this) and I was already on my way to lv13...

after pressing Enter I got this (pay no attention to wrongly displayed characters - it's the copy&paste fault) & the program stopped responding.

UPDATE2: oh damn, not again!

It loaded savegame (I was beginning new lv12 from scratch) and after I fired second salvo at pain elemental the game bombed again. This time the sound looped (in a stuttering way).

Note the same error codes. I did not reset my system beforehand.

Yeah, but let's be frank: who's gonna play it apart from Blade? How many people out of the bunch who regularly play DoomRL? If Blade wasn't a privileged user and an expert DoomRL player I doubt you'd waste your coding time on this.
Challenge modes should not only be challenging (ie: difficult to complete) but also entertaining. This is not Pontifex, Transport Tycoon or SimCity, I want to kill things, even if they look like ordinary colored letters! Such challenge would be fun for, let's say, one special game level, but I won't be wasting my time attempting to complete the whole game while not killing anything.

If I may add something about the teleporters, there were also a maze-like designs of tight corridors with teleporters on dead ends - you had to memorize which pad leads where in order to get out of the maze (or to find a secret room).

While many of the challenge ideas sound more like a forum joke (Angel of Pacifism - what fun is to launch a shooter-game and NOT shoot any monsters?) I really like the idea of Angel of Vampirism. With careful ballancing the awarded HP-gain per monster (the badder they are, the more you get healed) this could be actually playable and fun.
