--------------------------------------------------------------

"Iosa the Invincible" is from Iji and I borrowed her name for good luck. Since I beat AoB for the first time this run, it appears to have worked. =D

Since I couldn't rely on being handed a lot of "kill everything" levels early on this time, I made up for it by hurling a lot of knives at barrels, which sort of solved my whiny "Fucking shotguns!" issue. Since the first few levels have more knives than you'll ever need, it's relatively simple to spend the first couple of floors throwing knives around corners to scout or luring imps into explosive traps. Not as effective as a shotgun or pistol, but still managed to make things a little easier. Using barrels to make alternate passages when a computer map shows where the exit is was also pretty important for skipping what sounded like a monster block party on level 4.

I was actually pretty worried after the Chained Court, because I didn't see a lot of health packs, and I'm used to them taking up nearly half my inventory. I had loads of armor to make up for it, kinda, and managed to avoid ridiculous things like trying to slug it out with Barons without 'zerk or being caught near a shotgun squad. Though I had a real bad moment two or three levels after the Court when I spawned inside a vault full of Cacos. Like nine of the bastards. I don't rightly recall how I survived that, but luckily I did.

I thought I cleared out the Armory, though apparently I missed someone. I was tempted to hurl the Trigun in the lava, but kept it for repeatable nuking purposes (Never actually used it; I was provided handy portable nukes for my destructive purposes). I did chuck that useless BFG into the lava river at the Halls of Carnage, though. I think tossing useless uniques/exotics into lava is an excellent way to spite the game and it's insulting offerings of firearms to berserkers. I actually forgot to do that for the Beretta as I was a tetch preoccupied by sudden Baron pubcrawlers, but I intended to.

I nuked level 13 because I found a thermonuclear bomb and because I damn well could. And while it says I nuked level 17, I actually nuked the City of Skulls with another portable bomb, mostly because it was funny. I probably could have used the level to put myself into berserk forever and let vampyre keep me alive, now that I think about it, but destroying the city with the power of the atom was too good to pass up.

I played more conservative toward the end to avoid my fate from the last game, though I managed to kill more mancubi and viles this time (Whee 'zerk speed!), and on level 16 I found the Onyx Armor just before hitting the Cathedral, which I powermodded and happily wore for the rest of the game.

I didn't quite kill everything on the last 10 floors, but I killed as much as I could manage, and actually didn't need to heal up too often. Berserker+Vampyre turned all those little mobs of early enemies into healing orbs with laughable guns, and the guys with plasma didn't spawn often enough to cut through the gobs of armor that made the chaingun and shotgun guys safe to take out. I avoided wading in to lava, but it didn't quite become as bad enough to stop me from exploring most of the final levels, and I got kinda paranoid about barrels toward the end since a shotgunner and a napalm barrel are what ruined my last attempt. But for the most part I killed whatever got in my way.

I homing phase'd on level 9, but explored a bit around the exit and killed a few barons, a vile, and a mancubus. Then I went into Cybie's little den and used another one for giggly experimental purposes, and managed to end up relatively close to the guy. He hit me with one rocket, then we traded blows until he died. I didn't go berserk, but I didn't need to heal either. The lance kinda wrecks him, doesn't it?

Anyway, my first winning AoB, I can move on to other medals and whatnot.

0.9.9.2 / [M|AoB|92%|18|YASD] Berserker Diary
« on: March 29, 2011, 05:02 »
I decided to do a AoB run and make solid notes about what I was doing, so that when I died I'd have a good record of what the run was like, what was working, and what I needed to do to stop getting pounded to death. I actually got farther than I'd ever gotten before on AoB; probably because I was thinking about what I should be doing while I was taking those notes. I still managed to screw it up, but it was a good experience.

Warning to those short on patience; this review is a tetch long.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Level 1 involved giftdropping a small medpack and killing everyone that comes to take it. Probably standard operating procedure for these sorts of runs, I guess. I wasn't about to lose half my health and armor to the first asshole with a shotgun.

Level 2 had a "kill everything" lever, which was pretty cool. None of this dicking around with sergeants blindsiding me as I turn a corner, or imp crossfires, just a flip of a switch and I gain a new trait. Apparently this level also had a Vault, which had a phase pack in it. Emergency retreat get! There was also a Berserk next to the exit, so I got to start Level 3 in a rage.

Level 3 was an Arena. God dammit. I managed to kill a few imps and a Former while still screaming about blood, but a pair of sergeants chewed on me afterward, which was rotten. My gift armor ran out and I had to switch to a green set. The Hell's Arena exit was in here, but I passed it up; I love the Arena Staff, but I've got no goddamn clue how to deal with the Arena armed with only a set of knives.

Level 4-5 was mostly boring, and then the Chained Court involved EVERYTHING dying. I used berserk packs to run through lava and make pumpkin pie, as I figured I'd need the EXP. Left me a little bent health-wise, but I got a berserk pack near the beginning of level 6 so that took most of the sting off.

Level 7 was another goddamn arena. Hate. Only one shotgunner, though, so I manage to kill everyone here, and it had a large healthpack for my collection and some red armor, yay! Also, isn't the Berserk Trait only supposed to work if someone else is in view after the attack? Because I seem to pretty reliably hit berserk after the last kill of the level. It's somewhat annoying.

I'm officially farther than I've every gotten in AoB before at this point.

Level 8 has another "kill everyone" lever, which actually manages to not kill everyone, the only survivor is a single demon. Also a power mod and a bulk mod; power goes on a red armor, and bulk make my chainsaw saw harder.

Level 9 is a fucking caco cave. Since there's not a lot of good cover, the area has a lot of acid, and there's no useful items on the right side of the cave (according to the computer map), I pass up on killing them all. First time I left a level without killing everything this run.

Level 10 is a maze, and I zerk off a stunned imp at the start. Very good, because around the corner was a hell knight. From here I manage to trip into killing everything mostly by accident; timely zerks and a trio of imps that all got killed by a single other imp that was throwing fireballs at me (Or at least I think that's what happened, since they were all dead when I found a path around the acid. A chaingunner might have gotten them, though), and a lot of demons that managed to appear just in time to give me a zerk boost. Also, a super shotgun! I admired the workmanship, found a pool of lava, and tossed it in, mostly out of spite for the RNG.

Level 11 was another arena. A caco was nice enough to kill a lot of the formers between me and him, making my job a lot easier, but this level involved a lot of guys with shotguns and malicious intentions.

Level 12 started on the right foot by throwing me at a Captain. Fuck. I tried gift dropping some green armor in a door, but the cheapskate ignored it and opened a door for some cacos. I managed to kill them by dancing and hit the Captain in the next room without him filling me with fire. Past that was every fucking body, a giant pile of imps, demons, and another caco. I spent a good chunk of my health tearing through them, as unfortunately there wasn't another path and they had no intention of leaving the area (it was near the center). I didn't even zerk, dammit. There was an armor up and an invulnerability near the exit, though, so I can forgive.

Level 13 starts with a Baron in the same room. Thankfully invulerability trumps all and he gave me a zerk boost for my trouble, and I killed a few other beasties before it all wore out. A bit later I found a giant pile, including a Pain Elemental and an Arachnotron. I killed the spider before it could shoot me and then the Elemental, but it left behind something like 10 goddamn Souls. An imp tried to help me by shooting a nearby napalm barrel, which cleared a chunk out along with a bit of health; then I bolted through a door so I could take them one-by-one, and resolved not to try the City of Skulls this run. At this point I got Badass, which was cool because the level had a supercharge. I also thanked the imp in the traditional manner, by gutting him from crotch-to-throat with my chainsaw.

I hopped into the Halls of Carnage for the door prizes, as I figured at this point the sergants shouldn't be an issue. Besides, I was supercharged, so why the hell not? I chainsawed through the locked doors and killed everything on the far side in a red rage, and claimed my BFG. Then I waded out into the central lava river and threw it in before leaving.

Level 14 took the winds out of my sails by tossing me at a Reverant, a Captain, and a Baron all in turn. Apparently the game gets testy when I throw the prizes in lava moats. The rest of the level was nothing but demons though, which aren't really a problem at this point.

Hellgate was an issue. Usually I open up by killing most of the crowd with the Arena Master's staff and gunning down the rest with my biggest guns. This time I had no staff or guns. This time I grabbed a large health for the zerk and launched out... at which point the zerk wore off after I killed the first Lost Soul, making it SO very pointless. I used a large pack and basically hit whatever was biggest and adjacent until I zerk'd again and was able to finish most of the group off. Then I went back for the second large orb, since there was two cacos left AND I was sort of half-dead and armorless. After that I charged the Bruisers on run, zerk'd on the first hit, and killed them before it ran out. Also, hit Vampire, so I guess I was in good shape.

Hell dropped me in with an arachnotron, and I hit him up before the "deer in headlights" effect gave him back his legs. I spent most of the level looking for the Cathedral (I hear there's a spear involved or something, supposed to be nifty), and kinda freaking out at the mancubus noises I kept hearing. Turns out it wasn't an issue, the fucker runs for his life without firing a shot if you charge him while zerk'd. I heard a few more imps and souls running about, but since I'd already skipped some baddies and had found the Cathedral exit, I figured it was safer to move on.

In the Unholy Cathedral, I was worried about the giant pile of souls and demons I had to carve through, until I noticed I was gaining more life than I was losing, especially while zerking. Goddamn vampire is useful. Zerk wore off right as I got in striking range of the Angel, but it kicked in again after a couple of hits and I went from losing 30%-40% of my health per hit to losing like 2%, which was kinda nutty. I grabbed the Longinus Spear, my prize, and admired it for a bit. Then I waded out into the lava and... just kidding, I put that shit right into my equipped slot and headed for the exit.

Level 17 is an arachnotron cave! I carved up the welcoming spider before it moved and hoofed it to the exit. Better safe than sorry; I was mostly kit up equipment-wise, level 8, had the spear in hand, and wasn't going to fuck this up to squish some spiders.

Except that's exactly what I did next. In level 18, I met a pile of formers in various flavors, and managed to get killed by a sergeant with an exploding barrel while chasing a caco while berserked. I overestimated how durable I was with red and zerk, and didn't notice the barrel under all the red coloring. This is doubly ridiculous because I had plenty of medpacks; I could have spared one before I set off to stab things, but I didn't since my health didn't seem to be in the danger zone, particularly not from a Former with a shotgun.

Next time, I'll have to pay more goddamn attention, and not let all the blood red madness keep me from noting where the barrels are at.

Shit we learned:
~ Pay fucking attention. It's probably not a coincidence that the first time I bust out the notepad and start writing out everything I'm doing is the first time I get so far on AoB. And it's definately not a coincidence that I died when I stopped thinking and started chasing. "AHAHAHA MEAT" is not a substitute for taking stock of the situation.

~ Enemies seem to be stunned or something when you first enter the level. I'd noticed this before, but it really hit home during this playthrough. Even without running, sometimes I could cross a small room and go upside someone's head before they'd react, which was often enough time to bolt for an exit in bad situations or to kill single enemies, or at one point do both: kill something in my way while I haul ass for cover.

~ Berserker and chainsaws make melee piles tolerable, though not necessarily healthy. A horde of lost souls or demons can be dealt with if you go zerk soon enough, though it seems risky. It does mean the Hellgate is safer than I was expecting.

~ Vampyre... I'm not so sure about it's usefulness. Not knocking it, but it seemed Badass and Berserker were what really kept my engine running. I'll probably go with it next time anyhow, if only because the Cathedral seemed to be all about handing me loads of health via vampire, but I'm wondering if I would have been better served with another trait.

~ Charging at mancubi = easy kill? The blubberbutt was pretty slow and more interested in putting distance between us than peppering my face with rockets. I only found one, but it turned out pretty well. It might depend on whether you can meet him up close before he starts his volleys. It'd be nice to know how other people deal with them on AoB, aside from the generally non-helpful "run away" notice. I get that "run for it" is easier way, but sometimes there's not any other choice but to deal with them, so how's the best way to actually do it? Is a screaming charge actually a good option, or was I just getting lucky?

~ I actually managed to avoid taking good notes on 4 and 5. And level 2 was basically "flip the switch to win", which means I have all of crap to examine from my early game. Which is sort of a problem since early on is usually when my AoB runs end; shotguns in rooms I can't go around, cutting me to ribbons. Some idea on how better to deal with the early stages would be helpful. Particularly dudes with shotguns. Yes, I know, "avoid them", how goddamn unhelpful is that? It's not even usually an option to go around them until later level types, at which point you've got armor and health to deal with it. How do I manage them when they're still sitting in rooms that I can't get around? I don't have a load of experience and familiarity with their AI, so some tips on them would be helpful.

~ I found a lot of mods. I typically trip over a lot of mods between Level 8 and the Hellgate. I'm wondering if Whizkid would be worth looking at. Then again, Longinus kicks the crap out any chainsaw no matter how well-modded, and the armor assemblies above basic all require Nano, which I'm not likely to trip over. And even without Whizkid, nano can make Power Armor. It'd probably be more useful in making a melee secondary for a game that uses melee but isn't exclusively so, I'm guessing. Or you crazies that do Ao100 with just melee.

Any comments? Advice for the poor not-quite-berserker?

Bunkerbuster
Melee
Damage: 6d6
Ammo: Rockets
Clip: Single shot

Info:
A heavy melee weapon that uses rockets as ammo and does about the same damage as a rocket launcher (6d6), including the whole "explosion" thing and Fire damage. The shockwave shouldn't hurt the player (Maybe?)

The benefits are that you can deal with crowds by punching them with a point-blank rocket, and with this you can go through walls like the goddamn Kool-Aid Man. The drawbacks are that it's obviously ammo-based whereas other melee weapons are not, and the knockback from the explosion isn't something you generally want happening in melee games.

A utility for melee characters to deal with crowds and walls, but not a replacement for the chainsaw. But it would be hilarious to shove a rocket up the hindquarters of a Baron while berserk'd. Give his colon a good, fire-y cleansing with pure rage.

Before him 46 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
 42 of those were killed.
1 of those was killed by something unknown.

Some rumours though, say that the Cyberdemon was killed already!
Is he immortal? 1 souls claim to have killed him...
1 killed the bastard and survived.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Since my first win was largely thanks to shotgun shenanigans with some rockets for flavor, I figured Angel of Shotgun was my best bet for my first Angel win. I never quite had the ammo problem I was expecting to have, but maybe that's just because I haven't done higher difficulties yet.

The Jackhammer was my prize at the Armory, at which point things stopped being able to fight me effectively. Hurling monsters across the area is fun! At one point I actually spawned in a small room with a Revenant, a Mancubus, and a pair of demons. I killed the lot of them before they managed to so much as twitch with my Jackhammer. I had a couple of other situations like that, such as large an angry things sitting outside the spawn building in a Hellcity, all solved through liberal application of Jackhammer to the offending mob.

I used a trio of homing devices to skip over the last three levels before Cybie's Hidey Hole, since while I was doing well, I didn't want to have to worry about yet another round of spawning in the middle of a monster hoedown and my luck running out. Considering two of those included an Arena and an Arachnotron Cave, I figure it was best not to risk it.

Jackhammers and homing phase widgets, yay!

112
Some of these probably have already been suggested, but I don't really want to wade through 33 pages to find out.

Sounds fine in my head
Angel of Memory:
Simple. The screen does not display anything outside your immediate view. When you wander into the next room, the area you've walked through doesn't become dim, it goes black entirely. If you can't see it from where you stand, it's not displayed at all. Computer maps make walls and whatnot display, but wouldn't display items or the stairs. Find them yourself.

Angel of Iron:
Instead of having your pick of traits, your MaxHP rises as if you had taken Ironman when you level up. Your maximal HP will skyrocket, but you have to learn how to use weapons effectively without so much as Eagle Eye to cover their weaknesses.

Angel of Chance:
Level exits only spawn after flipping a switch. Every non-special level has at least one, obviously. Levels with more than one basically force you to prepare for the worst. Switches should probably be spawned more often to go with it; if there's only one switch on the level, it's obviously the one you want. Early on this wouldn't be too bad, but later in the game the fact that you have to find the right switch, survive any wrong switches, AND find the level exit afterward means it'll be very hard to do controlled dives near the endgame.

Blocks Gambler's Shield, obviously. And should probably not spawn nigh-gamestopper switches (like the "everywhere is lava!" thing) though that might be balanced out by also removing the "kill all badguys" switches too. Homing Phase would need to change behavior (Or just not spawn); it could teleport one to the exit switch if the exit isn't already spawned, or maybe it just acts as a regular phase device if the exit isn't around.

Probably retarded:
Angel of Vile:
You have Arch-Vile powers. Alt-firing with empty hands (No weapon selected) lets you use the Archvile's magical fireblast of doom. The problem is that anything killed with fireblasts results in destroyed loot. Also, corpses in your view randomly respawn.

Angel of the Warp:
Changing tactics does not cause you to run, but instead acts as a phase device and tires you out. In your former place, a random demon is spawned (Not a former human). Phase devices used by anyone have the same effect; a former human using a phase device will warp across the map, and a Hell Knight or something worse will arrive where it left from. And for whatever reason, an inordinate number of monsters are carrying phase devices. Phase out of a bad situation if you need, but beware the Mancubus that spawned in your place.

Angel of Hell:
You are a Hell Knight; you cannot use regular weaponry, but you have a built-in plasma launcher and a mean right hook. No traits, but at level 6 you mature into a Baron of Hell (Armor/Health upgrades, improved natural weapons). Demonstrate that you are the baddest monster in Hell by destroying the Cyberdemon yourself.

Lack of weapons are made up for by the natural weaponry they have, though it lacks a certain punch later and can't be modded. Armor works as normal, on top of their natural armor. Probably should have limited inventory (Where you gonna carry that crap? Your naked hide?). The early game will be a slaughterfest as you mow through Former Humans, but later monsters won't take your shit and you don't have the firepower or special traits to force the issue; that plasma/acid cannon isn't anywhere near as effective as a rocket, to say nothing of a BFG.

Would probably be an awfully gimmicky thing, though.

0.9.9.2 / Re: [M|88%|YAVP] God Bless the Mortuary
« on: March 25, 2011, 16:48 »
For some reason a lot of people expect some kind of insta-death going into Mortuary, but it's not nearly as hard as that. You need to be well-prepared going in, but that and a little tactical foresight makes it pretty simple to clean up. HNTR only has five Viles, and you won't be seeing commandos or Mancubi (thank goodness there are never Revs). Also, shame you couldn't build Power Armor, that would've been SWEETness.
I wasn't really "prepared" in the normal sense; my stocks were vastly overbalanced toward offense. I had more than enough liquid hate to shoot at everything, but no spare armor and very little on-demand health. The powerups at the entrypoint helped, but after that got blasted to pieces I basically stood in the center of the level and breathed rockets at everyone that walked into my field of view, and hoped that what little health/armor I had would hold out. It did, barely, and the magical mortuary prizes were pretty good for refilling my depleted stocks. I was probably lucky the Viles were more aggressive or at least more interested in getting near me than hanging out in the background reviving critters, or I might not have had enough crap in my pockets to keep myself alive.

And sadly, no spare powermods toward the end. I was tripping over mods everywhere for a while, I kinda wish I'd kept one even after my equipment was set up.

That second level was (most coincidentally) the Lava Pits, which would've meant even MORE lava you wouldn't have been able to cross.
Yeah, I don't know how I would have hoped to deal with that. It looks like you have to horde enviroment packs for the entire game or something to clear that level out.

That people ditch uniques is, in my opinion, an issue that needs to be resolved in some way. There should be only one reason to not pick up and use a unique: you already have something better (unlikely but possible). It always bothers me to find a unique that I'm not going to use, when it's already so rare to find a unique in the first place.
Yeah, it was sort of sad to have to leave behind such a nice piece of equipment, but my build and inventory were just not going to be able to use it, and I needed that inventory slot a lot more than I needed souvenirs. I'm not sure how random unique spawning could be expected to give you something that would always fit your character, though. Uniques are ultimately still part of the same basic weapon categories and the game does not reward people that refuse to specialize, so there's bound to be things that spawn that you can't really use effectively. That nuclear plasma cannon I was carting around was nice for saving ammo, but my trusty missile launcher was a far more effective "heavy" weapon.

Anyway, congratulations on the first victory, and best of luck in completing many more!
Thank yew, maybe next time I'll get a AoMr run that doesn't end up with me dead around level 20. I always seem to lose steam around there.

 27 of those were killed.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I haven't played DoomRL in about a year, but I started again last week, and had mostly been getting myself killed in embarrassing ways before level 5. I haven't beaten it before, though I came embarrassingly close way back when I first played it (The mortem is probably still here, buried). This time I finished the Cyberdemon with ammo and health to spare.

Highlights:
I was fucked about twice. The Wall early on basically cleaned out all my rockets, all my spare health, and my armor. It was a tense couple of levels slinking around and running from spooky noises before I got in fighting shape again. Then around level 20 I was running on fumes, and I basically ran into the Mortuary to escape being surrounded by Barons, a Vile and a Mancubus.

The Mortuary basically saved my game; I went in with plenty of spare energy cells and two BFGs but only beaten-up Medical Powerarmor and something like 2-3 large health packs, and since I'd never done the Mortuary before I was expecting to be mobbed from all sides and killed (At least it would be a good way to die, crushed under a mountain of demons). But somehow I managed to kill the Viles with the BFGs and finished the rest of the revived monsters with my missile launcher. With all the random loot from the Mortuary, the assault shotgun, the nuke BFG, piles of ammo, a gift package of large healthpacks, and the goddamn Angelic Armor, I was basically set up for the rest of the game. When the Angelic Armor got beat up, I swapped to the Red with Nano that I picked up just before the last level. I wasn't paying a lot of attention to how far I'd gotten at that point, so I was kinda surprised when I tripped my way down into Cybie's Hidey Hole.

The nuke BFG was kept in reserve against Cybie in case I turned into a retard and managed to get myself dead, in which case I could nuke him for the finale. But since it's surprisingly easy to dance around his rockets, it didn't come down to that. Since the only other time I found him was last year and we spent the entire fight at point-blank range, I didn't realize how easy it is to sidestep most of his shots. Probably just RNG being kind.

I did find the Anti-Freak Jackal, but since I was playing with shotguns and rockets, I didn't have any ammo for it at that point, and I preferred my powermod combat shotgun (Which I left in the Mortuary after upgrading to the powermod Assault Shotgun). I left it at the Hellgate for hypothetical stalkers to use. I skipped over the Spider Pits, and some level that spawned in a hellcave full of lava; I never found it, and wasn't going to wade out into the fire to look for it after I'd killed the attendant Arachnotrons.

Since it was my first time ever in the Mortuary, I managed to get the Bronze/Silver/Gold Reaper Badges all in one shot. That was kinda nifty, along with all the game-making loot the place coughed up. The Mortuary basically won my game for me. Bless that corpse-ridden mess of a level!

 12 of those were killed.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I haven't ever beaten the game, and this is the first time I've even seen Cybie. I was running AoSG for the bronze medal, and managed to do pretty well for myself. I got an Assault Shotgun and a Plasma Shotgun; the Assault had a power mod and the plasma had a bulk mod, since I didn't start tripping over mods on every level until later. I stuck with the Assault for general killing duty and used the Plasma for armoured targets, since I goofed and couldn't get Army of Darkness. Finesse wasn't a bad deal, though; I was getting off 2-3 shots with the Assault on some critters before they'd return fire.

I was in real good shape at the end of 22, with a neat loadout and a good set of gear, so I used a pair of homing phase doodads to basically skip the last two levels. This apparently offended the RNG, because it spawned me and the Cybie within spitting distance of each other.

I figured running for cover wouldn't get me anything but a rocket through the back of my skull, so I just hoped my power-mod red armour would keep me safe from it's melee swats while I crammed my plasma shotgun up it's rear end and cleaned out it's colon with fire. I got off something like 15 shots before my armour completely gave out and I goofed up my medkit juggling. The big cow squashed me flat.

If cybie has 200 health and the shotgun was doing 16 damage (Less the natural armour), I'm pretty sure I'd have frigg'n killed the bastard in a couple more shots.

I hope my shotgun is still stuck up his ass and he kills himself when he sits down. =<

One can only cram so much detail into an 8x12 tileset. For it's size, it looks pretty good.

Would be nice if those items stood out better from the floor. Maybe a white outline around them?

Requests For Features / Raking fire

I've been lurking around some, and I hope it's enough to keep me from sounding like an idjut.

Anyway, is there any possibility to having some raking fire with multishot weapons like the chaingun? As in, you point to 2 different spots as targets and the game would fire between them in an arc. It'd spread the damage out some, good for fighting large groups, while doing less damage since you're obviously not hitting any one thing with as many bullets (To say nothing of the bullets whizzing off into the dark).

That was a nice trick back in the day, when Cacodemons flinched at everything and a chaingun could keep a whole room of them pinned down, if you were willing to waste half your ammo to do it.
