Raptor: Call of the Shadows.Ahh I remember that game. Yeah it's really nice... should play it again after Q2 maybe. :)
Cool game. Just cool game. Can be won in few hours, but still cool.
Doom 2 With Doom 2 Extreme (Gold) Mod.What's so special about this mod?
This version is with a .DEH file, not an EXE so apparantly it makes it legal.
What's so special about this mod? It's a TC. It changes levels, some enemies and weapons. I have a suspicion that some of the levels, weapons and enemies were stolen from other mods.
Doom 2 With Doom 2 Extreme (Gold) Mod.Of course you have an executable (which is now free and legal since it's re-released as open source), but the .deh files allow you to kinda patch the executable so you can get more possibilities out of the classic vanilla Doom engine.
This version is with a .DEH file, not an EXE so apparantly it makes it legal.
Valve -- Left 4 Dead 2Yeah, indeed, I wonder too. I'd be playing much better games during my work.
I wonder why I'm playing that instead of doing work...
Blech...
Yeah, indeed, I wonder too. I'd be playing much better games during my work. You got me wrong there... I was at home, with the intention of doing work-related stuff.
;P
For years, I had this terrible addiction on me. This... CURSE... and now, it's back...
Namco - Pac-man
*dramatic music*
(PS: My hi-score is 17480 so far. :3)
It blows CE and the original outta the water.Oh, for me there's only 1 pacman... the original. Nuttin' beats that. :D
Kornel Kisielewicz - Doom, the RoguelikeI can't believe you've just did that!
(that is a valid entry! :D)
Konami - Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Konami - Metal Gear Solid: Peace WalkerI've been looking at this game for a while, is it worth reflashing my psp again to play it?
:D
I've been looking at this game for a while, is it worth reflashing my psp again to play it?
does it work under 5.00 m33-6 with prom 4?
Intelligent Systems - Fire EmblemI love that game! Even though it doesn't seem to like to reward my unorthodox techniques (pitting melee fighters against spell casters etc).
I love that game! Even though it doesn't seem to like to reward my unorthodox techniques (pitting melee fighters against spell casters etc).It can actually work, if you are lucky enough. All due to the Resonating Neural Grenade's whim, like always.
It can actually work, if you are lucky enough. All due to the Resonating Neural Grenade's whim, like always.I mean, I don't get recognition for the unorthodox play, though I get nice stars for "survival". Hahahahaha...
Yahtzee - Trilby: Art of TheftHave you played the chzo mythos games yet? It hurts
Have you played the chzo mythos games yet? It hurtsYeah. I so freaking love that series :D especially 7 days a skeptic.
Yeah. I so freaking love that series :D especially 7 days a skeptic.I thought 7 days made no sense and it had that god damn towel rack puzzle (why THAT when you have a perfectly good knife in the dining hall). Honestly notes is the best of the set.
I thought 7 days made no sense and it had that god damn towel rack puzzle (why THAT when you have a perfectly good knife in the dining hall). Honestly notes is the best of the set.Well true, a lot of adventure games have slipups like that--but the thing I like so much about Chzo Mythos is mainly the deepgoing story and genious atmosphere.
(because the original Doom has become boring)
Tsk.You must hate me, I've never even played the original Doom.
You must hate me, I've never even played the original Doom.Owww. How could you not play the original Doom? You should at least try it, since it is such an influential game.
You must hate me, I've never even played the original Doom.
Square Enix - The 3rd BirthdayWell, the easy mode for this was disappointing (7h 30m!), but normal seems to be mildly challenging. And supposedly there are two more unlockable difficulties after hard, so, I'll be busy with this for a while.
Deadly Rooms of Death - Journey to the Rooted hold.drod was awesome. I could never get into TCB though, perhaps I should try again - or replay KDD/JRtH
The name sounds like some dungeon slasher, and it actually is. But it's turn-based and logical.
Valve - Portal 2This along with
This along with"FINISH HIM. For Science. You monster."
NetherRealm Studios - Mortal Kombat 9
"FINISH HIM. For Science. You monster."I am now picturing Cave Johnson as the Lin Kuei grandmaster who ordered turning everyone into cyborgs...
O.o
The Creative Assembly: Shogun: Total War.I totally misread that as "thousands of Yaoi at a time". That was disconcerting for a while...
Conquering Japan in the Sengoku Jidai, thousands of Yari at a time.
I totally misread that as "thousands of Yaoi at a time". That was disconcerting for a while...... rawr! :3
I forgot there was even a 7-9 in that series...It's unofficial. ID was gonna make ep7-9 but sadly they never finished it, so a fan decided to continue the series himself. Since ID's 7-9 don't exist, I consider it official enough. :D
I am playing...
MAAAAAAN DOOOOOOM! (http://users.zoominternet.net/~tain/ManDoom)
3D Realms - Shadow Warrior"You wanna wash Wang, or you wanna watch Wang wash wang?"
Who wants some Wang?! :P
SNK - God Slayer: Haruka Tenkuu no SonataI love that game. I could probably make it through 95% of it on just memory alone, which is saying something because my memory sucks.
You may know it as Crystalis...
I love that game. I could probably make it through 95% of it on just memory alone, which is saying something because my memory sucks.Where do you find the psycho armor? I've been searching for the last 2 hours...
Konami - Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Where do you find the psycho armor? I've been searching for the last 2 hours...I don't remember exactly what to do to get it, but I'm pretty sure it's in the pyramid to the east of the last town in the game. I do remember you get it before you need to use the bows to use the second entrance, but I don't remember if it was a chest or a boss fight in the first pyramid.
3D Realms/Gearbox Software - Duke Nukem ForeverI'm prolly gonna play this one too after mgs2.
Time to get some politically incorrect killing fun.
I'm prolly gonna play this one too after mgs2.Yeah, critics take things too seriously.
A lot of critics say it's crap, but I guess it's still a piece of gaming history eh. :D
Falcom - Legacy of the Wizard
Has anyone else played this?
Activision - PrototypeWoah. That one is pretty fun, though I've not brought myself to complete the last few missions yet.
Woah. That one is pretty fun, though I've not brought myself to complete the last few missions yet.I like it, because it feels a lot like Grand Theft Auto with a lot of cheats enabled. Which I enjoy very much. :P
The small missions are okay, but the boss fights are quite !@#$%.
Delphine Software - Another World
One of the first cinematic games; and it has amazing graphics for it's time.
(very hard, though!)

Fallout New Vegas.I haven't gotten around to finishing NV yet. I only really play for an hour or two at a time, most of which is spent wandering the Mojave. :/
Because I'd already done:
*shotgun run
*melee weapons run
*energy weapons run
*true hardcore run
*no VATS run
*pistol run
*pacifist run
...I decided to do a Doomguy run.
10 S, 5 P, 10 E, 1 C, 5 I, 4 A, 5 L.
Unarmed weapons only.
Very Hard.
No companions.
Bloody Mess (obviously).
Can't ever run away from a fight. Must kill every enemy that confronts me.Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Portal 2... or I was, until my laptop decided to OVERHEAT AND SHUTDOWN.One reason to prefer games with ascii graphics. :P
One reason to prefer games with ascii graphics. :PIt seems to be a common issue with this model. Well done, Dell. :/
Brutal Doom with random maps, just FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN"Random" as in Oblige maps?
Brutal Doom with random maps, just FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN
Got my hands on Human Revolution a few days ago. My only complaint is that all the endings seem to be available regardless of play style.
Tyrian 2000.
Man, I missed the whimsical nature of games... nowadays everyone wants to make their games Serious Business. >.<
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.I used to like Bethesda games.
Well Bethesda is just good at making one thing over and over again, just slightly changing the flavor. Here, we've got Fallout: New Vegas thrown into the realm of nordic heroic fantasy.
Occasionally ripping off from Witcher 2.
I used to like Bethesda games.
Then I took an arrow in the knee.
Fallout: New Vegas, also known as GarbageFixed.Man Simulator: Post-Apocalyptic Version
Fallout: New Vegas, also known as Garbage Man Simulator: Post-Apocalyptic VersionI've tried playing NV multiple times, but I just can't finish it. I get up to seeing Mr House, and lose interest soon after.
ADOM, again...
*___*How well do you know ADOM? If that's the cave I think it is you may be in big trouble.
10 lvl gray elf assassin. For now, stuck in a tiny cave.
I'm playing Skyrim with permadeath. If I die, I delete all my savefiles.Uh, I don't know... permadeath on such long games doesn't really feel too great. Even in ToME I sometimes really dislike it (though I'm actually pro permadeath in general). You explore the world for hours and hours, get somewhere you've never been before, something strange happens and BAM... that's it. And you explore the (structurally same) world again.
O_O
REALM OF THE MAD GOD!
Seriously guys - it's awesome.
REALM OF THE MAD GOD!
Seriously guys - it's awesome.
Yes, it is!
Frustrating as hell, also. But...
Cube God, anyone?
Wait wait wait....
You're assuming we've even GOT THIS FAR...
:P
I actually played through whole Doom 2 a couple of days ago in a few hours. I think it might have been mys first honest playthrough. Good game. For some unknown reason, I like DoomRL more.
Planescape: Torment from Black Isle Studios
Planescape: Torment from Black Isle Studios.
A great, story-driven RPG from the authors of Fallout.
Civilization III - for the first time ever. It'll be about twenty years until I could try on Civ-V. :D
Civilization III - for the first time ever. It'll be about twenty years until I could try on Civ-V. :DAlmost the same here ...I owe both 3&4, but haven't touched them (only once I played civ 3 demo for an hour, so it doesn't count :P ).
I used to play Civ 1 long before I learnt English and didn't really understand much of the gameplay mechanics.I used to play Civ 1 without knowing English almost at all :) . And I think I learned like 90-95% of mechanics on my own, as a kid.
One Great Ostrava to rule them all!I guess, you live in Ostrava? :)
I guess, you live in Ostrava? :)Not difficult to guess, I beleive :). Do you happen to know the city as well?
nice one Klear :) do you also play as Martians when playing SMAC/X or Galactic Civilizations? :)
Sometimes, but it's not so much fun in such games.Glad to hear that :).
@ZicherCZ
I'm from Prague myself. I was in Ostrava once and it is beautiful (disclaimer, I love industrial architecture and socialist realism). Love at second sight indeed.
Not difficult to guess, I beleive :). Do you happen to know the city as well?I have been living & working there for the last 2 years. But 3 months ago I moved back to Warsaw :) .
finished that game with a cultural win, heavily inclined to remove Civ3 off my system. It appears it's "same old same old" Civ2 with some nice added features, with the gameplay not getting altered. Mass anything that attacks and defends, smite-smite-smite, win.Apparently, Civ 3 is regarded as one of the worst versions. At some point the ranking was: 4 > 2 > 3 > 1 when it comes to "gameplay experience".
I have been living & working there for the last 2 years. But 3 months ago I moved back to Warsaw :) .
It seems that we have a strong presence in Central Europe ^__^ (*cought* Kornel *cough*).
I have been living & working there for the last 2 years. But 3 months ago I moved back to Warsaw :) .You ... didn't happen to work for Tieto? :)
You ... didn't happen to work for Tieto? :)I did, rofl :P .
Maybe we could arrange some meetup in the summer?Yep, could be funny ^__^ .
I did, rofl :P .The world is simply way too small - I work for Tieto since 2009 :).
- Link to the Past. Greatest Zelda game ever, prove me wrong! Dark world was awesome.
I played through the original first Unreal few days ago. Neat game. Now I'm tempted to play through both System Shock games again.Unreal brings back memories, especially this part of the game:
While thinking about it, I realized I still thing SHODAN is the better villain than GLaDOS...
Unlocking this (yaaay, mod power "abuse") just to say that after finally getting a computer upgrade I got a chance to play some Diablo 3. And in my opinion, despite all the whining, hatred and huge amount of D2 nostalgia goggles running in the so-called "diablo community" the game is pretty enjoyable. So that's that, now use this thread to breathe some life back into the forums maybe?Sweet! Now you can try Torchlight II and tell us what you think between the Old Blizzard Team vs New Blizzard Team!
Sweet! Now you can try Torchlight II and tell us what you think between the Old Blizzard Team vs New Blizzard Team!Already did. T2 still suffers from the same glass canon syndrome that T1 did, and in fact it appears sooner. So no thanks, I'll pass.

Just rediscovered Kakuro (http://www.atksolutions.com/games/kakuro.html); hard levels still make my brain hurt.
Diablo 1 just had such a lonely atmosphere, and my heart identifies with haunting loneliness a lot more than it does with perilous dread! As for me, I just started up The Lost Vikings and have been marathoning it the last few nights. I feel like it would have been easy as a small child, but my boring adult brain struggles with such puzzly goodness.
Recently I came upon Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The original Deus Ex was awesome, and DX2 was total crap, so I decided to give this installment a shot. That prelude though... ugh. I hated it.
The result? Well, let's put it this way - it's been years since a game hooked so much that I played it the whole night, almost 14 hours straight. That good and that immersive game it is.
If you like some FPS/stealth play combined with a intriguing story, then give it a shot.
Edit: As a side note. thelaptop, I saw your rig info in another thread and... 32 gigs of ram? The hell, what are you doing with that computer man? My new laptop has eight and two of those spend most of their time twiddling their thumbs. Can't imagine what would need 32 Gb of RAM O_OVirtual machines, file system buffers, RAM to pre-load databases for calculations, space for large inference networks... so yeah. Lots of RAM needed. My rig, when not set up for playing games, is acting as my private compute server using Linux.
Can't imagine what would need 32 Gb of RAM O_O

Brilliant game, really fun throwback to watching my brother play eye of the beholder on his Amiga! I'd wholeheartedly recommend it!

Guess I have to play DM again, and give LoG a shot :).
