for me it looks like it's the best thing to do in Phobos Anomaly, provided you have no phase device to face BBs first and have the ambush released. They come out, you rocketjump backward and run to safety, and shoot em away with a shotty or whatever available.

yep, actually the renewed wiki page states its type as bullet. It means though, that you have hit that baron 50 timers normally, halving the shield and its resistances, then finally dealing a little more than 1 damage per hit, and he probably used a medpak in between, otherwise the armor should get dropped being worn down to ~30%.

I recall me playing 0.9.9.5 AoMr and fighting a hell knight with 2x2d4+3 speedloaders, that knight soaked a helluva bullets, and dropped me a "gothic armor" at 150%. Grrr.

a nice twist to Fireangel to get knocked by explosions. After all, being immune to damage does not prevent you being immune to be forced to move. And yes, finally it'll be a rocketjump-friendly mode... I wish to be able to jump better.

the PC I work at has its sound card burnt away (the chip malfunctioned), so no sound, only peeks from behind. One even said "Whoa, people still play this?" I responded with "Yep, and it's still alive and developing!"

It's even greater than corpse explosion, there is one already (BFG does extra booms), while this is some infection that if kills, blows and spreads.  OW, I say. The only nitpick is that if there's nothing in your 4-tile radius, you won't get killed with this. I believe this is too OP.

And about DII and CE - there was a name for a CE necro - "I_CEdeadpeople" :)

it looks like the game does not have permissions to write either file. Try unzipping fresh doomrl, clear read-only from folders and files within, and launch a game just for stats. Yes, also check if there's a difference from launching the executable directly from Windows Explorer and from a link.

ini files got replaced with lua files, that are technically being used as ini files. Check doomrl.lua, then.

check file attributed on player.wad, in case there's a read-only flag set, clear it. Maybe it's just that. And, if it won't help, please post OS and version of DoomRL running (graphics or console, and number)

About lost souls - they've got 50% bullet resistance in some of the patches (0.9.9.5 IIRC) along with Revenants, that's why they are scary for a bullet shooter. And yes, a double shotty vs souls = a lot of blown up souls, if used at close range :)

Formers could use medpaks without a message appearing in case you don't see them doing that, say you knocked a former back out of visible range with a shotgun (AoS for example) and he used a medpak, you won't get the message. I have sometimes managed to hear the sound of them eating medpacks, a "woooom" like one, like when you take a powerup.

with lava element, first use the nuke, then wait for 4-3 seconds left, then use lava element - the invulnerability is brief but will last enough to survive the nuclear explosion.

this spoils the nanoshrapnel anything, since you can't nanoshrapnel the PJ. Plasma shrapnel too, it's reduced to one-shot weapon and completely spoils the idea of shottyman and these. Grrrrrrr. Still, how come shottyman does reload the nano-modded shotgun? :)

Just got me a nano pack in AoS Hell Armory, and slapped it over my shotty in an intention to make a nanoshrapnel, but it still goes like normal, reloading from shottyman on movement, not reloading at all either via wait or reload or say if I unequip something. (No it does reload but after a painful interval of ~5.0s - should it be like that at all?) Anyway if it's not a nanopack bug, then a shottyman bug instead, it should not reload an unreloadable shotty.
