I have to thank Xander, this site will help me alot, because I'm planning to play aliens on d20-ruleset with my friends. The stuff about weapons will sure come handy.

Basically I did a normal run to get 1 silver badge to get the next rank. What I did not foresee was that Lady RNG smiled upon me the whole run.
I always had a nice amount of armors, good supply of mods and a very good luck with my rolls.
The ultimate pinnacle of luck was finding 2 (yeah, 2) nukes on lvl 12 caves. Even more so, I found an Invul. Globe next to the stairs to Mortuary. Man was I lucky.
I wonder though, that I didn't get the gold badge. I cleared the Mortuary, it even says so. I got only the silver "go in and get out alive"-badge.
PS. Advanced Plasma Rifle with A3 and P2, combined with 2 points in Triggerhappy and Ammochain = win.

I wish for a wall-destroying pistol unique that I don't need to hack in.
You find "The Wall Destroyer" next to the stairs to The Wall on you AoMr-run. The pistol promptly nukes the The Wall as you descend the stairs and is of no further use. I hope you were Invul. Globed.

I was thinking along these lines:
Guy who is bored to death starts to play some Doom RL and gets hooked.
Then some awesome gameplay-records (ofc we need jokes like: "Stunning new-age graphics that melt your eyes")
Then the guy again and hes like: "Woah this is t3h awesomest, but I can't play it all the time I've got to play some-"
*Doom imp aggro sound*
Imp on the door -> fireball to the screen as in taking a hit in original Doom -> Doomguys death-sound -> blood down the screen and a slogan:

Ooh, someone else has been toying around with a tabletop-game of Doom. And not talking about the boardgame.
I've been trying to create a "tabletop" RPG, loosely based on Doom and somewhat based on Doom RL. (For instance, all the weapons currently have the same stats for testing purposes). It all started when I thought it would be cool to DM Doom RL with unknowing players entering the Unholy Cathedral and finding out that their guns don't work when they encounter AoD.
It needs a crapload of work, I need to develop a simple and effective combat system to keep it fast paced and the focus on killing.

Have the stats marginally better than regular weapon, but add one ability: for every kill (or every X kills - adjust as needed for balance) you make with this unique the game would generate 1 shell next to you when you go to next level (up to a full stack) - I don't think I need to say how usefull this would be.
I love you man. I play shotgun-games quite often.

I playt this every now and then too. Sometimes I even get quite far in it.
Congrats on your first win in ages.
I personally prefer magazine mods over damage, because it's the reloading that stings like Hell. But if I can spare it, damage mods are not that bad either. Make sure you keep playing Doom RL more :)
