Generic, do you want my player.dat? That'll let you play AoMr on N! Shouldn't UV be pretty easily unlocked, though?
I also started as a player who loved pistols most - all my earlier posted mortems were pistols as well, but it was UV/N! AoMs that forced me to convert: playing pistols without uniques or advanced pistols just didn't have enough power (damage per second).

Antifreak avg 10 + 3 -> 13 average per shot
Trigun avg 10.5 + 3 -> 13.5 average per shot
time (0.7s + 1.0s) * 0.4 * 0.6 * 0.9 * 0.9
0.33048s per dual shot
80.2 average damage per second. And super duper against armor too, since base damage is so high.
Not to mention the antifreak splash too.

Unique Damage Modpack
Increases the SMALLER of the two numbers in a weapon's damage dice, rather than the larger.
Oh, and wouldn't it be really sweet if we could apply one mod to unique weapons/armor/boots? I don't think it'll be too unbalancing?

I like the general idea of "here's x tasks to do, you only need to do SOME of them to get to the next rank", but I prefer Malek's version rather than a chain like Maizure's, as the latter is still will eventually force you to do some things you don't like, unless the requirements were really relaxed.
Once I get my N! AoB win (if ever?) I'll probably never play it again unless it was radically changed. It's not that enjoyable in its current form. So I'd support any system that doesn't require me to play aspects which I don't enjoy.

Every level has guaranteed a minimum amount of certain items to be found, but you won't get much more than that either.

Nice work. When I started to use the 'running' tactic, it also helped my survival rate go up a lot. It's key against arachnotrons, captains, and commandos.
The hell staff acts like a regular phase device if you're not tired, and is not consumed upon use.

AoPc is all about luck, and this run was lucky enough. One mega problem is when enemies block the only door forward - you have to run around precariously dodging (hopefully) lots of shots while also hoping the enemy moves, or gets hit by friendly fire and dies.Only AoB remains to be won, an enormous giant that I cannot yet defeat.
The winning run starts at frame 7941 in the demo (use dosrecorder's shortcut keys to get their more quickly), the earlier time was some AoB and AoPc runs where I died rather quickly...
Also, oddly enough, this blows away all of my other attempts at winning with a low turn count.

I'm playing this game way too much. Oh well, enjoying my last week or so until classes start again.An early attempt at trying to win quickly, in-game time. There's probably some improvement to be made. Not taking the trip for the BFG saves a bunch of time, so will need to fight Cyberdemon with plasma, and some backup health. Never wore armor except for the final fight with Cyberdemon, as it slows player movement down.
Playing for low turncount develops bad habits for difficult modes like AoP and AoMs, though, as you just walk around corners carelessly rather than carefully peeking and spending turns in that way.

Getting closer! Actually pretty darn close - after this floor and the next, Unholy Cathedral. Get a lucky berserk there, and 100% the rest shouldn't be too difficult.
