Oh, my bad, now that you point it out I remember reading something like that in the change log :-p

Playing the Angel of Light Travel on HMP at first the SOB was capped at level 3 as expected, but later after I got Whizkid suddenly a level 4 and even 5 was choosable. Needless to say I grabbed it ;-) Still, I guess that's a bug.

Also learned something: in lava pits 2 phase devices aren't nearly as good as a second env.suit. Damn things spawned me right next to stairs TWO times..there goes the full win..

Game Version PC w/ sound

Right before the crash a former human exploded a barrel killing himself and possibly others, maybe that has something to do with it.

Is it a bug or are Angels of Haste not awarded with Icarus Crosses?
Even if the case it doesn't say so in the description.

BTW I was very lucky with an Inv Globe, hence the Cyberdemon's Head

Bug Reports / [0.9.9.1] Gothic Armor Immobilize Bug

I was playing a game of Angel of 100 and had found and equipped Gothic Armor.
Then, a couple of hundred turns and 2 levels later all of a sudden comes the message "You are immobilized, feel like a fortress" and I can't move anymore.

I hadn't switched any other equipment, just from one move to the next this kicks in.

Other equipment was plasteel boots and I never even had found gothic boots in that game..

Unequipping boots or armor didn't help either, I had to suicide ...
What pisses me off most was the game was going well too

Melee fists::

You land a jaw-breaking punch on the former human/sergeant/captain/commando transforming his face into pulp.

You drive your fists into the cacodemon's eye tearing out intestines in a gush of blood. (gory enough? ;) )

You hit the demon square on the head with both fists in a skull-crushing blow.

You manage to hit the Hell Knight/Baron of Hell in a critical spot, snapping it's neck.

You grab the Arch-Vile in a deadly headlock and rip out it's spine.

You get behind the arachnotron and transform it's brains into a bloody pulp.

You land a mighty uppercut on the lost soul, smashing it into the ceiling.

You punch right through the pain elemental's soft tissue, ripping it apart.

Though I don't know if it applies with latest beta, as the advanced pistol now doesn't have any dmg difference in the beginning.

It doesn't.  Here's the math:

Both guns are now, indeed, 2-8 instead of 2-10 + 2-8.  This means that for SoG 2 -> DG the average damage per bullet is 9 while the energy taken to fire both guns is 840, and for 12 shots that adds up to 108 damage and 5040 energy used total.  SoG 3 makes the average damage per bullet 11 and the energy taken to fire the one gun 400, but when you take reloading into account (which uses 1200 energy) you only get 9.6 shots, and that adds up to only 105.6 average damage over the same 5040 energy.  However, if you find a certain spoily before you hit level 3 you'll want to take SoG 3 first.

As for DG 2, the beta has changed it so the math may seem a little wonky.  A person who has SoG 3 & DG 1 and takes DG 2 actually fires 20 energy faster than a person who (with the same initial traits) takes Fin 1 first, but a person who has SoG 3 & DG 2 and takes Fin 1 fires 20 energy slower than the person who took Fin 1 before and is now taking Fin 2.  It's only 20 energy either way, though, so personal preference pretty well wins the day.

you know, in the time it took me trying to comprehend this post I could have nailed like 10 cacodemons ;)

no, somehow you should immediately see the direction, but only if it's left or right, that's sufficient info IMO

hey cool i had idea for a Demolition Challenge with the Mega Launcher. its a standard rocket launcher, but infinite ammo! still reloads, but that solves the blew up all ammo problem, and makes it playable on early levels, where there are no rockets! also, the Angel of Carnage Challenge. (wont unlock anything) you can use only chainguns. but u start with an advanced chaingun, and remember dualgunner trait? new trait called Ripper! 1 level, requires dualgunners, reloader, and yhe firing speed trait to get, it lets u, with two chainguns in inventory, to fire alternately, ie at once. meaning 10 shots per turn for 10 turns. 100 shots before reload!!! note it fires the shots alternately, so if they do different damage (advanced) then damage is different, note it fires all 10 within just as much time as normal, so technically 200% firing speed, and 150% reload speed!!! it would make the chaingun acceptable as a late-game weapon. but each trait it requires must be at 2, and Dualgunner requires 2 Son of a gun! so minumum lvl 9 to have this trait!!!!!!!!! that makes it equal. seeing as how u arent likely to get that many levels without intuition, which takes 5 levels to max out! ie total lvl 14!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you know, the problem with these challenges is that there is no challenge - I have a faint suspicion that supernaut got the same idea  :-P

hmm, I've seen creation of these green walls too, when I nailed a cacodemon to an outer wall with a couple of shotgun shots (arena)

anyways, this gives me an idea

how about actually using green blood for knights/barons and maybe cacodemons? (dots and %)

thank you! well I had been playing the 0.9.8 for a while too, also won that version once or twice

I did follow all these suggestions in my second AoB-win which was today and even without sound! :-D

I didn't realize until later that I could avoid The wall by simply 'l'ooking at the stairs

I got those armors in the mortuary, and from there to the end I never had to throw anything away
