Not 100% sure its a bug, only 99,9% sure, but in this version BFG works in exactly opposite manner than the previous one. When i shoot it, all the barrels and walls and enemies around the supposed point of impact blow up/die, and THEN the plasma ball comes out and flies to the target point, creating a wave.

I've been saying for a long time already, change the shotgun/pistol ammo color, for crying out loud, or at least externalize it into ini.
Same with stairs, main stairs should not be white. After a fierce fight with map revealed it sometimes takes me a good 30 seconds or more to locate the damn stairs, especially if its surrounded by pistols.

Soo...which of them you find most useful ?
I say that only GunKata is a viable choice, especially since we've been robbed of advanced pistol in AoM, the rest of them are rather iffy.

Ammochain is basically an invitation to suicide.

Army of the Dead...well, the most important thing with shotguns is to close quickly and shoot fast, and you trade that for a few extra points of damage ? Considering that shotguns damage REALLY dissipate with range - thats not a smart thing to do, Revenants will rape you hard if you make this choice.

Vampire doesnt really hurt all that much, but its not of any real use either, especially since you are required to get Badass for it. It gives you 5% a kill, if i'm not mistaken, which is negligeable.

Fireangel - why would you even want that ?

Cateye is very level dependent, soo...

Blademaster is the only one i havent tried yet, but cant imagine it being all that great, how often do you get surrounded anyway ?

I really dont care if anyone claims its a feature, because the situation is almost retarded. The player should NOT, EVER, spawn in a room with a dozen lost souls. Especially if its the second level.

I guess its not a bug per se, rather an oversight, maybe, but nevertheless i officially inform everyone who is concerned, that Whizkid trait is not working anymore, since the maximum mods on a weapon seems to be maxed at 6. Therefore, first Whizkid will give you 2 extra mod space on advanced weapon, while 2nd Whizkid will give you nothing at all.

I wonder why this bug is not reported yet.
It is twice now, that i receive the message "the player.dat file is corrupted, delete it and start again".
Needless to say, this erases all my exploits so far.

It seems to me, that it is totally impossible to win a game on U, even WITH savescumming. Its just not happening. The reason is, of course, a V. They present only a moderate threat when bunched up in open space, like Mortuary, "town" type levels are good too, but winning several "labyrinth" type levels, or normal "rooms" - nope, no can do.

How to fight this...hmm...
For example this : changing a minimum exp given for a kill to a fixed amount. Like, for easiest difficulty - no change. For next two difficulties - any monster gives a minimum of 1% of exp. And for the last two - 2% minimum exp per kill.

Right now special levels dont really give you much choice. The rewards are too great for you to NOT go in them. Hence - you always go in special levels.

What if after you visit 2d2 special levels - the difficulty level for the rest of the game went up one point ?
2d2, so you could still safely go into one special level of your choosing, but couldnt know if the difficulty would go up after the next one, or the one after that, and think about taking the risk not only for special level, but for the rest of the game.

Its impossible to tell the energy spent, but does SoG add damage or not ?
Wiki says sergeant has 10hp, last time i had SoG3 that should mean my MINIMUM damage is 8 and maximum 14. It is my understanding that if a monster wears armour - it falls out when he dies ? Then why does unarmoured sergeant sometimes takes 4 shots ? It should always be between 1 and 2 shots, right ?

If he wears green armour - the minimum damage would be 7, also 2 shots tops !
If he wears blue armour - the minimum damage would be 6, ALSO 2 shots tops !

1) Why i can set an option for a random name, but cant set an option for a consistent name ? I only use my nick every time anyway.

2) Dying. When you die you have to press Enter/Space, then Escape, then Enter again. What the...
Why cant it be just Space, or just Enter ? Escape is not really that convenient anyway, at least on a normal keyboards, i think Kornel said he had a notebook or something ?

3) There is an option to always pick a chosen trait at the start. AAMOF, it would be much more comforting to assign letters to traits, instead of moving up and down between them. One press of a button instead of four.

4) The colour of shotgun and 10mm ammo should differ more. I thought someone would have proposed this already, but seeing as its already, and nothing has changed...

Bug Reports / New level type bug

It was on this new "Arena" level type, the one where you're been shot at from the other end of the map.
There are 4 wall tiles in the middle of the level, and in the very center of them i saw a } symbol, interestingly enough, when i pressed "x" it didnt say anything, so i decided to pick it up, but couldnt step on it. When i aimed at the symbol i learned that it is some THING bearing MY NAME. And when i wanted to step on it - i actually attacked it hth. I tried shooting at it with a chaingun - and nearly killed myself.
