Title: Wiki needs YOU!
Post by: Malek Deneith on November 30, 2006, 09:32
To keep things short - use the WIKI (http://doom.chaosforge.org/wiki/index.php?title=DoomRL_Wiki) people - you can really find various usefull info there. Also the wiki needs help in gathering more data - details can be found here (http://forum.chaosforge.org/index.php?topic=325.15). I hope that there will be people willing to help out with keeping the info updated.

Registering in yet another place is always a pain. Why cant wiki simply use the forum usernames and passwords ?

You're right Karry, a good idea :). Now please hack into the Media Wiki sources, and SMF sources and make the two login systems compatible, and I'll upload the changes and we'll all be happy :)

Someone has already done the hard work for you:

http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:SMF_Authentication

tho this would probably render all existing Mediawiki accounts useless.

The author has a thread on the SMF forums going for this and an SMF Authorisation plugin (so you could only have "senior" forum users able to edit the wiki, for example, though that's somewhat counter-productive to the idea of collaborative software).

Another WIKICOMP might be in order.
I'll help as much as my playing time allows.

If someone will run it, I can bankroll 50% of the pay-outs, as per the usual practice.

I just registered in order to help out on the wiki - the old recipe for Cerberus Boots & Armor no longer works.  I'm not sure what to do, because I can log in here, but not on the wiki.  Help?

Edit:  I think the new recipe is PATP or PTAP.

If you have made - I think - 20 forum posts, you can use the same ID to log on to the Wiki.

Edit:  I think the new recipe is PATP or PTAP.

Which amounts to the same. I think the trick is that you can't add a 2nd P-mod to the boots, unless you're completing the assembly, so 1 of these will always be last. It's probably listed as PPTA, but this is just the types of mod needed, not the order in which to slap them on.

... but this is just the types of mod needed, not the order in which to slap them on.
... and this is true for _all_ assemblies.

Added to wiki: on Modification Packs (http://doom.chaosforge.org/wiki/Items#Modification_Packs_.28Mods.29) page and as a third paragraph of Assemblies (http://doom.chaosforge.org/wiki/Assemblies) page.
