It's a good idea. But I would say that it should be avaiable to all classes, but maybe with penalty, so you lose 50% ammo used in the process.
And maybe it should require one point in Whizzkid and Technician's penalty would be 25% instead of 50%.
So to make 100 shell box, you would use 150 and Technician 125.

Or.... maybe bulk mod added to full stack wouldn't be so bad? Maybe with Whizz 2 or something.

I think overloading is instant while nuke takes 10 seconds to go off. You gain more invulnerability time this way.

Also, I'd recommend binding run command to numpad0. So when you play on numpad, you have wait command on 5, and run on 0. Then you can spam 0->5 fairly quick and get free shots (or even better, combine it with giftdropping).
Very good tactic, unless you're doing AoRa, or N!. Or if supercharged without Badass ;)

It's a very nice idea. Also, using 'running in place' tactic is very good, but on N! it's not so desired, I assume (due to respawn). It can be painful to scout large room with something other than shotgun. But if you use shotgun, you really can't tell exact position of monsters - only that they're there somewhere...
Or, I don't know, scouting with pistol to conserve ammo?

I think it's because the game is calculating damage before animation, or something like that.

Also, items were indestructible in original Doom. I wonder if it's possible to adapt constant weapon change time, like in Doom. So unequipping would take 0s, while equipping item would take 1s, or so. Or make it 0.5 / 0.5 ?
