If we've had that discussion so many times, then why for god's sake doesn't Kornel just release the numbers so we can put it to rest? o_O

Where Ironman & Tough as Nails changed or was the description altered or what did I miss? TaN used to give +1 armor and Ironman +10 hp. That's it. Those are "the numbers" behind the two traits.
They do different things and should not be chained.

The Sonic Clang version (Classic Doom 3) is the best one. It keeps the original mood and style.

The ones from sirgalahad.org are good default choices but have mostly sentimental value to me.

The Grasshoppa Remixes stray too much from the original style to really appeal to me in that context. They are not bad tracks, but don't have much doom left in them.

I never ever use them myself. I'd rather carry around more meds or armors than wasting inventory slots on phase devices.

The last time I used them was back in 0.9.8.5 when AoMr used to be super hard and I used two of them during my Cybie fight. One ported me just 6 or 7 steps to the other side of Cybie and the other just ~10, barely enough to reload before the rocket bombardment continued. Needless to say I lost.

I'm also against this.Challenges cannot be played on easy anyway and medium is perfectly fine. If someone beat a challenge he/she did it at least on medium.
Challenges are also just that, challenges. Additional incentives for those who want to play the game in a different way. No need to restrict/limit that.

IIRC Kornel added (wanted to add?) the tactics switching delay as a quick fix for the old tactics system. Dunno if it's supposed to affect the new system as well.

That is not an easy suggestion to make..
Being fast and non over-complex was a definitive feature of DRL, it made it a good game, it made it popular.
The scope of proposals implies change of the original vision. DRL is not a kind of game in where you spend time planning far ahead before taking any turn, it is played fast and aggressive. If you want it to become something different now, I think it's better to stop. You know you can not (and I think, do not want) to work on it forever. You have to stop somewhere and it's better to do it at the peak.
I would rather see a brand new game appear on chaosforge, rather than see DRL mutating out of its shape.

It doesn't matter how much it impacts movement speed. Just having something like that at all feels WRONG.

Look at me, I'm carrying 500 kg of shells and 10mm rounds and 3 spare sets of armor but should I ever wear just one of those 3 armors I carry in my backpack I'll be slowed down.......

Let's cut the heroic marine some slack and let him walk unencumbered into the halls of Hell.

This = DoomRL
DoomRL != Adom
=> This != Armor weight


That was the most sane way for me to express how much I am against this concept in DoomRL

How about a unique pistol duo for all those AoMr lovers out there? :D
Ebony and Ivory from Devil May Cry comes to mind. Give them increased knockback and a bit more damage and speed. Or, if you want to add special ability, I'd go with something that sort of stuns or delays the target you are shooting. Only works as a pair ;)

For the knife I'd go with a Butter Knife that turns into a Silver Knife once it was used often enough.

The Double Shotgun has to become either the "El Mariachi" or the "Boomstick". Everything else would be blasphemy ;D Not sure about the bonuses though.
