Mjollnir is extremely rare. I've never even seen that thing spawn.

Arena Master Staff has only one use and one use only currently to be completely honest.
The attack effect it makes isn't powerful enough to waste a good run on.

Blood and Hatred skulls on the other hand.. They can be truly handy, specialy hatred skulls.
Fire skull? It's a bit meh really. And I don't like risking items blowing up using it either.
I could imagine it could be handy for damage when trying UC with no brute when used tacticaly, but then again, so is hatred for similiar use situation.

Honestly it'd be pretty nice if the staff's damage could be buffed up or atleast made non fire so it could be used for killing lost souls.
I wouldn't mind if fire skull's effect was made to have bit more kick either

Like really.

This run had two goals: Getting more assemblies and gambler's shield.
And both succeeded.

It was pretty standart run really, there wasn't much to it.. untill I got to hell's armory that is!
Originally I was planning to make nanomanufactore ammo but then I saw the most beutiful sight in the weapons cache:
Super Shotgun.

Change of plans was immidiat cause I also happened to miss nanofracture ammo thingy for shotguns.
And the mod cache? Hello Nano pack!

I unfortunantly had to carry the useless piece of P1N1 supershotgun for a short while but then when I broke down my micro launcer at containment area, I got the missing P mod.
And from that point on all I could say was:
"Like I give a fuck"

No really, I didn't need to. I just pointed my super shotgun to one direction, spammed fire, listened as the monsters screamed like little girls and bam, they died without me even needing to get near them.
This continued on and on.
Honorable mention to limbo where I didn't even need to lift the bridge to kill both sides. The screams were delicious.

I disambled the mega buster I found from vaults and got onyx mod, I was hoping for lava boots to take on the lava pits but I didn't end up needing to do that due of finding two nukes and a invulnerability + 2 homing phase devices two levels before Dis.
And then I nuked the big spidy and made carmack my bitch for this run.

I didn't even end up needing to use my other weapons apart from missile launcher to break few walls in this whole run after I got nano super shotgun done.

Summing it up:
BANG SCREAM BANG SCREAM BANG SCREAM BANG SCREAM BANG SCREAM BANG SCREAM BANG SCREAM BANG SCREAM 

And the gambler's shield?
Well I have to say, I didn't earlier have any opinion on the said badge but now I have to say:
It is an easy badge and that's all there is to it. Don't get me wrong, ofcourse there is the situations where the lever is in the middle of a large room and it turns the whole thing to lava, but there is a lot of ways to prepare for the effects otherwise, such as blowing up a way nearer to it with barrels, etc.. And in late game they shouldn't really be problem anyway regardless of effect.

So I felt like doing some runs to get more assemblies, but due of many of them failing miserable in UV, I had to swallow my pride down and do HMP.
...
Good lord this run was the most extreemist luck shifter I've had in ages.
The entry way? Formers hit me every time even on run state as I failed my usual sneakiness, they used both of the healthkits.
I had to hunt the last one from behind the base aswell. and I basicly started the game with only one health kit.

Then level 2 had vault, it had la arge health kit and a red armor. Hell's arena was a piece of cake due of that.
and then all good things come to an end. no, health, anywhere. I was lucky to see a small health globe in lvl4.
All others were medkits that, surprise surpise hell knights and formers used, making me grind my teeth. And with formers moving in packs and usualy being sergeants.. WELP
(honorable mention: screw you hell knight that was carrying 2 large packs and 2 small ones with blue armor on)

The military base and anamoly were a huge relief, finally some health. I scratched every small healthpack those goodie crates gave, yet, there were so little amount of them..
Deimos started alright and as I got to the armory, I dissambled a chaingun resulting in firestorm pack. After killing shambler, oh look, another firestorm. So the plan was set: Biggest fucking gun it is.

Normally with the health case I had I'd have skipped the Wall, but I found an invulerability next to the stairs and I had a phase device so.. Yeah.

On abyssal plains I got 3 hatred skulls, not bad, but I'd have prefered atleast one blood skull.
When I finally got to halls of carnage, things were not so good. I ended up burning all my gigantic generous amount of 2 healthpacks, one small one big, and leaving the level with 24% cause I missed one baron that decided to say hi after I assembled the biggest fucking gun, but what I got in my hands felt amazing.

The next level, started terrible. I heard the noise of several cacodemons right at the next room and then there was a teleport next to me. I took the teleport and..
Hi mr baron in a tight room. Oh look my only gun that has ammo to take you down is biggest fucking gun
So I fired it and holy shit
it caused one third of the map go down in flames. No walls left, just on big gaping floor down area.

I got bit lucky in this level, a big health orb and a large medpack..
.. and that was the only thing in health I had for taking on the cybie.
with 60 cells on my plasma rifle and missile launcher in hand I marched down to the tower of babel.

I know this would not end well. I really wanted to skip this and actually shot at some of the pillars incase they'd have a hidden staircase.
I tried my best dodging the missiles but without dodgemaster, you can expect the results.

oh well. I really wanted to try the biggest fucking gun out in the mortuary, but that was denied.
maybe some other day

So this is a little anoying bug I've noticed several times now.

If there's a vault, or sometimes, just L shaped corner and demons have spawned near them they will not move till they get hurt.
Several times now, usually when I play as techy, I find an early level vault, full of demons, I open the door move out and wait.. only to find they aren't moving.
Then when I find a map and look, walk around, etc, I see that they are not moving at all even when they have space to do so. I've also seen this a lot in maze levels.

So whats the deal with this? Cause this is frankly speaking anoying to deal with at early levels, specially with vaults.
I haven't seen any other monster be frozen like this, only demons.

It should be easy to reproduce if you play few techy rounds till an early level vault spawns.
Windows version, don't know if this applies in other versions.

Honestly speaking Gut's hearth is probably the only one I feel bit "eh" about
Killing mastermind is nothing compared to actually weilding the damn thing. You'll kill the thing if you get it up in a regular game 99% surely.

Iron skull might look like bit too demanding at first, but honestly speaking, as I've actually been trying to get this medal for a while now, will have to say that I wouldn't mind if its recruitment was lowered but I dont really see a need to remove it.
Forcing yourself through soaking all of the damage is a fun little challenge, though a real bitch when you get to deimos.

Gambler shield I could maybe agree on as pulling 25 in one game is really unlikely, unless it counts special level levers? I don't actually know I've never tried this badge so its hard to take a stance for it. It is just one of those medals that might have too high recruitment

Phobos Lab is a giant nope nope for me unless I try to do conquer or I'm in a shotgun/meelee build.
And military base on the other hand is a a giant "hell yes!" specially on nightmare.

Phobos lab really needs something to make it even considerable.

well you're oh so limited what you can do within a game anyway and doomrl has had its player base grow a lot so its no wonder there has been lot of DS weilders popping up
you can't expect all easter eggs stay hidden forever really ._.

Okay this is something thats been bugging me for a while now.
I've been wanting to do some N! runs and I really want to take on that Hells Arena.
But the corpse resurrection is just ridicilous.
So far the pretty basic stance is to: Pile up the bodies with knockback, have cacodemon blast gib em.

But now, when it comes to damageless, how on earth is this suppoused to be done?
At first I figured that bodies to the wall: dodge caco blast, gib. But that would be too.. unreliable, unless, dodgemaster, yet on the untoucheables with hell arena on N! that are on mortems, they don't seem to come with dodgemaster either. This would also cut the damage output seriously low.
One other thing I figured would be to hope for a vault and a rocket launcher.. But, really, that is even more unreliable, specialy since they won't come with rockets usualy.

So does anyone actually got any good pointer on this?

WELL.
I uh.  Never guessed how wrong all my earlier theory crafts were.
But yet after all this time, I finally managed to lift this bastard.

This run was pretty standart meelee it all down. I don't just know why I even started this, I just got the weird mood "hey maybe something interesting will happen"
Well something interesting did happen indeed.

I was originally going to try the malicious blades, but then the situation called that I really, really needed berserk to get out of the level.

Most of the trouble came from the lava for me, it still hurt even when you go all zerk, so I builded those cerburus boots.. ... and then on the same level I found both, the phaseshift armor AND boots.
that was just derp.

This run was pretty boring honestly speaking when I got to the hell levels, most of the levels 20 - 80 was just running around for the exit as I really didn't want to bother with the same old archvile/revenant/mancubi packs.
Then I found the dragonslayer, had fun with for about ten levels or so, and back to just running to the exit.

I was really hoping to see the Apostle boss, but guess I need the armor for that or something for it spawn in Ao100.
*shrug*

Felt pretty good though, this thing had haunted me for so long.

Some challenges get spiced up on AoOC, some don't.
This one was in between.

In a way, AoI has its charm of the need to survive, but it isn't as big as maschocist one.
But when you start right there in the hell, and you cannot pick up anything to use for later, you do not get your complimentary two large healthpacks, things can get really, really messy.

I did several tries to get this thing to work, techy does not get that much starting bonuses so picking up the first trait was a very big thing
I tried Hellrunner quite many times just cause I figured if I see a powerup, better get to ASAP.
However that was bit too unreliable. I figured I'd buff my power, SoAb and finesse did yeild a slightly better work but still not that well as I hoped.
EE however allowed me to use the big powerhouse that you start with on AoOC: The minigun.
And man, did that make things lot more simple. I actually had firepower to take down those enemies that came in the way between me and the stairs with chainfire.

A lot of this was just running to stairs as you can notice, and well, yeah. That's what it was. I found a nice chain of invuls and envisuits that allowed me to make a swift move to stairs even across the dangerous lava.
Then just before dis, an invulnerability, just right there.
Mastermind went down quite steady and nicely. Would've been probably impossible without the invulnerability considering I found no armor what so ever in this whole run.
No. Armor. Ever.

But yeah, starting in hell is a giant gamble I say. But I do like the quickness.
Either get lucky and things go smooth, or die so many times it would make a mountain of corpses.

Honestly, I don't think all badges need to get nerfed from dual angels, just the ones that get their challenge from the long run of the game.
Badges that need more on the luck side and short term stragety to achieve however do not really need that much of change, such as vaults, mortuary or other special level related ones.

well apart from the bug with the chainsaw, god i wish I'd have knewn that earlier

Biggest thing that really breaks the another challenge + AoOC is honestly speaking: Scout.
That stair sense is just too OP in this case.
