Berak moves carefully towards the tunnel entry, keeping an eye on the tunnel inside, ready to retreat if anything threatening should appear. Once he reaches the tunnel, he lets his consciousness fragment fade away. The orange gem embedded in his chest starts to glow with dim light. It gradually increases in brightness until the light it emits is bright enough that Berak can see farther into the tunnel.

Turning to the others, Berak says

- There is a tunnel near the base of the cairn. I'll go and take a closer look.

He gets off the ship and starts moving towards the cairn until he is close enough that he can move his consciousness fragment over the hole and take a look inside.

Berak inspects the surroundings for any signs of danger. If he does not find any, he concentrates his attention on the cairn and its surroundings, looking for anything that might be of interest, even projecting his consciousness as close to the cairn as possible, if observing from a distance does not yield any results. He tries not to be distracted by the cussing kobold buried in snow.

Berak doesn't expect that it will lead to anything pleasant, but since they already decided on it, he takes his place behind an oar and waits for the others to do the same.

Berak eyes the kobold, suspicious.

Observing others' reactions, Berak guesses that they wish to present the Scepter to the ship and have it take them to wherever. He feels that it's a more dangerous way of doing things, but not without its merits.

Whoa, reinstalled it again and suddenly a lot of new stuff is available (the Ice Scepter among them). Apparently I had it set up all wrong this whole time. I don't know what I did differently that fixed it though :P.

As for the ice scepter itself it is an actual usable magical item - look for it under rods section to see what it does.
By "under the rods section", do you mean this screen?

I can't find it there, so perhaps my CB is a bit broken (had to reinstall it to get the houserules working) or maybe you meant something else.

Berak stops in his tracks and takes a moment to process the images Isirius sent him, his surprise not at all apparent on his face. He spends another moment to think how to best approach this situation, before turning around and going back to the warden.

- Sorry about that, it seems that our missing companion has turned up with quite a discovery. It is relevant to your interests and we would be pleased if you could accompany us when we go meet him. Sorry about the inconvenience. Just wait for a moment until I gather my companions.

Berak turns to face Quill and then Marek, nodding to them and telling them telepathically:

- Isirius found the scepter. Please, follow me to his location.

He then turns to Gosok, who is standing some distance away from the others and repeats the message.

Once his companions gather near him, Berak leads them and the Warden to where Isirius is standing.

Berak thinks for a moment and then says to the warden:

- I don't think there is much we can do about the ship before we find the Ice Scepter. Without the help of a Magician of considerable ability, even approaching the ship would be suicidal.

Berak looks around for Isirius.

- Since one of our party seems to have wandered off, however, we could stick around to wait for him. We really should be looking for the scepter though. It probably has not left the city yet, since one would assume that the ship would follow it wherever it goes.

- Perhaps, if we locate it, you could send someone to take it out of the city to see whether the ship does indeed follow it. If it does, you could have the scepter taken into the mountains and buried. The ship and the scepter would do no harm there, assuming nobody finds them.

Berak suddenly turns his gaze to somewhere beyond the crowd.

- Ah, do excuse me for a moment. I'll be right back.

Berak nods to the Warden and starts to move towards the place he sensed Isirius reaching out to him.

To be honest, Skill Challenges don't sound particularly interactive or enjoyable, so go ahead.

Seeing Gosok leave, Berak decides he should lower tenseness of the situation a bit and steps to the front.

- I apologise for that. We have not had a proper rest for a while now and this sudden attack has us all on edge. I don't suppose there is anywhere we could rest for a while? The Silver Unicorn Inn appeared to be closed.

Running, can't hear you.

Sorry, I took the wince to mean that it was familiar to you. Guess not then.

I'm kind of amused on how blase reactions from the party to Gosok's reveal are. Gosok is calling winds? Levitating? Calling himself with a different name? Meh, must be tuesday.

He has used similar abilities in battle before, so the part about the winds not really a surprise...

Also, it is uncertain how much our characters already knew about the Aliir thing. At least Isirius seems like he might know something.

Berak observes Gosok's outburst with great interest.
