Angel of Impatience, I found a nuke. I pressed G to pick it up, and the game asked me if I wanted to activate it Y/n

I chose no, and the text said something like "I knew you were a resonable guy"

don't remember the exact quote, but I am certain reasonable was misspelled as resonable

not certain if you get the same message when deciding not the activate a nuke on standard game play. will check it out next time I get the opportunity.

Anyone ever played a little gem called Ragnarok? It's a fantasy roguelike based on Norse mythology, and incredibly random. I remember it being the first roguelike I played, though it did have basic sprites and graphics.

some gems:
-mix potions with random and unexpected results... drink them anyway
-turn into a werewolf, sit back and watch your character go berserk around the map whenever the moon comes out.
-start out as a human, but turn into weird races by eating mushrooms, drinking potions, reading scrolls, etc
-scroll of genocide. name any race and it immediatly goes extinct... not a high-level item either, you could easily find one in the first few minutes or even spawn with one as a scribe.
and yes, you can name human and kill yourself...

congrats! in only five tries, not bad!

you learned an important lesson early that took a long time for me to learn: not all special levels have to be explored/beaten, running away or skipping them is a perfect option

Congrats! But why you do not go Hell Arena? Play AoMC multiple times - it's a best challenge for win Arena damageless. Especially as a scout with starting Int-Int

good question. There was no armour on level 2, and consequently I was pretty low on health so I decided not to risk it. Also I went with SoaG first so I didn't have intuition yet.

my first full win! on HMP, with Angel of Max Carnage (first try)

Scout pistol build. Tried to go for Gun Kata but decided to max intuition first, after SoaG. Amazing raid on Deimos Labs gave me two Nano Packs and a Combat Pistol, so I decided to first level to Whizzkid to craft Anti-Grav Boots, Nano Skin Armor and an Energy Pistol. Unfortunately, it took a while before I found any Plasteel Boots.

I easily cleared the Mortuary, barely taking any damage. JC was also easy as pie, he only got two or three shots off and didn't spawn any monsters before he went down.

Most kills were lost in the Vault and the Abyssal Plains, where I decided to go anywhere to get some extra XP (and loot). The Agony Elemental did go down, but I was running low on health and decided to use a Homing Phase to leave before the dozens of Lost Souls got me.

and yeah, SoaG is incredibly broken with AoMC, Intuition and +++ increased movement speed. Monsters rarely got a shot in.

big discussion that spawned from my post

to clarify: I was playing Angel of Light Travel. With normal playthroughs, I usually carry around one Enviro Suit, especially when I don't have a (homing) Phase Device. Ofcourse, on AoLT it's very difficult to devote a slot. The speed bonus increase might make up for it, though. Next time I'll try running.

Bug Reports / Impossible to reach the exit

I was playing an Angel of Light Travel game on HMP. Scout with duals and hellrunner, leveling to Gun Kata.

Than, on level 12, this happened:



This wasn't the result of barrels exploding; the level was generated this way.

I didn't have a Homing Phase or Environment Suit in my inv, and there were none in the level. Also, I was wearing tactical boots so no fire resistance.There was no way for me to reach the level exit.

My only option was to exit to the Abyssal Plains, for which I was totally unprepared and where I died horribly.

Is this lava river without a bridge intentionally build into the level generator? Is the generator coded that at least one of the (2) exits is reachable?
