I was testing the new version so I started with easy... this was a lucky run: 4 uniques, badges... I could even go for the full win, I had all I needed! But I forgot the right sequence after like over a year without DoomRL... damn.... and just ONE more turn and I'd at least get standard win...

I've noticed that DiabloRL and Berserk! are missing from mobygames.com database (DoomRL and AliensRL are already on site). While I was updating release info for DoomRL there I though it will only help Kornel if someone had submitted info for those 2 games.

What a coincidence: I was playing this game in the recent weeks.

One thing that would probably need a code change (as most of the stuff I believe to be moddable) is the random taunts that really added to game's atmosphere :)

Looks like I'll be one of the very few people who will join Potman's side. "By default" I play a goodie-goodie in all cRPGs - in Fallout series I was always the good spirit of the wasteland helping grannies to cross the street. And I love that good feeling it creates - maybe I'm a good natured person? (LOL! who am I kidding)

But sometimes - when time and game permits - I play both sides (ie: twice), to see all game endings, all cinematics etc. - e.g. in Jedi Knight series (plus frying people with Force Lightning is mmmm.... marvelous! :) I guess Palpie converted Annakin this way: "try it kid, you'll love it, I do that all the time and never get bored" LOL!)
Does playing "TIE Fighter" counts as playing as the bad guy? LOL

Right now I'm trying to go through the KOTOR2 again only to see how it will end if my girl's gonna be a baddie.

But I do enjoy some wanton violence from time to time. In "Gene Wars" I played the chick-side only to gun down those squirming for mercy, whiny men!

I'm trying to never push myself too far. I want my baddies to retain some style, like a fallen dark knight Vader was in original old Star Wars. I wouldn't get the "child killer" trait from Fallout either, even though I sometimes kill civilians in other games.

Well, comments always make reading code easier... that's why programmers never add them: removing the aura of obscurity would make them look less omnipotent in the eyes of the users... ;)

I infer that the top and bottom walls are never present in the editor but added automatically by game?

My guesswork:
CELL_BWALL - b...loody wall? ? ?
CELL_RWALL - red wall?
CELL_PRWALL - permament (indestructible) wall?

PS: Kornel, did you get my PM?

My Collector's edition manuals call them "Former Humans" etc., but I think both names are valid.

But I say: leave them as they are now. I got used to this.

Either I had luck or this challenge is surprisingly easy. I had tons of medkits - I could give away some to charity, LOL! Well, talking about luck: the game bombed twice (sound issue?) but fortunately managed to save my status.

Is there a bug with AoD&D? Please note that the mortem doesn't show ToHit bonus, neither did Character Info screen. Plzfixdiz!

There are like 8 free lines there and I'd like some more info about my avatar. Especially since this is a permadeath game - no time for experimenting, I want to know my whole battle potential.

Some suggestions:

max/current hit points
Bonus damage (ranged)
Bonus damage (melee)
Accuracy bonus
Armor bonus

I've voted for the interim updates. These will give us bugfixes quickly and will maintain the elevated level of interest in the community. I don't see any problems with versions being named 0.9.8.15 - quite on the contrary, I was always against the big increases in ver. numbers when no major changes are present.
