So I met the what I think is a new enemy, the Shambler and I have to say, he kicked my ass like no other. At the 2nd level I found the Gramaton Beretta (which I believe is also new) and owned all the way to Armory and then, BAM ! Totally owned !
What do you guys think about Shambler and other new cool stuff ?

Well eh... he is easy if you know he exists. Cause you'll at least be prepared for the encounter.
-
Yeah, well, I pulled the lever and then just said to myself "Oh a Baron of Hell or something like that and then i suddently started to take damage lol and then I saw him but at that point I took about 40 damage :D
-
The sweet thing is that he appears on the opposite end of the level and you have a clear shot at his position, so with some luck you can rocket launch the bastard to death without even seeing him.

Sweet? Meh. How anti-climatic.
EDIT: Well ok. Maybe if you're at high risk of dying. But otherwise it just ruins the great fun imo. :P

The Shambler only gets quite hard with single weapon builds, namely pistols and shotguns. On AoMr you shouldn't have too many problems as long as you've built towards a damaging pistol build. On AoS you can have quite a bit of difficulty though, whether you've built towards MAD or not (you probably won't be there by the Armoury). The Shambler's armour and regeneration can be very difficult to overcome, often causing you to completely unload a combat shotgun with no long term effect. As soon as the Shambler gets low on health, he'll teleport and then have plenty of time to regenerate the health you just took off him. Just keep blasting away and hope he doesn't teleport too far away. You'll get him eventually (the DB is probably best just for the larger chunks of life you take off him. Combat's and normal shotguns sometimes never seem to take off that last pip of life in time).
Other builds/challenges shouldn't have too much trouble. Whip out a big weapon before you pull the lever and blast away. It's worth using up the ammo considering the mods you'll get. And there's a fair bit of ammo on the level anyway.

I think the Shambler is awesome.
The most annoying part of the Shambler battle is the teleporting/regeneration combo. The Shambler will always run towards the player, but often gets stuck in those little rooms allowing him to regenerate lots of health. I usually use the rocket launcher to bust open some of these rooms to avoid this problem. (Just be sure to leave enough cover for yourself!)

On AoMr he can be a bit tough. Otherwise just prepare a double shotgun, juke into buildings and watch your hp and he'll go down pretty easy. Might have to burn through 2-3 medpaks if you're unlucky though.

Thx for the c00l replies guys. It's nice to see community members help one another :)

To paraphrase a great man who died so others could live,
"we help our own kind".

Ok, i finally killed him today. 1st I tried the rocket launcher trick someone posted, but that didn't work. So i just dual pistoled him. Luckily he didn't teleport even once, so he went down in like 6 shots

I find the best weapon to deal with the shambler is the double shotgun. I just hide near a corner and blast it when it gets into my line of site. I've killed Shamblers without a single scratch by doing this

As Angles of death points out, corner-shooting is an easy way to kill the Shambler.
I've done it with a chaingun and with pistols, too.
You just have to wait for him to show, hide yourself behind the corner and shoot, shoot, shoot :)
