Lucky you should probably move to E6. You'll have +1 Defenses and Resist all 2, and if you're still bloodied you'll have an additional +2 from my Shield the Fallen feat.
If you happened to kill the wolf with your attack or if Isirius manages to kill the wolf with his attack, perhaps moving further to the left would be better?

Sorry for attacking the gnome instead of the wolf. I was hoping that I could take her out before she acts and then Gosok and Isirius could take the wolf out before it acts. With that disappointing damage, I might have not succeeded, so perhaps it was not the best of plans.

Also, I thought that perhaps we could knock her unconscious and question her afterwards. How does that sound?

Berak moves onto the table and fixes Bortek with his baleful gaze, stopping him from coming any closer. He then turns to the gnome and attacks her mind, attempting to knock her unconscious. Perhaps she could answer some questions later.

Move to D6
Minor: Evil Eye of the Vistani at Bortek
Attack (vs Will): 1d20+10=30 (Critical Hit)
Hit: Until EoNT, target can not willingly move closer to Berak and grants Berak combat advantage.
Standard: Mind Thrust with Augment 2 using Guidance of the Past, trying to knock the Gnome Illusionist unconscious
Attack (vs Will): 1d20+9=18,28 - choose the higher result=28
   Damage: 2d20+9+2=18 (psychic)

That barbarian guy seems really dangerous, so I'm going to focus on keeping him away from us for a few turns. I think that is the best use of my abilities right now. So try to not get too close to him (no closer that 5 squares) and focus on the other enemies.

On that note, we really can't stay so close together with that illusionist around. I don't know whether we can mob the illusionist or spread out before getting rid of at least one of the wolves though.

I think you could use your Amulet of Life with that heal that Marek gave you.

EDIT: Or can he? When I considered that item, I thought you could. But perhaps I was wrong and you can only use it on your own turn.

The slide happens regardless of whether I hit or miss. Sorry for being unclear. I should have put the slide effect before the attack roll, like it is written in the power's description. I'll fix it.

Sorry LockyDee, the barbarian is no longer adjacent to you, I kind of moved him to A13, so your attack only hits the wolf. Sorry. Perhaps this causes you to rethink your action? Or if the DM allows, my turn could be counted as having been taken after yours (allows me to edit my post so that I delay my action until after yours).

Seeing the barbarian charge at Isirius and hurt him badly, Berak grabs Bortek with his mind and hurls him into a corner, trying to hit a wolf on the way and hoping to give Isirius a chance to recover.

To Berak, the man seems somewhat desperate to get the scepter. If they don't give it to him, there will be trouble. He assumes that Isirius has also noticed it, but still lets him know telepathically, just in case.

Something about the young woman caught Berak's eye. For a moment, it seemed as if she was not real. He considers the idea for a moment. The Winter King's subjects they met before were undead. Would he even have living subjects? For a second, Berak regrets not having a ritual to detect undead. He decides to rectify that as soon as he gets a chance.

He concentrates his attention towards the woman, eyeing her actions closely and probing her for magical effects.

Stepping into the room, Berak finds the sight somewhat unexpected. Listening to the exchange between the man and Isirius, he thinks that Isirius makes a good point. Staying slightly back, he tries to read the man's intentions.

He also looks around the room, searching for indications that this might be a trap.

Turning to face Marek.

- Wait, think about it a bit. What is it that you hope to gain by placing the scepter into the pillar? I think we should leave it be. At best, it would do nothing, at worst, it is a trap. Lets see what is behind these doors first. Perhaps later we will have a reason to try the pillar.

Turning to Quill.

- Perhaps it would be best you hide the scepter for now. Just in case.

Berak, who has been watching the others examining the room, steps closer and says:

- It is highly unlikely that putting the Scepter into the column would have any effect. Any magic that would have made it possible is no longer active. Consider this: The column and the scepter most likely kept this place frozen. Why do you think the Winter King sent the ship to fetch the scepter? I doubt his intention is to get frozen again. He would not just give us such an obvious chance to make that happen. He most likely wants the scepter to end up in his own hands.

After a moment's thought, he continues.

- Also, we should not forget that part of our reason for being here is making sure of Winter King's intentions. Should he prove to be a threat to the lands, it would be advisable to not let him have the scepter.

Berak walks quietly to the double doors and examines them. He tries to detect any sound from the other side of the doors.

Berak nods to Marek and follows Gosok to the tunnel. Once there, he carefully moves towards the the chamber, testing the air for signs of magic and looking for doors or openings that might lead beyond the chamber.

Berak takes a moment to consider the feeling he had about the walls of this place.
Quote
Dungeoneering check with Guidance of the Past: 2#1d20+7=25,10. Use the higher result=25

He deems it too risky to venture into the tunnel alone. The gem on his chest turns dark and he goes back to the ship, passing Quill on the way, to tell the others what he saw.
