Chickens. That was how AoD worked prior to .994 (or .993?). And yes, there was a level layout that was later removed from the game - tight maze, so... :>
I should try AoD/AoMr for marksman angelic, looks like it wouldn't be too hard with cateye. The probles as always to survive first levels and to pass anomaly.
Anyone know how AoD respawn interacts with N! respawn?

Requests For Features / Re: AoMr & Limbo/Mortuary

I think that mortuary is the place where you should show what you can, it's too late to improve there. What's the point of reward, where you should use it? On spidey? He can be killed with simple pistol easily.

? Like you could use Arena Master Staff to abolish the wall
No, there is no secret way to remove this wall. But if you are lucky you can find alucard's gun with fire damage and blast through wall with it. Or plasma shotgun/plasmatic shrapnel in AoSh.

Nightmare! / Re: [N!|YAAM|YAFW] Double Angelic
« on: April 14, 2013, 02:37 »
Thanks for the props, I think for N! 100% ammochain is a no-brainer, but it's probably possible with other builds.
Surely it's possible. Made it with usual cateye-whizkid-dodgemaster. Actually I dont see a point of MAc since you can always farm some poor arachno for more cells, but accuracy and tactical information helps you to kill demons where it need to be killed. So different people, different approaches (but i dont really think that someone want to made it with some crappy entrenchment).
Nice with though. It was a great luck that hell armory was spawned instead of deimos lab (seriously it need real nerfing on N!)

I heard you get an entry to the uniques list even if you just try to wield it without success.
It worked that way in .996.

22
Saw is many times too. But this isn't a bug, it's a feature of new melee AI (implemented in .995 afair).

Theoretically you can appear on cell near the stairs on every level (except Anomaly and Babel, but this isn't different from HNTR). So this challenge is doable on UV (and even N!). We can move on now.
No skill or fun here, just bruteforcing level generator. You can even calculate a probability of this.

24
You should compare AoB with no-melee-kills AoLT :> Then everything goes on right places.

Srsly guys, I was the only one who voted for Gutt's heart? You need to spawn DS (and that is... difficult), wield it and then go not for A, but for poor SM? It doesn't have any sense.
GCB cross\Gambler shield is just for random. Nothing interesting or challenging.

26
That wa a lot of luck. Too bad some challenges only doable that way.

27
Yes, i just ran to the stairs. I had everything I need to kill SM and, on other hand, there was no reliable source of  bullets (that problem wasn't solved by .997's elite formers). So why should i risk?

Post Mortem / [N!|AoMr+AoLT|YAVP|Marksman/Lightfoot Diamonds]

Well, as always the main problem of this game was to survive first levels with killrate good enough to get DG by lvl3 and DM by Babel. Half of my doomguys died before chained court (and getting SoG3+EE1), half of survivers died in anomaly/deimos1 or 2 (because anomaly exausted their supplies), but this was only second who passed Cyberdemon.
And to be honest GCB isn't good at all if not in the hands of sharpshooter.

Discussion / Re: Opinions on new special levels needed!
« on: April 06, 2013, 14:42 »
Well, now I played a lot of .997 games and I must say one thing: phobos lab must be completely remade. First problem in the demons (and especially N!demons) in caves. This is just blunt, you cannot prepare to them, you cannot do something skillful and tricky to them, you cannot avoid them, you must just go and waste your health. And if you're some kind of glasscannon doomguy - well, you suck and suck hardly. Next is ambushes. It's the same, without twodev's strange no-damage magic you must go right into a trap. Two times. No matter what will you do, its unavoidable.
I also think that this level must have an emergency exit, by walking on acid. Switches then should spawn bridge and reward.

And also I must agree with Equality that "chain"-feeling of special levels was broken, now it is mostly a random extra encounters.

To be honest, without AoMC the only major difference is Hell's Armory/Deimos Lab, since you're lacking firepower you have to be more careful against the commandos, specially if you dont have a plasma rifle yet. I could probably afford not to go straight to intuition without AoMC, which means more SoB to deal with the shamblers. AoMC just lets me play ballsier since knockback and damage is so consistent.

Some dual angels certainly make some badges trivial, but IMO this one is just tradeoffs.
Nope, it is really easy,  did it just now with all but lava pits special levels, 87% killrate and JC. Max Carnage makes everything much easier. I guess I should look at few diamonds that I haven't yet. Lighfoot? Inquisitor, Eagerness, Masochist?
