Announcements / Re: ChaosForge Donation Drive!
« on: November 24, 2012, 04:14 »
So, where's that announcement?
Here. :D

47
Sounds like the perfect time to screw with the balance! :D

Enemy spawning isn't hard at all, the mechanics are already in game. The only really unique bits are the new monster (not hard to code), and the special requirements of the weapon.

49
I like the idea of a rapid-fire specific area, and this level you designed may not be balanced per se, but has a good feel as presented. Not sure about the Unique item mentioned (there are a lot of new things to add for just one unique) but regardless, I think this could be adapted slightly to make things work.

I'd suggest a lamp and a heating rock for winter. Leave the rock on all the time (it drains less energy anyhow), and in a somewhat sheltered place so he can hide and be on it at the same time.

Snakes are awesome, and I'm sorry to hear your last one passed on. Rust was the first name that came to mind, looking at him.

DiabloRL / Re: DiabloRL Beta Testers needed!
« on: November 01, 2012, 05:03 »
If you're wanting to develop, the code is open sourced and available on SourceForge. You can take a look at the code there, but if you're looking to commit changes I suggest hopping onto #chaosforge on the Quakenet IRC. There are a few people there who you can chat with about your ambitions. As for here on the ChaosForge, I'll let Kornel field the beta testing side of things.

You should run it in console mode (use the .bat file if you're using windows) for a real treat. ;)

Glad to hear you liked it. I can't speak for the rest, but I will still start up Doom95 now and then. There are so many different portals for slaying hell's minions, it's hard to choose!

Finally! A reason to learn wiki-formatting!

With a bit of luck on the Super Typhoon side, the God Hand should be back in business and able to set up that wiki within days. Jet lag, hangovers, and weather permitting.

Give him around 48 hours.  He should be back by then.  =)
I think this estimate may be generous. Also, he will still need to get rid of the hangover as well. Whiskey is not his drink.

DoomRLArena 3 is an excellent game in my opinion, only the on-line requirement for SP and spotty servers the first month were a bother.

Fixed, using time travel.

Requests For Features / Re: Polished product

I don't fiddle with the mouse very much, but I believe I saw GrAVit using it to scroll the map without using [L]ook mode in the videos in this thread. If I wasn't hallucinating then that should solve the problem...if you have a mouse.

Unopenable doors would make N! games a little harder though.

Make that two votes for including it. :D

You could always change the sprite sheet.... >.> Which is totally not helpful at all.

... I assume some of that is for mood and atmosphere so do what you can. ...
You are correct that the darkness is for atmosphere, but we will see what can happen. Well, unless it's decided that the character is short sighted and half blind to explain the darkness. :D

I really can't get used to using the mouse to play, but you may it look so easy. Maybe I'll give it a go.

Well done on your videos.

For those interested, it appears there are also two more movies (parts 2 and 3) currently posted, as well:
Part 2 and Part 3.
