I'm not sure i understand what you mean by trait in vacuum. Master is a combination of the trait itself and all bonuses from required traits plus blocked traits.
With Blademaster you can take down not city of skulls but groups of arch-viles, mancubi and revenants in a matter of in-game seconds.You simply run from one target to next while things die along your path. This trait shines when you can kill your enemy in one hit - and with weapon from unholy cathedral you're basically guaranteed to do so while in berserk.

My imho:
Hellrunner is useful to all builds. Even if you're playing rapid-fire or pistol build.
Also making fireproof red is mostly a waste for MMB build (unless for Cybie or purpose written lower). With default red you'll take more than one damage if attack deals more than (1+4)*4=20 damage. And rolls of 21 and higher are pretty rare.
Small trick(not sure, perhaps it's obvious) : assembling fireproof armor restores your durability to 100. So first you can use red armor, then use bulk mod when it gets damaged, then when it's nearly destructed slap T-mod and once again you got armor with 100/100.
It's pretty much the same with ballistic armor: simple red reduces nearly all damage from melee,shotgun and bullets to 1. No need to assemble ballistic red.

Oh, and please don't call Blademaster the weakest of melee builds. With powerful weapon(LS/AS/DS/double chainsaw) you can rip any number of enemies without even getting hurt if you're fast. And MBm can be very fast.

Added: EE and pistols. Basic pistols have 74% chance to hit the target on the edge of vision. With EE1 this gets improved to 91% on the edge. That's very noticeble.

Added2: SoB works perfectly well with shotguns. Everyone knows how powerful MAD is, but as most of the enemies have 2 armor, in terms of effect it's the same as taking SoB4 and not having MAD. Now what happens if you have both MAD and levels in SoB? Exactly.

Tanking with 18 hp? Meh, i'd take my chances with 12hp, Berserker and 4 traits of my own choosing.
Honestly i think that this chance to take no damage should be given to Entrenchment and increased, while MSv should be reworked. Not sure how.

Or on AoMC you can actually try passing HA without corpse-stacking. It requires some luck, but it's possible.
Int2 is the most sensible choice. Without it you're asking for trouble (unless you're you-know-who).

I would like to encourage creativity when getting badges.
There's no creativity in getting something via AoOC. Rush 7 levels, win. Optionally take nuclear BFG from Mortuary/Limbo. Skill, strategy, weapon choice? Meh, just run and run.
Same with AoMC - free damage and accuracy boost?Sure, why not.

Getting old Marksman Diamond via Vampire - now that was creative.

He already stated that he has plasma shotgun to gib corpses and to destroy walls.
If he starts using plasmatic shrapnel assembly every time he tries to cornershoot he will screw his cover. And that's never desirable.
While having plasma shotgun making plasmatic shotgun on MAD build is probably the best way to waste resources while also trying to kill yourself.

That's exactly what i meant, i know that picking it up has nothing to do with spawning it as it can be randomized.

Added: i met DS once and i gave up on trying to figure out the way to pick it up. So now i only hope that it doesn't spawn to taunt me.

Plasma shotguns tend to destroy walls when you cornershoot.
And sinse you're playing with MAD you couldn't care less about damage type, it's all piercing for you.
So for general usage elephant is better, for some desperate open-field fighting use plasma shotgun.
Do not assemble plasmatic anything, it's a waste for MAD build.

Me and my friend speculated about that and he suspects that you need to do some number(about 4 or so) of special levels damageless. Arena and some others. You're not required to play entirely damageless, that's for sure.

About getting Gatekeeper diamond:
Getting phaseshift armor from arena on AoHu, taking HR and wearing tac boots gets you enough speed to simply outrun initial ambush. After that it's quite easy. Though in the end i never got to Cybie, so no diamond for me.
