Wow, it's been such a long time.
I got bogged down in real life issues and disappeared off the face of the earth for quite some time.
However, recently i've had a little more spare time on my hands, and recently while cleaning out my laptop I found my old 9.9 beta release of DoomRL, which reminded me of you guys.
I don't know if i'll even be active at all, but I just thought that since Chaosforge is still alive and running, I thought i'd pop in and say hi to all my old friends here, if anyone remembers me.
Also a huge shout out to Kornel for his dedication and all the supporters. I still owe you one.
I see a few familiar faces still around the place.
I also see that the wiki is still up and running in good hands. Sorry for kinda disappearing on you guys like that =|
So, if anyone remembers me and my nooby days, feel free to say hi! Also, how much has changed since 9.9? Admittedly i'm a lazy bugger and couldn't find the changelog during the brief time I was on the wiki.
Is V still the face of death, or is there something even worse (Without spoiling those secrets).
Also, I notice that there's another artifact linked to the Dragonslayer, with the pickup condition being "Weild the Dragonslayer". Is that still one of the biggest secrets or did someone leak it while I was gone? =o

There are lots of things scarier than a V these days. In fact, the M has a big boost and there are other... scary things about.
You're back in time for a very interesting development in Chaosforge. A very interesting development indeed.

The Mancubus got a big boost? And I thought that AoE was bad back in the day.
I hope that the master talents got finalized then, or something like that.
What kind of interesting stuff is going on?
I'll go take a look at downloading the latest version a little later and see if I can work out what's changed. Have some work to do at the moment.

I... can't say anything about the interesting stuff. You've gotta poke about the Tavern or Temple for that.
Master Traits are finalised, and now there are character classes.
You should just download 0.9.9.7 to play. Heheheheh...

EDIT: Woah, 100MB? I'm definitely looking forward to this. Now to wait it out on my 56k connection...

Get the LQ version. That's much smaller... >.<
The 100MB one has higher quality music I think.

Well, I finished downloading it, and i'm playing the game right now writing up a commentary from an old person's perspective, to post along with the mortem. It's really, really great so far.

As a relatively new player, I'm looking forward to read your impression on how the game evolved. I hope that commentary will be a long one :-)

Yeah, I can't wait to see those. I've seen the Angel of 666, which I presume is a buffed up Ao100.
Not that it needed to be buffed up.
I see a lot of mention of 2dev. What's that about? Is it saying that the difficulty is so hard that it'd take 2 of the devs to do it?
I can't imagine anything harder then Blade difficulty.
