I've lost the mortem file indeed.
But I don't want to be seen as a cheater, I made a Iron Skull run one more time now and edited the post to the new mortem.

I don't know why the kill count in the first mortem is that ridiculous.. maybe I've pasted that part from another wrong mortem? Geez.

"Iron Skull" : Take 10000+ damage in one game (prohibited on Angel of 100/Archangel of 666)


The only way to get this is to take Vampyre trait and meet pain elementals and get hit by lost souls over and over again,...
and kill lost souls to recover yourself.

City of Skulls/Abyssal Plains are best, but pain elemental cave or normal pain elemental can be alternatives.

After taking 10000 damage, I was too sleepy and boring, and made silly mistake to run into two mancubi.

Anyway, another medal is gained. Yuck.

Int 2 in melee build? Come on.

You must start with Brute->Berserker first. Berserker trait is a must (except for Malicious Blade trait for Technicians)



Vampyre: Bru->Bru->Ber->Bru->Bad->Vampyre->TaN->TaN->Fin or whatever you want

Blademaster: Bru->Bru->Ber->HR->HR->Bru->Blademaster->Fin or whatever you want

Malicious Blades: HR->Bru->HR->Bru->DM->Fin->Malicious Blades
(Malicious Blades BLOCKS Berserker trait)


Don't go Eagle Eye for melee build, it is useless once you got Bru 3+.

And if you want fist-only challenges, go Brute 3 first before Berserk trait.

I have a better idea, +5 HP and +10 speed on each respawn -- after 10 kills, you'll be in serious trouble even if it's a former. And with no extra gain for killing it.

This is a good idea, but then N! difficulty itself would become insanely harder (as one must kill same monsters at least 1~3 times).

So, how about setting +5 HP and +10 speed on each respawn AFTER RESPAWNED 3 TIMES?

Thanks. Almost every Diamond badges are extremely tougher than Platinum ones....
So I expect I could not gather them fast like I did on Platinum ones...

First I'll try Gatekeeper Diamond. This looks easiest.. *sigh*

On Nightmare! difficulty (or on Angel of Darkness), monsters respawn continuously unless you destroy their corpses.

However, one can make use of this to fill kill rate for some challenge,
that is, suppose that you have 300/500 (60%) kill rate so far and only 1 enemy is remaining in that floor.

One can think to kill it and wait until it respawns, and kill it again and again, ...
so that to extend his kill rate slightly larger again and again.

If you do so 1000 times, then the kill rate becomes 1300/1500 (86%).
If you do so 10000 times (I wonder if how crazy guy will do this, but, anyway)
then the kill rate becomes 10300/10500 (98%).
After making it sufficiently large enough, then you can get large enough kill rate even after skipping all of later levels.


So, I think that there must be a limit of respawning mosters (like 20~30 times),
or a limit of counting kills(of course with generating counts, simultaneously) of same monster.

In AoRA/ArchAoRA, if you find a inv globe and take it just before nuke explodes,
then every monsters in that floor is included in the kill count. (Am I right?)

Quartermaster Angelic badge requires clearing ArchAoRA on UV with 80+% kills,
but since one can save on UV, so some might can get this easily by savescumming (load until inv globe appears).

I think these kill count (Inv+Nuke that you didn't installed) should be excluded (except for Cyberdemon/SMM/JC).

"Quartermaster Platinum" : Clear Angel of Red Alert on Nightmare!


In AoRA, speed of character is nearly everything important.
You should set status as "running" in most times of confronting enemies.
So, Gunrunner + Shottyman is most plausible approach.

Gunrunner + Shottyman trait applies not only with shotgun, it DOES apply to rocket/missile launchers.
Of course, be careful of using shotgun/rockets - so that you won't harm from splash damage from exploding barrels/direct rocket volley.


The main consideration in later parts is how to supply shotgun shells,
since time is limited so you cannot stack shotgun shells as much as you want by waiting revive of sergeant corpses.

So,
1. Do not waste your shells by cornering enemies from afar.
If you have to kill enemies by cornering, drag enemies sufficiently near and then start cornering.

2. Make use of plasma rifle and save shotgun shells/rockets for harsh fight.
Note that Gunrunner + Shottyman BLOCKS Whizkid/Son of a bitch.



Fighting SMM, my shotgun shell, plasma cells, rockets, red armor.. everything is burned out..
It was a really close fight. Phew.


Anyway, I got all Platinum badges by completing this run.
I'll start diamond hunting from now on!

AoD run has three drawbacks - your vision is decreased by 6, all other area in the map cannot be scouted, monsters respawn.
But the third one is not a problem since the difficulty is already N!.


Intuition 2 + Cateye are must, you cannot manage this challenge without them.
So before getting Cateye, AoD is extremely hard, but once you got it,
things get relatively easier, as the experience gain is doubled.

On late stages, make full use of the double exp gain, so kill monsters as much as you can.
Speed-like traits like Hellrunner/Finesse help you a lot.

Before entering the Limbo, my doomguy was already on Lv.19 and had Cateye+Juggler+Dodgemaster+HR3+Fin3+SoB4.
I had BFG and 850+ power cells (thanks to backpack) so decided to enter there.

Limbo is more difficult than Mortuary - nightmare arachnotrons and nightmare cacodemons appear.
However, you can take advantage from lava as you can dispose nasty corpses
of enemies into lava pool to prevent resurrection of them (exclusively on N!)



Also I was pretty lucky to get Gatekeeper Diamond here. One phase device just lead me to near the exit! Whoa!

"Shottyman Diamond" : Win Angel of Shotgunnery on Nightmare! with 80+% kills



A very solid run.

At the first time I tried Army of the Dead tree, but reaching lv6 was extremely difficult,
and even after reaching lv6, most of them were killed or lost everything (armors, medpacks, ...) on Anomaly because of low speed of marine.
N! is too tough for me without intuition :(


The main obstacle was lack of shotgun shells, as tactical shotgun and double shotgun are too weak to take down later enemies.
On Hell levels, if you encounter sergeants, you should not destroy their corpses until you get 400~450+ shotgun shells.


Fighting with SMM, my shotgun shells almost ran out, but fortunately I could manage to kill it. Phew!

I'm getting used to Nightmare! difficulty more and more.
Here I got Demonic Platinum (Winning standard game on Nightmare! + "Explorer" badge)

The biggest profit of this run was that I learned how to clear Nightmare! Phobos Lab easily.
Hellrunner 2lv is necessary, and, the key is CLOSING THE DOOR in the starting room after once you lured some nightmare demons.
Then nightmare demons loams on acid pools, so if you just wait behind the door, then eventually they commit suicide.
Be sure that you've thrown every humanoid corpses into the acid pool.
If zombies revives and open doors with nightmare demons, you'll face a huge problem.
I just used 2 small medpacks there.



I also had some opportunities to get Reaper Platinum (Clearing Mortuary/Limbo on N!), but failed.
I just bombarded BFG shots to arch-viles and cleaned corpses,
but the power cell was not enough to clean all of them, and my ammo ran out, so I just fled.
On second thoughts, I think I should clean right side first and take nuclear BFG and make use of it.
I cleaned left side first here.. pfft.



Anyway.. 5 Platinum badges are remaining.

Gatekeeper (passing anomaly on N! + no damage) / Reaper (clearing mortuary/limbo on N!)
and Angel of Shotgunnery/Angel of Red Alert/Angel of Darkness N! win.

I hope I get all of them soon.

Enemies' accuracy become much higher on UV and N! difficulty (+2, that is, roughly 15~25%).
So chaingunners and arachnotrons are tougher and more nasty.

Also in N! difficulty, player get speed -10% penalty, and in monsters' AI, attack chance is increased by +50%.
--> Imps burst fireballs like crazy and you cannot outrun them easily.
--> Shouldn't ever face directly arachnotrons and mancubi, and if face them, you must get close to them asap and use plasma rifle.
