Bug Reports / Re: (0.9.9) *bug* See enemies out of LOS

Okay, here it is. There was an imp right there in the hole in the targeting...

Since I was in the targeting menu I had to minimize and take a windows screenshot

I think Fireangel sounds too much like "Angel of..", maybe "Fireproof" or something.  ("You no longer fear the heat of all hells combined.") Perhaps it could reduce lava damage and arch-vile flames too? Might make it a little more tempting.

Yeah, random id softerware engineers are okay I guess but i'd love custom random names.  I suppose I'll have to donate ;)

Bug Reports / (0.9.9) *bug* See enemies out of LOS
« on: October 21, 2009, 13:33 »
Anyways, last night I was playing v0.9.9 (Thank you, Kornel!) on WinXP and I noticed that when I was firing around blind corners I could determine the location of enimies out of my line of sight.  If I moved my target selector past where I thought the badie was, the monster would appear as a missing asterix in my line of fire.

*edit*

Perhaps I spoke too soon, I can't get this bug to reproduce either.  I tried again last night...  I did notice that *sometimes* the targeting system seems to remember targets you can't see.

Requests For Features / User Selectable Random Names?
« on: October 20, 2009, 16:11 »
Hi, first post, but I've been enjoying DoomRL for awhile now.  I'm starting to have a hard time coming up with clever names after a few hundred games but I don't want to use the same name everytime... I thought it might be neat if the doomrl.ini had an editable list of first and last names and would pair them together randomly.

It would be lots of fun and I could tell my PCs apart in the graveyard when I'm banging my head against the AoB wall.
