My first standard Nightmare win! No Sereging, no Max Carnage, just standard nightmare, 100% kills. Found a Super Shotgun in Hell, which was perfect for MSh. Cleared City of Skulls damageless! Now I just need 1 more Platinum to reach 'General'.
This was enormously satisfying, I feel like I have joined an exclusive club :-)

Oh, wow! This is awesome! :D Too bad you didn't get a nuke for a full win, because this could have become a really nice Veteran Angelic badge too! :)
And yeah, Shottyhead is very good for avoiding damage by keeping enemies away from you, but I have to wonder; did it make it difficult to do corpse-stacking and other body-disposal? In my experience, you fire your weapon so fast, that enemies quickly end up at the edge of your range, which I imagine might make it difficult to control where the bodies end up.

I carted a nuke though most of Hell, but there was no Invul on floor 7 (and I skipped Lava Pits since I have no Envirosuits). Body disposal was 70% doorways (lots of camping, my run/wait is set very high), 20% liquids, and 10% rockets. Practically no stacking (after the Arena where its pretty much required) . Never got a Tactical Shotgun (only 1 Power mod the whole game, and it was very near the end)- so I was very much run and gun, or hide/shoot/knockback/reload/wait/repeat.

How does one even beat the Arena on Nightmare? O_o

I recently got the 'Hell Arena Pwnage Medal' for clearing Nightmare area damageless :-)
I used very careful corpse stacking (and a LOT of shells). Basically kill a Caco with corner shooting, stand on its corpse until a demon comes (run/wait for a LONG time, mine is set to 10,000), then make sure the demon dies on the Caco corpse. Repeat. Having juggler really helps, e.g. if the 1st shot doesnt knock your target back, you can insta-switch to your other shottie and fire again.
The hard bit is getting into a nice corner shooting position where you aren't being mobbed from all sides at once. Run away in a zig zag, and stay away from walls or you will get hit with splash.
