Bug Reports / [0.9.9.3] HMP Angel of Light Travel - SOB Level 5??

Playing the Angel of Light Travel on HMP at first the SOB was capped at level 3 as expected, but later after I got Whizkid suddenly a level 4 and even 5 was choosable. Needless to say I grabbed it ;-) Still, I guess that's a bug.
Also learned something: in lava pits 2 phase devices aren't nearly as good as a second env.suit. Damn things spawned me right next to stairs TWO times..there goes the full win..

Is it a bug or are Angels of Haste not awarded with Icarus Crosses?
Even if the case it doesn't say so in the description.

Bug Reports / [0.9.9.1] Gothic Armor Immobilize Bug

I was playing a game of Angel of 100 and had found and equipped Gothic Armor.
Then, a couple of hundred turns and 2 levels later all of a sudden comes the message "You are immobilized, feel like a fortress" and I can't move anymore.
I hadn't switched any other equipment, just from one move to the next this kicks in.
Other equipment was plasteel boots and I never even had found gothic boots in that game..
Unequipping boots or armor didn't help either, I had to suicide ...
What pisses me off most was the game was going well too

Bug Reports / not quite a bug but maybe such a thing shouldn't happen

This is a screenshot from my current game of AoB on Medium diff.
What looks perfectly ordinary, changes when I tell you that this 'h' you see is the ONLY enemy on this level .. (plus, to top it of, there's 2 berserker packs, a supercharge AND an inv. globe lying around) ... I don't know how likely this is going to happen again, but maybe you can prevent it somehow altogether,
Maybe with i minimum number of enemies per level?

Requests For Features / Substitute for sounds for the hearing impaired

since the game balance / difficulty apparently is based on the ability to hear monsters, not being able to is highly frustrating
okay, in my case it's just that the workstations at work don't have soundcards, so maybe I should just stop whining..
still, it got me thinking
what if there were an optional (.ini-file-controlled) feature that displayed a short message rather than playing the monster sound
Something like *grunt* (former human) or *hiss*(cacodemon) in the top message line, maybe even in the approbiate monster colour?
okay, you couldn't tell the direction or distance, but still it would be a great improvement.
or maybe sounds from the left/right could be displayed left/right-aligned in the message line
what do you think? would this in any way be realizable? or even welcomed by anyone but me :-p?

HA! that was easy! Did it on the second attempt with AoB.

Since I played the old version (0.9.8) mostly without sound I now find it way too easy with sound, but that's what we got difficulty levels for right?

Since I played the old version (0.9.8) mostly without sound I now find it way too easy with sound, but that's what we got difficulty levels for right?

if there's an item lying on the stairs it's impossible to find it by any means I tried, other than removing every item by trial and error .. meeeh. ..
.) line of sight won't work when you used a computer map
.) 'l'ook command doesn't give a clue, only describes the item lying there
.) neither does the 'X' command (I would consider implementing it there in any case)
maybe the easiest solution would be to make it impossible to drop items on stairs?
or maybe like in some games (ADOM) where you have a command to show the map without items

Bug Reports / Prepared Weapons can't be accessed by number-keys

When I put my chaingun as prepared weapon I can't access it via the "6"-key
on second thought this is probably meant to be so, so that you can't accidentally switch prepared weapons the more time-consuming way,
still the message says "You don't have a chaingun!" which is kinda misleading
