Why get EE for the Scythe when Brute gives the same bonus and gives +2 damage?

Discussion / Re: Ratatatata: The Joy of Chainfiring
« on: March 25, 2013, 10:17 »
I find myself chainfiring a lot in UV. I set up a corner shoot position with Knights and Barons and mow 'em down. I wouldn't be able to do enough damage to a Baron at the edge of my vision range to kill him before he gets in range without chainfire. The way I set it up is with my wait time set to a high number, I find a good position and just wait for them to come to me. If I'm not careful though I can get ambushed.

When playing rapid fire, I stay away from corners because getting surprised by a demon when you're holding a chaingun sucks balls. So demons always show up at the range of my vision, chainfire again helps, especially if I can't/haven't yet taken EE.

Dammit. I wonder if donating $3 is sufficient and not just offensive.
Make it twenty and we'll see about getting you access to the beta... *wink wink*

Requests For Features / Re: Allow saving in N!

(Although, I swear the reason is because I have an ancient, crappy computer which doesn't do any kind of recording very well)
Sounds like a worthy target for a Kickstarter campaign!

Requests For Features / Re: Balance suggestions
« on: February 21, 2013, 22:18 »
T might be underused in assemblies, but they're still the best weapon mod. A combat shotty with a single T mod can fire and pump in about the same time it takes a tactical/unmodded assault shotty to fire. Save Ps for armor if not taking WK. If any mod needs rebalancing I think it's bulk, if only to reduce its drop rate in favor of other mods. I always end up leaving a bunch on the ground. I don't like making fireproof/ballistic armor because of the maluses to melee/fire.

Not switching to Tactical Armor at the start of the level is what killed you, I think. Cerberus phaseshift gives a 5% net drop in movespeed, A-modded Tac Armor gives 30% improvement. I don't think the 30% melee resist was worth it. You would have moved significantly faster than the demons, giving you a lot more time to deal with them. Hyperblaster would have probably been better than the assault shotgun, reloading those things takes forever without reloader.

Don't assemble cerberus armor with gothic. It reduces protection to zero. You'll be stuck with 100% movement penalty and the same resistances/protection than if you'd put it on onyx.

Put it on onyx or duelist.

You're complaining about decent weapons when you find a Jackhammer? The Jackhammer isn't a weapon, it's a gift from God, deserving of an immediate build strategy shift. Nothing wrecks demons like the Jackhammer.

Discussion / HKs and Barons wearing armor
« on: January 24, 2013, 16:11 »
Is there a real reason why we can't see whether Barons or HKs are wearing armor or not?

Discussion / Re: Using Juggler to avoid reloading.
« on: January 13, 2013, 21:35 »
This is intended behavior, in the last version pressing the number keys got you the weapon with the least number of rounds in it. Now it gives you a fully loaded one. So you can carry around multiple combat shottys or chainguns for this purpose. It's a trade-off, more weapons means fewer medkits/ammo.

Access Violation... Either you're missing a dependency or you've run into a bug. What OS are you on?

Edit: your log says Windows.

Speaking of which, when is a good time to use the necroarmor? It ruined a game the first time I found it, and I havnt put in on since.
Necroarmor is a great general-purpose armor, I'd easily pick it over red, even P-modded red which has the same protection and fire resistance to boot. Reason is two-fold. First, generally speaking, armor shards are much rarer than health pickups, and with Necroarmor each health pickup effectively acts as an armor shard. Second is the speed boost, there are very few body armors in the game that boost speed, and speed is the most powerful stat in the game when maxed out.

You do have to keep a closer eye on your health when you have it on, and be quicker to use medkits or take the armor off if you run out, but the benefits are worth it.

Didn't have a nuke? You cleared the Mortuary, I see. You could have just overloaded the nuclear plasma rifle.

Even in a UV run you typically don't get the Master trait until Hell's Armory.

Oh, here it is!
Damn, having a plasma rifle and modded red armor to do the wall with would kick ass. Can't do that in this version. Fucking Barons eat way too many shells. You're lucky at dlev7 to even have a double shotty.
