Howdy,

After first playing back in early 2006/late 2005 (I really can't remember, sorry!), I saw the Cyberdemon once before I stopped playing for... well, some odd reason. I don't remember, truthfully. Anyway, about a week and a half ago, I find myself craving a roguelike, and I am reminded of Doom RL. I get my hands on it, and today, after 36 hours and 56 minutes and 135 marine corpses spread across Phobos (some even on the surface when I got bitter and decided to emo-rage after losing the health packs), I have finally slain the Cyberdemon.

This game I have to say I was silly lucky - got my hands on the Railgun and the Plasma Rifle in the armory, basically three shot the Shambler with the aforementioned, and ripped my way down to hell where I stumbled upon a Revenant's launcher that I used to bombard the hell out of Mr. Cyberdemon with when standing safely around a corner. I got awfully close to death when I stopped taking it seriously, trying to go up front against two Mancubi aided by an Arch Vile... followed directly by the same. Again. On a slightly higher level I got knocked down to 8% health from one lone Mancubus and had my armor ruined, but luckily I had enough Health Packs to last a life time. Well, so I thought, until the aforementioned Arch Vile/Mancubi packs.

Anyway, it's nothing spectacular by any means - but here is the mortem. Rawr.

I've done it on Angel of Berserk. All you need is a certain item that makes a lovely noise when hitting enemies...

D'oh, know I should've picked one of those up :P. Will do so next time.

Requests For Features / Silly but maybe fun idea
« on: February 22, 2006, 20:36 »
Hello,

Got this idea out of boredom - Basically, a game mode called somethingoranother (how low can you go :P), where you are faced with an endless onslaught of levels. However, there's no 'beating' it by killing the Cyberdemon or anything else, rather, they'd be encountered as "normal" enemies after a certain level has been reached, though for this idea for work one would need more monsters inbetween the difficulty of Arachnotron and Cyberdemon, and possibly beyond :).

Can the angel of ICTOADN ressurect a ressurected monster?

As said,
Quoting: Excrucior
Monsters can't respawn more then once this way.

Also it'd be more The cyberdemon dies! The cyberdemon stands back up! The Cyberdemon dies! The cyberdemon stands back up! (After approx 200 deaths he'd die by you punching him ;))

I used Megazeux once upon a time, though now I only hang about on the forums. Gonna try to get myself together and learn Java. Know some *VERY* basic... Basic. And C++. Really basic stuff.

Requests For Features / Graphs for DooM Roguelike
« on: February 19, 2006, 13:27 »
Hello,

I like the sprites, though as Kornel Kisielewicz said, probably would be more fitting to have them darker. I hope to see them in the game, because that way, I could make some @ phobic people play DoomRL :>.

Hello,

I got an idea that I thought of out of boredom while reading this topic...

Angel of can'tthinkofadecentname:<

--

Whenever you kill a monster, there is a certain chance (let's say 10%) that it will revive as either an easier version of itself (example: a Hell knight would ressurect as a Hell knight with half HP and without it's ability to throw balls (but can use weapons it finds on the ground?)) or a lost soul (or possibly a mix - lower level enemies could respawn as Lost Souls, and higher to weaker versions of themselves, or possibly all demonoid monsters could respawn as 'normal' demons). Monsters can't respawn more then once this way.

--

The cyberdemon is killed! Suddenly the Cyberdemon stands up again! Oh how cruel that would be. Hope it's not a to bad idea :).

EDIT:

Anyhow, thought of this one aswell,

Angel of Death

--

You can not leave a level unless you have got 100% kills on that level. Guaranteed to give you 100% by the end of the game :). Exceptions to this would be levels like The Wall which you are not guaranteed to be able to reach all enemies in.
