Discussion / An Idea of mine.... the BPD....

Ok this is here in Discussion because it's not really very game friendly, I just wanted to tell of this awesome gun I came up with, but its possible that with modifications, it might be able to be implemented.

Okay, so, The BPD! I came up with this gun while watching a bad SciFi channel Saturday Night movie. In the movie, there was this man-made bio-weapon organism that absorbed ANY force thrown at it, and used it to grow more. So, sunlight, radiation, heat, chemicals, ANYTHING, it just makes it grow. It had a HUGE metabolism, of course.... so my mind created the BPD : The Ultimate Weapon.

BPD is the short acronym, heres the full name : BC-R P(A)V E-D IG(R)... or BCRPAVEDIGR. Biologically Chain-Reacting Plasmatter (Atomizing) Virus Externally-Driven Injector Gun (Reactor). [yeah, I'm obsessed with ultra-complicated acronyms...] The *unofficial* LONG name : "Baker Pave Digger". The short name, BPD, officially means Bio-Plasmic Driver, but unofficially.... its known as the BPD : Big Pwnage Device. Yeah.

It is actually very close to real science, the only part of it that is impossible to our knowledge (or we just haven't found an example of it yet), is the Plasmatter Virus. Such a virus works JUST like normal human viruses do, except its made of Plasmatter. I.e. , Plasma acting like a semi-solid for any number of complex reasons. Plasmatter is as hot as plasma (i.e. , SOLAR), and is often considered explosive when raw. This isn't raw. Anyway, a plasmatter virus can't infect very well. Any part it would infect through is incinerated rapidly on contact. So it needs help.

Let me explain full name: Biologically Chain-Reacting = it spreads its infection through anything biological; Plasmatter (Atomizing) Virus = the virus itself, which certainly does "Atomize" anything it infects; Externally-Driven Injector Gun = unmounted injector gun, think of a syringe on steroids that looks sorta like an RPG Launcher without a grenade in it, most of it looks like a tube... with BIG hand holds.... its Externally Driven... by YOU. In other words, its a giant syringe that you have to jab into the target and fire; (Reactor) = its self-replenishing. not that it doesn't use ammo - it usually needs the plasma tanks recharged after a few shots, but it creates the plasmatter virus inside a reactor unit within the gun. The plasma tanks provide the plasma, which is made into plasmatter.

The bottom line is, this gun is melee only, you have to jab it into the target. The needle is pretty thick, and razor tipped to pierce solid concrete if it needs to, as long as its swung hard. Once you are infected with the virus, you have about half of a second to live before you turn to ashes, disintegrated by the plasmatter. ANYTHING that grows at all, has ANY sort of metabolic functions WHATSOEVER, will meet their doom at the hands of this weapon. It doesn't hurt, it kills. Period. And there is NOTHING thats "Immune" to PLASMATTER. The temperature of a sun is not resistible...

The reason I said it would be hard to implement is because it would have to be an insta-kill weapon, or else you would be seriously distorting its function. Also, the only possible balancer for THAT would be to make it use ammo (plasma, of course, to refill those plasma tanks I mentioned). So it would be a melee weapon that uses ammo.... hmmmmmmmmmmm.... Still, if you think it would be cool in the game, give a shout, as well as suggest how to balance it so its not too overpowered. Just DON'T suggest that it be anything less than insta-kill. That would be a travesty. So, drop me a line on the BPD : the Big Pwnage Device (or PWNage, as its usually written) [and yes, that's SUPPOSED to be a takeoff on the BFG]

you can tell by the Save # that i Savescum. well, im ethical. i only load the most recent save. i only broke this unwritten law once, on U-V, cuz i was royally fucked for 2 levels, and i thought i could handle it. damn.

I like how i didnt read the thermonuclear bomb manual LOL!!!!

also first time with Malek's Armor.... SWEET! also first with the nuclear plasma rifle, but it was sucking for me.... still, its good for blowing up barrels LOL!

well, it had to happen. im a Colonel now.... and to reach the General rank i have to beat Nightmare!.... when Ultra-Violence required me to go against my ethics and load a save from 2 levels back because i was screwed. yeah, i Savescum the current level. and special levels, so i can have fun on them anytime. now i have to beat Nightmare!..... im SOOOOOOOOO screwed! anyone got any suggestions to make my total rapeage a tiny bit less ultra-pathetic? thanks. [shakes head a lot]

Requests For Features / The Heaven Harness!

ok, this is a Unique, *non-random* POWERUP item. 1 time use, then its gone. its effect... it makes the user INVULNERABLE.... until they leave the level... yep, that's right, its not timed! it stays until you use a staircase.... also, if u nuke with it in effect, the harness disintegrates. you will survive the nuke, but you've lost your invincibility. which could very well SUCK if u end up behind a big lava pool after the nuke is over. lol. also, i have an idea of having something REALLY cool happen if you activate this while wearing the Angelic Armor! but anyway, the reason this isn't overpowered is because the thing is obtained on a special level i am still designing, this level is Death-Proof.... ideally u will be and stay invincible throughout the level... but its a puzzle. its like a maze, you have to pull levers, push barrels into lava and acid *ON PURPOSE* in order to destroy walls in your way, DONT pull the barrel-exploding decoy levers, DONT let an enemy get off a shot (most of them fire explosives... the 4th and fewest monster placement, in Ultra-Violence and Nightmare!... Mancubi. and it only takes one wrong barrel in the wrong place to null any chance of getting the powerup! btw, i originally called this powerup "Angel's Wings"... but thats weird. basically you put on the harness and angelic wings grow from it, making you invulnerable until the harness breaks from the cosmic stress! note, i have named the level "The Temple Of Light". the idea is that its the last ground on phobos that is still sacred, and upon entering, god saw fit to bestow a test upon you, and the Harness is the reward for completing that test. the level is hella complex, with a LOT of misleading walls, some of which, if you break, will destroy a lever (or the Harness!!!!) behind it! also, since ur invincible for the entire level, everythings white!!! you have to CHECK whether thats a permanent wall or a destructible one, and weather that liquid is the lava u need to blow a barrel, or water that will permanently block any use of any barrel you move against the wall its next to. lol. im working on the level map right now, as soon as i get a general layout, i will upload the wordpad document im editing it on!

Clip size: 20 (10mm)
Damage: 32x1 (20 round shots)
Comments: this is a MotherF#!%er! the real balancer here is, like the BFG, it uses HELLA ammo. unlike any other weapon, it does a gaurenteed amount of damage. the ammo use makes it bad for most builds, only a chaingun/pistol build could use it properly, and its 1 shot function makes it unusable for dual pistollers. best as the secondary for a chaingun... also, maybe add a size 1 blast effect... btw this thing is sopposed to fire Omega-Charged bullets, Omega particles have enough energy inside them to power a star through 9 billon lifetimes and STILL barely drain it. too much power, in fact. they "leak" RAW power. not matter or energy, just power. don't f@$# with raw power, cuz any matter or energy that gets too close to an Omega Particle.... is obliterated. but some materials can be CAREFULLY "Charged" with omega energies, allowing for the same effect... temporarily. the only way to contain an omega particle is with force, ie magnetism, gravity, etc.... a LOT of force. the pistol uses an "Omega Reactor" to power itself. though, a true omega pistol never needs reloading, and fires pure bolts of omega energy... oh well, thats a bit TOO powerful for DoomRL... lol

 i just want to say that the Computer Map should be usable in Angel Of Purity, as should the Backpack. a Map is NOT a "powerup" in any game ive ever played, and the backpack is hard to get anyway, allow its effects to be used... its hard enough to catch a break in AoP anyway, even if its a leg break.

just beat the game, suggestions:

1. more than 2 Heavy Weapon armors, i hadn't even heard of power armor (though i cleared ALL of the military tower looking), but having a RARE armor thats awesome, and a worthless armor, be the ONLY ones to allow u to carry heavy weapons is STUPID. we need an intermediary heavy armor. my idea makes Power Armor color Red (i've never seen, so i don't know current, but red is good for important stuff), and add in Combat Armor, color Blue, heavy armor, armor value of 2, same rarity as Plasteel, think of a powered non-military armor (like futuristic riot gear)...

2. .44 ammo and weapon need to be colored, too hard to tell whether its .44 or plain 9mm junk

3. Technical Master ability needs to be, not "almost" instant reload, but actually instant reload.

4. RPG's are supposed to HURT!! not just you, but even a near miss should hurt those aliens, no matter HOW tough they are.... and HOW does even an ELITE take a DIRECT hit from an RPG... and walk away, UNTOUCHED????? if thats supposed to represent dodging, THE ROCKET SHOULD GO PAST HIM!! also, how many heavy weapons are there, i only KNOW of two, the RPG, and whatever uses M250 ammo. (i think thats the minigun...)

5. Scouts should have a Technical specialty, not Fitness. when your a scout, you learn how to handle your weapons at a moments notice. so u should be able to reload quickly. plus, its the ONLY way anyones ever going to WANT the Sawed-Off Shotgun... master sidearm and master technical, for instant reloading of every shot, and more damage than the 12. gauge (primary) shotgun can ever do.

6. needs another primary weapon for more variety... and i have one for you. its an old weapon called a Shredder. its basically just a wide barrel, firing multiple bullets... basically a shotgun for bullets. it can use the .44 ammo, has a tight spray pattern... and has the colt's armor peircing capabilities... BUT, its even MORE innacurate than the shotguns, because its slim fire arc is hard to point... its like a cheap slingshot in that respect. basically, without primary weapons training, this gun will only hit at point blank. also, because the bullets peirce, there is no knockback... ie shoot a lot and hope it dies before it gets to you, because this thing WON't push it back.

IN ONE TRY! i savescum, but i had just completed it and i needed the 40 cacos melee'd to fulfill Cacodemon rank requirement. so i loaded at Hell level 3, having just murdered the Angel of Death, and not even meaning to i went through entire game without 1 save.... then at the mortuary, i won.....WHAT! IN AoB!!!! WOW.....
oh btw Kornel could u please fix the Enemy Spawn Levers so they can spawn infintely. TY. Exp is a pain.

on side note...i seem to rock at AoMc! hint, pickup and use health paks u find, so that BoH's and HK's cant use em. also use shotgun, as u will never miss even in coward mode. and obviously get Badass 3 asap.

one more thing. i found an ADVANCED DOUBLE SHOTGUN!....in AoB......HFSTBS!

eek. i savescum... but only the most recent save. if i screw up a level horribly, but survive, then save, then i have to deal with any problems i.e. retrying the save over and over and over. that or start from scratch! anyway that chaingun ROCKS! and i cant believe i found 3 thermies total! mighta been more on those levels i nuked... i had a very bad spot in this game.... WAAA BACKPACK IS A POWERUP!!! GRRRR...... on a sidenote, because of that chaingun i started a topic in discussion about best modded weapons ever made. go check it out! note modded BFG does not count as its the most powerful weapon in the game... mods on a bfg are pointless unless they are mag mods... hehehe

helllo.... i was just playing AoP first run... needed the rank.... anyway.... i found midway through the game an Advanced Chaingun... oh note i savescum, but only for special levels, cybie, and the most recent save, and i never go back to before the most recent one.... anyway i put 1 of all 4 mods onto it. and i already had 2SoaB and 2 Triggerhappy, OUCH! i fired 9 at a time, and with aggressive tactics mode, i rarely ever missed. +2 damage per shot, easily found ammo, x9 shots... can you say Ultimate Swiss Cheeze? (or for you Buckaroo Bonzai fans out there, "Holy Toledo!") :) then after i smashed up the Mortuary (adv rocket launcer from the wall with D3S1! it took out all the viles as i swept the room from left to right, i got to the side with my phase device... oh btw WAAA... backpack is a powerup....AoP.....WAAAA) i had 3 mag mods and a damage mod. so i put the damage mod on the chaingun, as well as two mag mods, and another reload mod. WTF!!! THE SHREDDER IS HERE!!!!!! the thing became, when my traits were added in.... Advanced Chaingun - (1d8)+2{SoaBx2} x 5+4{Triggerhappyx2} - [142/142] D2R2S1M3...  in other words, fast reload and fire speed (i also had 2 Finesse for Whizkid, as well as 2 reloader... was gonna get shottyman), easy ammo, firing 9 times, each shot doing 3-10 damage, and can fire just under 16 times per reload! if i had the chance i probably would have creamed archviles with it... hell barons took 4 rounds of fire in aggressive mode! hell knights took 3 rounds, cacos died in 2, demons usually took 1 round, sometimes 2, all former humans and imps took not even a full round of fire to tear apart! mancubi took 4 or 5. arachs took 3 or 4. ie.... THE VENTILATOR HAS COME TO DOOM!!!!!!

Requests For Features / multiple Unique Weapons!

ok Uniques will be HARD to get, ie The Morturary with all Cyberdemon corpses (not THAT hard, but still...) :)  anyway some will even be available EARLY! note that means they are even Harder to get! anyway......

uniques will be treated like advanced weapons, ie u can put mods on em. they also are all for 1 class of weapon, other than the final unique! (hint,hint) also uniques are in "all" respects overpowered, but they seriously have 1 MAJOR downside..... u cant equip a secondary! note the uniques can have entirely unheardof effects, completly new... and deadly. but remeber this one last note, there will NEVER be more than one unique in any game. also, they wont appear in AoB, and only the unique pistol will appear in AoMr (note the no secondary rule doesnt apply in AoMr). oh and the final Unique is most likely to appear in the AoLt challenge...... more hints.....

ok these will be slow to design, so please submit ideas. the first one, for shotgun class, i insist on my own, but dont worry bout the final unique, it doesnt count as any class, oh and no melee unique, that would be the LS!

ok for shotgun class, i already have spoken of this before, if u can find the posts.

Name: The Thundercracker
Class: Shotgun
Damage: 6d2 x 3 (note all 3 fire at once, ie total fire rate is equal to single shotgun)
Desription: triple-barreled, pump-action, belt-fed, High-Explosive SHOTGUN FURY! note ignore HE, errrr, or u could just make it  gaurentee at least one space of knockback per hit....? but pump action means it acts like a combat shotgun, err in that you have to move to fire, but shottyman makes it so when ur out of ammo, you move and it reloads fully, oh yeah belt-fed means it holds 9 shells per reload, and yes you can put mag mods on it, but only 2, and each adds 3 rounds, ie 1 shot. so maxed out it ca fire 5 rounds before reload!

note feel free to make changes but nothing major, ie u can change the damage or say no mag mods, but the rest is from my original Thundercracker idea, which ive had for about a year now, and it didnt begin with doomrl, it started with an idea for a triple barreled shotgun :) ! note here are the other classes, each needs a Unique. Pistol, Rocket Launcher, Chaingun, Plasma Rifle (note needs to be notably different from the chaingun Unique), and BFG (how bout that one only be available to N! and UV diffuculties!)

i do believe i have gone all the way to the 5th Military Floor without seeing anything more than a 12-gauge shotgun..... except 1 time.... i found a Pulse Rifle.... and had absolutely no ammo for it.... ARGH! believe me i searched those levels thoughouly. and it would be nice to be able to carry 1 extra handgun. in fact it makes sense! tell me how i missed the Heavys though....

ok i was just walking along on AoI lvl 5. i was just moving to get off level (not saving or on stairs) when it crashed. here is the error lines.

Requests For Features / Pain Elemental death

umm in Doom 2, the pain elementals, upon death, explode into a bunch of lost souls, # depending on how many it had already spawned before death.... that would be a good alteration, and easy. u dont have to make it dependent on pre death spawned #... just make it spawn 4 at death. oh and make em fly at you immediately. that way Pain Elementals arent such wimps.....
