True, but a vast majority of the time, I want to target squares out of my vision radius, so that doesn't help me.
Ah, fair enough. I'm a casual shotgunner, so precision aiming isn't a priority. ;)

It would help if the console version just remembered the last square you shot at and then targeted that square again, but I digress
It does, to a degree. All you have to do is aim within your vision radius.

The tile version is neat and all but the ASCII is far more comfortable for me, having played and become familiar with it over the last 6/7 years.

I remember having this issue when I started playing. Problem was, I was on an old laptop with no numpad. This being something like 9.8.something, I was well and truly stuck. :P

On a side note: I wish special level stairs would appear as a < rather than a >.
I know this traditionally signifies an upward staircase, so it doesn't make much sense in that regard... but eh it's pretty annoying that you have to (l)ook at it if you have some visual effect going on.
Nothing like 'zerking into the Mortuary and promptly freaking out in the IRC.

Maybe so, but running a master perk that isn't Gun Kata with the Beretta is an insult to the weapon itself.

(in any case, the RNG and I aren't on friendly terms)

The separate flashlight never really bothered me, but I can see how it bothered others. A choice between mounted and separate when starting a new game would be nice though.
