Before him 270 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
253 of those were killed.
1 of those was killed by something unknown.
4 didn't read the thermonuclear bomb manual.
And 8 couldn't handle the stress and committed a stupid suicide.
Some rumours though, say that the Cyberdemon was killed already!
Is he immortal? 4 souls claim to have killed him...
1 sacrificed itself for the good of mankind.
3 killed the bastard and survived.

This is my second successful run through. I managed to get both the gothic set and the phaseshift sets, which were both amazingly useful. With the phaseshift set, i was running at 0.34 seconds per move! Plasma shotgun also came in handy with tearing down walls. I also did all of this without saving! This is my best run through anything in DoomRL.
On an offnote, on another game, I entered the phobos arena with 200% health and Berzerk on. I had red armor equipped as well. I nuked it, and managed to survive! It seems that you don't necessarily have to be invincible to survive it.
