For you, is the issue the fact that they're one-use or the fact that the suggestions are too weak?
my issue is that these items will be competing with weapons and armor for the RNG's attention. Though they're not really bad ideas(except for the one that turns a plazzie or BFG into its unique counterpart), well...i'm running out of argument. I'd still rather have a railgun. wait a minute...wouldn't need to make a special thermie at all, really. if you're willing to use your (most likely) only nuke on a given level just before you run down the stairs, giving up on all the loot on that level(because you wouldn't use the nuke this way unless you were totally outmatched or just in a damn hurry), i think it would be ok to get the experience for all those kills. it's sort of a fair trade. maybe half xp.

my reason for objecting is that it's just too damn easy. you want to nuke a level you're not even on? play AoRA. you want to get XP for pushing a button and running like a rabbit? Which reminds me, can we PLEASE have a corpse-kick? and kornel, i know someone who worked with tactical nukes in the army, i'll ask him if they had a disarm code. sure he had to sign a paper stating that he forgot everything he knew about it, but whateva :P

Cateye is cheap, and Intuition brings to mind the cheat from the original game that marks all monsters on the map. (of course, that cheat crashes the game on the playstation port)

Although...the total upgrade mod for armor is good enough to stand with the big boys, and the blood-spattered datacard could make up for the shameful lack of megaspheres. the other ones are just silly.

Try this on for size. you see: a baron of hell(unhurt) fire plasma rifle! this punk'll go down in under half a clip!...you see: a baron of hell(almost unhurt) huh? switch to Assault Shotgun and close to melee range. Fire. you see: a baron of hell(almost unhurt) WTF? Empty the AS INTO HIS FACE, taking some damage on the way. you see: a baron of hell(lightly wounded) Yeah. Turns out he was wearing the Baron Armor. I had to shoot him many many times, and when i was done, the armor was like 1/6 (my armor went from brand spankin' shiny new and modded for protection to 1/5) and i wanted nothing so much then as a cigar and a 'kick monster corpse' command.

you didn't know about the armor or the shotgun? how about the RL and the chainsaw? 100% secrets on Hangar is vital if you aren't cheating...well, you can skip the stimpack :P

i mentioned this in some thread or another a couple days ago, but a trait to reduce rocket blast radius by one and increase the splash damage in the remaining squares would be interesting. prereq. eagle eye 2.
