Title: Can't run, enemies nearby...
Post by: hrethgar on October 08, 2014, 19:49
I get this message every time I try to run when there are enemies present:

"Can't run, enemies nearby."

Umm, yeah, no shit?  That's usually the reason that I want to run in the first place.

Does anyone know why it's saying that?  Thanks so much for any help!  :)

Are you using "TAB" or "COMMA"?

"COMMA" is for repeating a movement command.  You don't get any dodge bonus from using this.

"TAB" is the running that everyone is talking about when they say "toggle running mode"; this is the one that gives dodge bonuses.  It is available when you are not tired.

Maybe it's a reason for YOU to run...
but for Doomguy, it's a reason to stay and kill everything that moves.

Eh, you're not helping.  There is a genuine confusion of semantics here.  >.<

Thanks so much!  Exactly what I was looking for.  :)
