Requests For Features / Small idea ... literally.

Seeing as how complicated Doom-RL can get after only a couple updates, i was thinking of some little things here and there while minding the relatively drab scenery. Normally, looks don't mean squat -- after all, we're playing an ASCII-based game. But, what if we added a few small extras?
The first thing that came to mind -- and this is actually Doom-like -- is if you add small Crates for partial cover (50% chance of a projectile hitting the cover instead of whoever is directly behind it, it will not affect targets otherwise). The crates can be pushed, and even destroyed as if they're barrels, just without the boom-boom (unless they contain rockets!!). Perhaps these crates can even hold some useful items like ammunition and medical supplies. But no power-ups. A player can choose to open a crate and scatter the goodies with the same key as for opening doors, but still leave the crate there just in case he needs a quick shield.
A full level can even be a crate-maze ala "The Containment Area" (E2M2 of Ultimate Doom), with a combination of small crates and large crates (block LOS and projectiles but are easier to destroy compared to walls). Storage areas can be made beside Vaults in Maze of Room level types as well.
ED: Expanded.
