Why do we get plasma ammunition on the Arena and Chained court when we dont have access to plasma weapons?
I have been playing often and i havent seen a plasma rifle until i reach hell, besides the guaranteed drops on the special level such as BFG and nuclear plasma.
Is this intended? I would like to be able to use my plasma ammo earlier :(

You can get plasma weapons with lucky drops (vaults), and probaby from enemies earlier on tougher difficulties.
And it's never too soon to start stockpiling it, if you plan on using plasma weapons excesively.

As it turns out, I was thinking of removing the plasma ammo altogether from those places. At the same time, however, there will likely be a guaranteed plasma rifle and combat shotgun fairly early on after I finish polishing the new special level layout. Gonna try a lot of little tweaks to make the special levels more scaled as a matter of difficulty versus rewards: we'll see how they play out.
But yeah, it's possible to start seeing commandos on UV as early as dlvl6, so there's a use for them at that point.

Guaranteed plasma rifle on armory would be nice aswell.
Ive gone past armory with no plasma rifle to be seen :(

IMO the double shotty reward for AoSg should be replaced with a combat shottie now that their depths have been switched. I find double shotties before the arena a good half the time.

Please no more fucking plasma rifles.
I have been through Armory few-several times on AoMr and every fucking time I am getting fucking Shotguns, Double Shotguns, Combat Shotguns, Super Shotguns, Plasma Rifles, uniques that do not work with AoMr, of course.
And of course fucking great firestorm mods.
Let the reward be a bit connected to challenge, please.

I usually take care of them without problems. The real problems are Mancubi on messy maps with barrels (they are very capable of KOing glass cannons within one turn), and swarms of Arachnotrons from different directions.

True. Almost all my deaths in UV have been to arachnotron swarms. However, I once had a really hard time dealing with a commando wearing gothic armor. You won't see any arachnotrons wearing that.

I laughed out loud, because I know your torment. The first time I completed the Arena on AoMr, I held by breath as I searched for my spoils. What wonders would be granted for this absolute, utter bitch of a challenge? I wasn't hoping for much. A combat pistol would be splendid.
And then I got a power mod and a 10mm ammochain. I nearly put my fist through my computer.

P-mod is always good and ammochain helps for non-DG.So it's not that bad.
And you say combat pistol is not much?Huh, after full modding it's the best pistol ever.
Also i'd say arena is pretty easy if you already have DG/SoG3.

Thats what barrels are for :D . But I understand your pain, I usually have Knights / Barons wearing it :) .

We do not say it is bad. We just never see it there :] .
And I would love for each mod to do sth to each kind of weapon. Especially if it is some kind of "non common" one.
