Someone help me out with which shotgun to have over others?

Assuming we have this build: REL-SOB-REL-SOB

Elephant gun
Double shotgun
Tactical shotgun

Which one would you suggest to keep for the said build?

Appreciations

2nd question is which shotgun is best for shottyman build? with or without army of the dead

What class do you use and whats your perk progression for starters? why do you choose that style and what do you think is a strong build?

I love using engineer for FIN-JUG-SOB-SOB as a starter because you can use any weapon and be effective regardless of what you find.

I start with 2 shotguns to juggle between them while corner shooting till i find a chaingun to turn into an assault rifle once i have assault rifle, i try to get 2 TH to do maximum damage.

Im curious whats everyone bread and butter

How frequently do you find yourself making Master assemblies? are they worth it?

I feel that the rare mods are too rare and ive never seen one(20 games past Cyberdemon)

Do you think they should be atleast 1 rare mod guaranteed in a level? I want guaranteed P mod atleast :(

I always try to put atleast 1 B mod and the rest either Ps or As.

Any thoughts?

Side Question: Focused Double Shotty vs Jackhammer with 2 TH.  which one is better to keep?

Anybody here ever had a succesful scavenger build?

I had a game where I was finding great exotics such as the laser rifle and managed to build a burst chain gun....

I died before I even got scavenger because my weapons werent doing enough damage.

Can we change it so that we only need 1 level of whizkid? not being able to get SOB early game really makes it harder for rapid fire builds(which scavenger build promotes through EEx2)

What do you guys think of this ability?   and please dont bring in the "Its great for AO100" because I believe all abilities should be useful in normal mode.

I dont understand why we get a 2nd BFG after the halls of carnage, I feel like i am working too hard on that level without getting any relevant reward...

skulls are disposable so i dont see them as such a big deal besides being semi conditionally useful in the mortuary.

Why dont we get something like a "Staff of skulls"

Same fatigue consuming staff like arena masters except when you trigger it, it gives you the effect of a random skull.

everytime you use it, it consumes your stamina.

otherwise i feel like skipping this level.

First victory on this version. saved before mortuary because i wasnt confident enough, but it seems like I was more than prepared to clear it with no issues.

Nuclear plasma rifle (1d10)x6 [4/40] (B2P3) made the game very easy lol, didnt know you could add 5 mods to it, they even asked if i could turn it into a burst cannon, anybody know if its worth it?

and in game hunters video i see assault cannon, how do you make that? does it still work on the latest version?

Wiki mentiosn that hell knights have plasma damage and barons have acid damager.

it that intentional?

and is there any armors that that can negate the acid armor damage?

Why do we get plasma ammunition on the Arena and Chained court when we dont have access to plasma weapons?

I have been playing often and i havent seen a plasma rifle until i reach hell, besides the guaranteed drops on the special level such as BFG and nuclear plasma.

Is this intended? I would like to be able to use my  plasma ammo earlier :(

I work for IT Helpdesk and whenever i dont get any calls i play doomrl, i think its the perfect kind of game because i can minimize it and play it windowed.

Only issue is that i cant play with sound!

Hi guys! ever since the beginning of doomRL, ive always struggled using the shotgun and i would like to know if it is possible to focus on the shotgun and be effective.

The odds of finding accuracy based weapons is much higher than a shotgun(pistos,miniguns,plasmarifle,rocket launcher VS shotgun, tactical and double shotty)

And at this current state, I feel that going 2 shotties with juggler is the most efficient way to use it because of the 0 reload time(swapping) which allows shooting without delay.

If the odds of finding a good shotgun item are low then doesnt that make the shotgun build more reliable on luck rather than skill?

I saw in one of the threads that using tech class with FIN > JUG > SOB > SOB into any option you like gives you more variation.

Can you guys post your experiences and advice regarding a shotgun build?

I am trying to understand how to make a shotty build but it feels as if its a lacking option in everyway!

When you use EE or Intuition, all the weapons can benefit from it hugely allowing you to be flexible, but if you are a shotty build then EE becomes useless!

On top of that, going full shotty build and having a side weapon to fight with makes it very difficult because you will be carrying 2 ammo types and you wont have much accuracy and inventory space unless you heavily mod your ranged weapons.

So, how about adding a new gun type or Alt-fire for the shotgun shells?  many games have the shotgun slugs which is a single big shell used for mid range.

Long reload times but its a viable way to deal with shotties natural weakness.

random unrelated note, cant we make double shotty shoot one shell at a time with alt fire? would be good if you could shoot twice separately for more strategic advantage.

what do you guys think?
