Trait-Boost Manuals
Considering the fact that we are in the future, it seems strange that there isn't any kind of book there. Yeah, maybe they just read from their PDAs, but it's still strange... Well, getting back to the topic, these manuals, once read, can boost a level in one basic trait, unless it's blocked by a master.

Actually, it's not only that you become immune to knockback. It's more like you're some kind of immovable fortress with enough dakka to obliterate whatever's near you.

Maybe this is something everybody has already seen.
Playing normally, a common game, and BAM! Being hit so hard that you're almost dead. I was in 5% health. I was able to evade the monsters' attacks and, luckily, found an invulnerability orb close by. I grabbed it and then I remembered something...
I was playing Angel of Purity. Cue "FUUUUUUUUUUUUU-!" face when a monster killed me.

If you were to play a methodical and balanced game with little to none random stuff, many strategies can be made that would ensure a perfect, complete run with zero chances of failing.

Do you know how to put a module like that together?

Angel of Explodium:
"Just having you around increases the flammability of concrete". Just as the name implies, everything blows up. You shoot against a wall? It explodes, even if you used some other weapon that wasn't a rocket launcher. Killed enemies? Chunky salsa everywhere, with little bits of gore here and there. Hell, even YOU explode (With a big-ass, nuclear-like shockwave) when you die.

« on: May 19, 2012, 10:57 »Wow, just wow. Very nice win! I suppose the only thing that can top it is a Full Win with DS...Which would be, in turn bested by a full win with the DS+BA combo. While on fire.

713 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
636 of those were killed.
6 of those were killed by something unknown.
4 didn't read the thermonuclear bomb manual.
And 25 couldn't handle the stress and committed a stupid suicide.
42 souls destroyed the Mastermind...
3 sacrificed itself for the good of mankind.
36 killed the bitch and survived.
3 showed that it can outsmart hell itself.

Yeah, we get to see here a run where a DS was equipped, a Longinus was gotten and a Mortuary was annihilated. All in the span of... 45 MINUTES!? Man, that was fast, even for me. For those interested in knowing, that one time I saved was when I entered the Mortuary, not being sure if I would actually finish it (Yeah, by that time I had the Dragonslayer), but it was a fear without any logical argument to hold it true. I was lucky to find those Viles close to the spawning point, too. Whatever, they all die the same, with a huge-ass sword crushing their heads.
By the time I got myself in Dis, the inventory pretty much was what you see there, and it wasn't even necessary for me to use even a single small medpack. The thermonuclear bomb was a failsafe clause, in case shit happens, but with a Onyx-modded red armor and a DS, who needs that shit?

No, this is not an edited screenshot. You're not hallucinating, either. What that Berserker Armor is doing is totally normal. And the conditions to make it do that kind of stunt are quite simple.

« on: May 18, 2012, 06:02 »2Dev, it's enough to block Bad and Iro with this, because regardless of TaN levels, if you're hit, you are hit for 1 damage at least, which is enough to get killed. It's better if it's blocked, because why would someone spend a point in a trait that doesn't work? Leaving it activated would be an unneccesary thing to do, as one can accidentally choose it.

A challenge I thought a while ago. Yeah, I'm that insane.
Angel of Frailty:
"You know that protection can get destroyed, right? Right!? Well, guess what, chump? Weapons can be destroyed if they are over-used, too!". Any and all weapons have limited durability, which depletes on each use. Armor shards and the lever effects related to repairing of armor can be used to replenish the damage weapons sustain over time.
