Are you allowed to have a ranged weapon in your PREPARED slot when you punch an enemy to death? Also, I hate how you can't do this on AoB and ranged whittling becomes possible. Whenever I play a melee build, I like to play Pure Melee. Using Ranged for a Melee Badge is almost as tedious as doing the speedrun badges for me.

Yeah, about now I have about 4-5% Victory rate(95-96% Deaths), most of them on HNTR and HMP, about 5-14 Deaths on UV and 1 Death on N! Perhaps I should shoot into the blank whenever I hear an enemy instead of just walking until they appear onscreen. It's probably gonna make me use my shotgun more.

I'm gonna start playing in console mode, probably with AoMC w/o UV to start, for the added visual challenge. Tiles mode just seems too much like Noteye ADOM.

As for the Challenge, I'm posting it in General DoomRL Discussion unless people tell me otherwise. Perhaps I should post is in post mortem instead(because people would post their victory/defeat mortems in the challenge's thread? or will they post them in separate threads?) To be honest, I don't know where to post challenges. I'll post it when I find out where I should post it.

I tend to use the corner of the wall(where the breakable barrier was) as cover against bruisers. Apparently I'm not using Tactical Boots, Hellrunner or Running Tactic Enough. As for WHY UV is so hard for me, it's mainly due to the enemy's increased accuracy. This is probably why I haven't had much luck on Angel of Mass Carnage. Perhaps I should invest in Scout/Intuition more often for AoMC and UV.

Having to do AoI without AoOC would be both easier(more preparation and gear) and harder(more levels to go through). In the end though, there's plenty of set levels that don't have much for healing options, so I would have to avoid most of the special levels. I did it on AoOC because I wanted a quick, easy way to finish off the last Gold Badge I needed. The easier badges are fairly difficult, while the hardest are next to impossible for me. I could probably score 1 diamond and 1-3 Platinum, but I don't expect to ever go near Angelic unless I can master UV.

I do like the Tetris+No Floor Items System, but only if selling items to a shop is not possible*. I've played Diablo 2, and one of the things I hated was doing 20 trips just to sell everything that dropped from the mobs I killed, especially since most items took up 1/4-1/3 of the inventory.
As for looting corpses/containers, have them still contain the items you failed to loot(because of full inventory) until you change dungeon levels. New containers of items should always spawn if any monsters respawn upon reentering the cleared level(but only if monsters respawn upon reentering).

*Note: Even though selling to a shop shouldn't be possible with the idea, Buying from a shop could still be available. Coinage should either take 1 inventory space per $5000/$8000/$20000(depending on wallet sizes) or be independent of inventory and take up no space. Wallets should be smaller in size than medpacks/ammo crates/weapons/armour for more money carrying versatility.

As for ammo pouches, I really love the idea, and believe that ammo pouches should be able to be set to a specific ammo type(reset causes destruction of ammo), but have some pouches better suited for 9mm than rockets, while others are better suited for rockets than 9mm(varying ammo type capacities depending on pouch).
Example: Pouch A can hold either 80 bullets, 20 shells or 5 rockets. Pouch B can hold either 40 bullets, 35 shells or 8 rockets. Pouch C can hold only 20 bullets, or 30 shells, or a whopping 15 rockets. Each pouch may only contain one ammo type at a time, and changing the ammo type will destroy any remaining ammo. Pouches A, B and C have different names to help hint at which pouch is best for which types of ammo.

Then I guess I'll probably never Get Major again if there's a Badge Reset. The Gold badges would be way too hard if I couldn't use AoOC.
As for Comfortable Difficulty, I find HNTR Enjoyable as a Medium/Moderately easy difficulty. HMP is Challenging for me, but not impossible, and UV/N! would prove impossible for me. What sucks is most of the HMP challenges for Gold involve really hard angel games. It would've taken at least 20 more runs if I didn't use AoOC or AoCn with my AoI run. Phobos Anomaly Ambush destroys anyone who doesn't use a phase device(especially w/o double shotgun) on AoI, and I always find Phobos Anomaly extremely hard on AoI and AoPc, especially on HMP. HNTR would be reasonable for me for those Angel Challenges.

Is radar shooting that much more beneficial than corner shooting and gift dropping? If so, then I guess I was never meant to get Major(without the luck I had). I don't understand how anyone could manage an Angelic Badge. There's got to be more to it than Corner Shooting, Giftdropping, Dodging and Radar Shooting. I also don't like how you need to specialize in specific traits in order to dodge and shoot before the enemy gets to shoot back. Alot of my deaths were because of the lack of armour/traits/medpacks/exotics on early floors, especially at UV and N!.

Another problem I see is I almost never seem to run out of ammo, but I almost always seem to run out of medpacks(unless i get phobos lab).

As it says, I played Angel of Impatience with Angel of OC on HMP. For the most part, I focused on getting down to hell 8 asap while staying alive. The run itself wasn't much merit(I played an Intuition Scout to rush stairs), and I picked up an additional shell box, a rocket launcher and a plasma rifle, all of which were low on ammo(except my minigun and shell boxes). I was down to like 28% Health when I faced Mastermind(with only Green Armor and no healing options or invincibility), and I thought I was gonna die. Then I started to abuse Corner Shooting with my minigun until it ran out of ammo, switched to plasma rifle and did the same. Meanwhile I used Intuition to keep track of the Mastermind's location, and danced around a pillar until the Mastermind was in the right position to shoot without getting hit. I got hit once, which brought me down to 4% Health, and had to switch to shotgun in the end, and it took several dozen hits(one hit and i'm dead), but I did it. Got both Eagerness Gold and Silver, as well as Major Rank(YAY!), but nothing else. The 27% kills was because I skipped most of the enemies. I desperately hope none of this gets nerfed in the future, especially if there's ever a Badge Reset. Every Remaining Gold Badge IS too hard for me. I get obliterated if I even try UV/N!, especially since I really suck at Radar Shooting(especially without shotguns/intuition), and find the necessity for radar shooting rather tedious.

I don't think I'll bother with UV, Nightmare, Gold, Platinum or Diamond Badges any time soon(if ever). Instead I'll do various Pistol/Knives Builds, some Ao100/AAo666, and finish up my assemblies, Silver Badges and Bronze Badges. But from now on, I'm playing HMP as my main difficulty(No more ITYTD/HNTR unless it's Badges/Medals)
In the end, Angel of Impatience took alot of Patience.

Edit: I have an idea for a challenge that this forum could participate in. It's kinda a mix of Malicious Knives Medal and Centurial Badge. Where do I post the details?

To be honest, this is my first time entering The Mortuary(RNG Usually Rolled Limbo whenever I had a desire for Reaper). After seeing a 0.9.9.7 Preview Showcase LP Video, I was inspired to head toward the northeast corner hoping to find the Nuclear BFG9000 Early on.(The Video covered Limbo instead) According to the Map Wiki, I was either heading for the Nuke BFG or the Assault Shotgun, and I was fortunate to have headed toward the Nuclear BFG since I kinda ran out of Plasma Ammo as I was finishing up the left side. My Tactical Shotgun did very little damage to the remaining Hell Barons and I had to run back and forth left and right for my Nuclear BFG to recharge. If it weren't for my Cateye Trait and Nuclear BFG9000, I wouldn't have been able to finish mortuary since I didn't have a nuclear plasma rifle.

Also, Since I was copying the Cateye Tactical Shotgun tactic, I figured I was able to get away with a higher killing spree, so I went ahead and got my first UAC Gold Star. I was also going for shambler's head, but the shambler spawned too close to me during one of his teleports.

Also, Never got a chance to use Angelic Armour since I was saving it for Mastermind, and decided to rush the last 2 levels on invincibility from Hell 6.

Also, I still haven't found the button that makes me reply in full editor mode, so that I can use the Post Mortem button instead of manually typing the tags.

Edit: Just one more Gold Badge and I have Major. I don't think I'm going to try for any more Gold/Platinum Badges after I hit Major since most of them require either Beating a Difficult Angel game on HMP or Playing UV past Phobos 6(I always die on the first 1-3 floors on UV, even with Giftdropping and Cornershooting. Giftdropping doesn't seem to be as effective on HMP+ when not dropped in doorways since the formers have a chance to run away from the Gift, especially when I stand on top of it.)
I'm probably going to try Ao100 as AoMr or AoB, or try Ao666.

Reddit: Just realized that I had UAC Star Gold from my YASD Run. I was wondering why my "Show Player" ingame thing said I had 2 of those... Also, I figured I'd finish up Medals, Bronze/Silver Badges, Uniques/Exotics and my last Master Assembly for Technician Diamond. Just need 2 Bulk Mods, 2 Firestorm Mods, 2 Whizkid Levels and a BFG 9000. I'll probably play as a scavenger for that run, and hope that Hell's Armoury drops Firestorm after shambler.

Personally I didn't know what to use the Sniper Mod On then(now I know to use it on burst weapons), and Ammochain + Sniper would've made the game easier. I heard rumours that Ammochain is currently being considered for rebalance. I figured I'd use the advantage of Ammochain for some of the harder badges(Gold mostly) before it gets nerfed.

I went for a multi-badge run, going for Technician Platinum, Reaper Gold and Explorer Medal. Ended up with Spider's Lair for the BFG, but that wasn't a problem since there was invincibility right next to the stairs. I ended up doing Fireangel, with 1 Whizkid and 1 Badass(after it unlocked from 2 TaN), and found both a Plasma Shotgun and a Jackhammer in my wake.(Jackhammer was next to the invincibility next to spider's lair stairs, and Plasma Shotgun came from Deimos Lab(even though i preferred Hell's Armoury)).

Ended up dying on Hell 4 to an Arachnotron, only because by Bulked Blue Armour Ran down to 18% when i had about 50% Health left. I thought I had enough health to survive one more barrage, but I was wrong. Should've used one of my 3 Remaining Large Med Kits. To be quite honest, I mainly was in it for Mortuary/Limbo Completion and Technician Platinum, which I got from the last Advanced Assembly I needed: VBFG9k(PPP on BFG9K). As of right now, all I need to discover ALL assemblies is yet another BFG Mod that goes like BBFF(2 Firestorm packs are really hard to get without scavenger, even in Ao100, which I wasn't playing this run). Main reason why I died is because I didn't pay enough attention to my remaining armour. At least I ended up with Tech Platinum. Now all I need is 2 Gold Badges and I can finally retire as a Major.(Lt. Colonel doesn't sound as fun as Major, plus 3 more gold badges would be killer since UV is way too hard for me, especially if I have to play at least 9-16 levels to get the badge. TLDR: There's always AoOC for Special Level and Non-Standard-Only Badges - Sereging I think it's called?)

At the end of Floor 50, The Message at the top of the ingame screen said that things weren't going to be funny, but as soon as I hit floor 51, I ended up in a maze with stairs within vision.(Where's the way out!? Oh there it is. Doh.) Turns out that the comedy was just beginning. Didn't bother to save pics cause I was too late. In fact, this run happened 1-3 days ago at the time of this post.

Typical Ammochain run, combined with Malek's armour in the beginning helped me through most of the floors, but when I got an Onyx Mod and Nano Mod I decided to try Cybernano Red Armour for my Master Assemblies Collection. Didn't know it was Cursed at the time, but proved to actually be better than Malek's due to infinite Onyx Durability. One of my earlier runs I had Maleks as a Scavenger, but died because I ended up crafting Nanofibre Skin Blue Armour not knowing it was cursed, and ran out of durability with no cover when I had to fight several mancubi.

On all honesty, I picked HNTR because HMP is somewhat hard, but doable(in standard games), and UV/N! is way too hard for me. I'm fortunate enough to have at least 6 Gold Badges.
