"There comes a time within the existence when the first life is born. And from the beginning, this life has been watched by Avinneas the Radiant. At the birth of this world, The Radiant One gazed upon the barren land and drew up from the earth great mountains from which life would more easily reach him."

"Once upon the dawn of time the Land was still young, fresh, giving birth to mountains high above, or burying them violently deep underneath. Its Heart bled with fire, its Viscera shimmered with minerals, its spirit pulsed with unlimited potential. There was no Time, no Reality, only The Power and The Possibility. From The Possibility emerged Augaerias, The Wanderer From Great Nowhere, passing through the Void of Never.
Augaerias looked upon the bare rock and sighed, for on His paths He had not found even a stone to lay His head on. His eyes witnessed an island, as alone as The Wanderer Himself, and He rejoiced in His heart, thus saying :
>>May this land laid aside be My refuge, for the Eternity I had been wandering and in the end I had found it. May the barren soil give birth to plants, and may they give Me fruits to fill My belly. May air turn all wet and warm so that My bones shall know rest as well.<<
And the Land obeyed, winds changed and great forests bloomed.
>>Valnaleth<< this island was called, for The Wanderer found there His refuge."

Far, far in the north, a man... or maybe something more, awakened and looked down upon the land, that was untouched and unformed, like empty canvas, yet to be painted.

'I am now.' he said, understanding that there was no one to listen... yet. 'But was I before? Or was I born in this very moment?' he wondered. 'Does not matter. I am going to shape the future here, for I understand what must be done.' he decided, reaching towards the land, making it bulge at his touch. Soon, chain of mountains, high and remote was formed.

'Here, I shall plant the seeds from which my children will be born. But this land must harsh on them, as I will be, or they will suffer from others. The land must be ruthless and unforgiving, so they will have to be strong. I will give them nothing... but thorns, cold wind and jagged mountains. Only then they will have what it takes to thrive.'

He did as he said, brining harsh winds against the jagged mountains and sharp briers that bore bitter fruits into deep and dark valleys. And he saw what he created, and it was pure. Those where the first works of 'Windstalker, Whisperer in the Storm'

From his visage fell a single tear upon the earth which breathed life into the wastes. A great lake formed and from it's edges, all manner of flora grew. The spirits of the air and water too arose and flourished int he land bringing rain and favorable winds."

The land was barren and devoid life. The land pointed at heavens with jagged peaks of mountains that are yet to claim wanderer's souls.

'Mountains are not enough. My children has to be shaped by more than rock thorn... I will give them stormy seas full water and predators. I will separate them from fertile land, and they won't cross the waters until they have the strength they need! I will create a Hell for them to live in- otherwise, they will be weak!'

With a word, he sank parts of the land, allowing waters to rush in, and separate the mountains from rest of the island. With a breath, he gave them soul of storm, never to be calm again. He also enlarged the chain of mountains, giving his children more space to live.

"After creating the plants and bending winds to do his will, The Wanderer From Great Nowhere took a nap in the shade of trees he gave life to. But plants had no fresh water yet, withereth and spoileth, and rays of the sun shined upon His eyes. Augaerias has awoken, has seen what happened, and cried bitterly over his working wasted.
And where His tear did fall, water gusheth and a river was born, so that plants could drink fresh water and grow in strength. Augaerias ordered the rain to fall every morning, so that rivers were stronger and there was water for every being demanding it.
Who Knows The Never stood from his knees and looked towards the horizon, where mountains grew, deserts shaped and thorns bloomed. But he couldn't see, for trees from his tears grew truly high and strong. So he crafted a mountain of metal and stone to dwell on and watch upon the young world, and waterfalls for his creations to sleep and wake to their whisper.
>>Such an enormous land and nobody to keep me company.<<, He sighed. >>I shall create animals, so the forest shall not be silent anymore.<<
And He did, from tiny Stalk Mice, through the Bladefeathers overhead, to the Grand Claw-Reptiles. Water Serpents and Titanscales along with variety of lesser fishes appeared in the rivers and in the sea.
And He blessed them to grow and spread, to give hide, meat and bone >>to those, who shall ask for it soon.<<"

'It is done. It is finished. The land will need my touch no longer.'

With those words, he took a thorny branch into his hands. He allowed it scratch his skin, and when his blood touched the soil under his feet, the branch changed into the being he wanted to create.

In front of him, a being knelt. It was mostly humanoid in shape, but with slimier frame and slightly elongated limbs. He then spilled a few drops of his blood on the being's head, imbuing it with a small portion of his own power.

'I gave you all that you need, my child. I'll see you in a year' he whispered, and left the being alone among the thorns, naked and defenceless.

"It is time," a gentle voice could be heard. Not from above or in a particular direction but from the land itself. The Radiant One open his eyes from his short reprieve and reached into the mountains, clouds, waters of his land and pulled the essences required of life; Shaping, molding imbuing them with a drop of his own power. On the lands before him, several figures stood, staring blankly. They had tall, lithe bodies and an enormous pair of feathered wings of many colors ranging from black to brown to white. Their feet were clawed and their legs, while bony looking, were very sturdy. Above all, their eyes were so sharp, they look  as if they could see into you very soul.
"Greetings my children, you are the Tethellosi. Live and be proud, for you are the pride of my glory."

Windstalker kept his promise.

He returned to the place in which he left his avatar, and smiled, proud of it, as he saw a hut, crude but standing against merciless winds, adorned with skins and furs of forest and mountain beasts.

He knocked at the door, three times. Soon, he saw his only child.

Indeed, she did what he expected her to achieve. She battled with the wild, and emerged victorious. She thrived. And though her scars from tooth, nail and torn was more than visible, they did not disfigure her- for they were proof of her power.

'You did well, daughter' he said.

'You left me with no choice'

Windstalker slowly nodded, noticing the poorly covered scorn in her voice.

'Indeed. And now, allow me to present you with my two final gifts'

He entered her hut, ignoring her protests. Dim light filled the interior, but Windstalker noticed the skulls of various animals painted in strange, hypnotizing patterns with ochre.

'I see that you hate me now' he continued his speech

'You left me alone, made me suffer... every wound I received, every day of starvation, every night of toil wasted to winds... Is not it all your fault?' she asked spitefully.

'But it made you strong' he replied dryly. 'But, we are digressing. I came here to present you with two final gifts. First, as you proved yourself worthy, allow me to share the secret of iron and steel with you. No longer will you need to use crude tools of stone and wood.'

And he taught her, and she listened to him.

'And there is the second gift' he said, when she her first blade was done. 'Progeny. In a year and a day, you will give birth to a new race. Race made in your image, not mine. They will venerate you as their Goddess given flesh, loving but unforgiving, harsh yet caring. Teach them what I taught you... And tell them that it is me, Windstalker, who made them live in such. I hope that their hate will be as powerful as yours. And tell them, that whispers in the wind are my voice, and should not be heeded. '

She gazed at him, surprised, but before she could reply, Windstalker smiled for the last time, and disappeared into the night, never to be seen again on the mortal plane.

It happened as he told. Year later, his avatar Ios gave birth to first of the elfkin. They were born with a shard of Windstalker power that gave them long lives, but otherwise, their bodies were weak, albeit with great potential. And though Ios tried to avoid it, not long after, she was considered a Goddess for them, their mother and protector.

Time passed on the Island of Thorns as the elves matured. They formed tribes, warring each other and growing stronger. They became proud, proud people, who valued their freedom and their blades above everything else. They had no qualms about spilling each other's blood, and there was only one thing they feared... Night winds, and whispers they brought. They would shut themselves in their huts and houses when they came, afraid that mere listening to them could drive them crazy or corrupted.

Only one place was hallowed for them. The House Of The Goddess, little valley resting in the shadows of the Fanged Hand, highest mountain on the island. There, in small wooden house, their mother, their Goddess lived. No blood was allowed to be shed, no conflict was allowed to take place there. Goddess welcomed all who were brave enough to traverse many dangers that awaited on the road the the valley. Many perished on their journey there. Many more gave up. But some found their way to this holy place and returned, carrying the words of the one who gave them all life.

One of them was Cerbin, artist and warrior who lacked in strength. Knowing that he was not able enough to survive on the battlefield, he decided to seek advice from the Goddess. Barely, he made his way to her House. There, she found him weak and refused to speak him in the first place. But then, when he was about to live, broken, she noticed something that she was not able to describe. Spark of power in him. She invited inside, and did the best she could to kindle this spark into a blaze. Every night, she forced him to fight, almost killing him. Every day, she made him endure the winds and thorns, as she once did. Her heart broke, inflicting such torments upon him, but she of all could understand the need to do so.

And then, one night, what she hoped for happened. As Cerbin screamed in agony, something snapped in him. Earth itself shook as he let his dormant powers awaken. The reality bended to his will, and he understood that he was the first of his kind to mater the art of magic. Ios smiled, proud.

'You have done something unbelievable, son' she whispered, observing him sculpting the elements with but his will. 'I will not tell you what potential lies in this power, for you are aware of this already, are not you?'

'Indeed, mother' he replied, throwing ball of lighting high into the sky 'I know what I have to do. And, sadly, I am afraid that I must leave soon, Mother, for...'

She put a finger on his lip, interrupting his speech. 'I do understand, son. Go. Go with my blessing'

Cerbin returned, his power protecting him. He visited the chiefs all tribes, threatening them with his magic. They had to obey his command. And so Cerbin became the first ruler of Island of Thorns, though he did not dominate the island, merely forcing tribes to accept him as their sovereign. He also sought other elves that had this same spark of power as he had, and helped them harness it as he did. They became known as Crows, his most faithful servants. From amongst their midst, he picked a maid as fair as thorn blossom, and made her his bride. Thus, the ruler line of House Of Crows was born.

Meanwhile, on the mainland Windstalker laughed, observing the toil of other god and other races. He considered his work finished, and, honestly, found himself a bit bored. To amuse himself, he leaked a bit of his powers on the land, allowing hills covered in razor-sharp grass to grow, and populated them with vicious predators.

"Seeing the world growing populated with more and more lucid beings, Augaerias sat on the mountain of metal and pondered.
>>Time itself is working against my children, for I was a slave of eternity and I escaped, thus its claws seek their vengeance. I shall act now, so my loyal would gain power and wisdom soon. But I shall be in need for an adjunct.<<
Saying these words, he immersed his palms in the Valn Mountain's heart and grasped at the finest piece of Somathium ore.
From the ore, The Primarchus was shaped - the monumental colossus, nine feet high, slender yet hulking - and prodigious in his perfection.
The Inhabitant of Great Nowhere admired his creation. Thus he spoke :

>>Thou shalt be my servant, an instrument of my will, for I made you emerge from the ore. I shaped thy flesh as an example for my children, so they would strive to be similar to you. There is much to be made, so arise and linger no longer. Thy price shall be worthful, for now I give you my wisdom.<<

And the Primarchus praised the Fugitive of Never. Gazing at the land before him, thus he said :

>>Command, O Lord, for I shall listen and obey.<<

And the Wanderer commanded :

>>Take thy hammer, for now you go to shape my children. May they be six feet high, slender yet unweak as you are, for they shall live their lives of hunters and pilgrims - but of flesh, not of Somathium. May their bodies be smooth and their heads bald, and give each a slim, pale tentacle coming out of the back of the head. They shall be strong both in flesh and will as well, capable of shaping matter with mind and mind with matter. Give each two eyes of Somathium so they could perfectly witness the world - and one eye of spirit, so they could witness me. May their voices be deep and calm, as mine is.

These orders I give you today. Hear and obey, so I could make you their patron.<<

And The Avatar obeyed. Thus were born The Augaerii, >>Children of the Wanderer<<.

And the world was never the same."

As great powers busied themselves with shaping the virgin world, another power awoke, deep within the land. Its consciousness flowed through layers of rock and shimmered in the seams of metal and clusters of gem. It felt the crude changes inflicted upon it by the others, and it was not pleased.

And the Shaper Mirach did awake,
And saw that the realm had felt the touch of other powers,
And so set out to right these wrongs,
And so carved out a domain
From stone, and metal, and fire.

A great could of dust rose up from the earth and stone were dragged down, an uneven pit left gaping in its place, its steep and craggy walls rough and riddled with smaller fissures, caves, and canyons. The mass of soil and rock was dragged down to the core of the pit, where an intense fire blazed, and there it was transformed... for the Shaper's further plans.

And the Shaper Mirach lit the Forge,
And did reach up to the lands above,
And seized the essence of the world,
To feed the Great Creation.

The Shaper had begun work on his creation within his Forge, but felt that once started, the one Forge would not be enough. Therefore, the Shaper set out to expand on its domain, dragging further masses of ore and stone down into the fiery sea beneath the world, there to fuel the Shaper's designs. The Shaper's will kept the magma contained to the new Forges, and the Shaper's will kept it ever-boiling, ready for whatever tasks the Shaper had in store for it.

It was at that time Karm, smith and member of the powerful House Of Crows discovered that should the blood of one who posses the spark of magic in him be mixed with molten iron, before it was formed and forged into the shape and carbonized to become steel, the resulting alloy will be infused with the raw magic. The blades became sharper and harder to break, armours lighter and thinner, while retaining all their protective capabilities.  And so, Karn was the first to master the art of bloodfroing. Even Cerbin, the Sovereign of the Island of Thorns and the head of the House of Crows was greatly impressed when he was given the first bloodforged sword, named Durendal, in the honour of great warrior of past.

And so it was that the Shaper Mirach created the First.
Its skin the stone of the world, its sinews the pure metal,
Its heart the spark of blazing heat from the world's heart.
The Shaper Mirach gave the First the power to shape itself and others,
And bid the First to create more of its kind.
Thus was our race of Rryth forged.

The First was a sphere of semi-molten rock, still blazing hot from the fires of its creation. It found it could shape extensions of its body to fulfill tasks as were needed. It found it could float above the craggy walls of the Forge and above the blazing heat of the Forge Pit itself. It found materials, and so set to bringing forth more of its kind, as its own Shaper had commanded, from the stone and ore of the Forge's tunnels, where they would dwell.

Elves were dimly aware of the world outside the Island Of Thorns. Between wars and eternal struggle for survival on their island, they had little time or possibility to wonder what lies beyond the horizon.

That does not mean that it stopped them from wondering entirely.

One of the tribes- or clans, for this is how they came to call themselves- happened to be forced out of their home valley during particularly vicious war among them and the Steelsong Clan. They found shelter in gloomy woods that grew on the border of the ocean. Most elves refused to tread there, justly afraid of monstrosities that lurked in shadows, but this particular clan had no other choice.

They settled down, braving the forests. And soon they became the first of elven kind to hear and heed the siren's call of the sea. While other elves feared and loathed it, they begun to love it. It was not long, until they learned the craft that was necessary for them. shipbuilding. While their first boats were crude, and often destroyed by raging storms, they soon managed to create first reliable vessels, capable of crossing the seas.

Not long after, a first ship was sent to discover the lands outside the island, on personal order of the Goddess, Ios. After many weeks of tedious journey, this sleek craft, carrying one of the House Of The Crows mages aboard managed to land on unknown shores. Thick jungle was visible in the distance, as they stood on the sand beach, wondering what- if anything- can live in such paradise.

"It's time for me to create my own intelligent beings. Let them be called Khrolian. Creating test being.". Zorian quickly imagined what kind of creature he wants to create. It was a dragon with a constitution of a human. It had a tough scales and quite big wings. His eyes produced unseen to most light that illuminated dark areas to provide them perfect night sight. "Looks fine. Sending it to real world.". And then, a creature directly from Zorian's mind appeared in the caverns below the center mountain.
"Greetings, my son. I'm Zorian Zel, your god and creator. You're here to live your life and explore this world. Soon after you discover part of this place, I'll grant you the ability to create more of your kind, and your task will be to teach them ways of Khrolian. And by now, you're free to do anything." - was the voice heard in the head of new being.

Sensing a weak spot in the local area, Avinneas drew heavily upon the land there to provide him with power such that he would not damage the lands closer to his children's home.

"As The Lost God had seen the ships on the horizon, thus he whispered to Primarchus :
>>I've seen the Strangers are coming to your home. Prepare your people, fortify your dwellings ! Move through the shallow water to the east and build me there a city, so you could find your salvation there. Teach my men how to bind Living Metal to their will, how to use herbs for easing pain and causing poisoning. Use everything I gave you, defend your motherland. Who knows what kind of pain and torture do bring the newcomers ?<<
The most potent and most ingenious children of Augaerias heard and obeyed, altering their reality with bare minds, and the rest followed. With concentrated pure power of will, nothing would persist.
Soon, the jungle itself changed by Augaerii handiworks. Half of pulsing metal, half-wooden plants gave shelter to armored animals, faster, stronger, even more deadly than before yet even more beautiful beings, shimmering roots flashed in the sun and metal leaves were sharp as blades. Ideal geometric shapes along with perfection of nature. The look truly inspiring yet dangerous and billiantly unsettling.
And above, overhead, High Spires of Mind Gate hanged in their majesty, their twisted walls challenging every single foe with a roar of complete, stunning silence and peace.
Those who bring harm would stand not a shadow of chance."

Zorian Zel carefully watched as his creation progressed. It didn't disappoint him. A young Khrolian did explore the dungeon and discovered part of it. When he stopped for another rest, Zorian spoke to him:
"Hello again, my son. You've done well in exploring the dungeon. Now I give you the power to create another of your kin as you wish. Do it, and teach them what you did find. When you'll finish I'll speak to you as well as to those you did create, and teach the way you could speak with each other".

Khrolian listened to his master. Although he had much questions to ask, he decided to do what his master asks for this was the only way to force the master to speak to him again. He concentrated on the new power he felt. Then, from everything he saw, new khrolians emerged. From rocks emerged brown scaled khrolians. From the essence of water in the air appeared blue scaled khrolians. From the air itself white scaled khrolians appeared. And the rarest ones appeared from the heat essence in the air - red scaled khrolians.
"Greetings, my sons and daughters. I'm Zorian Zel - your god and creator. I will guide you through this dungeon, which contains many secrets. If you discover all of them, you'll be far stronger than you are now. And for now - a little trick for you. If you focus your mind on my voice, everything you think will be heard for every living being. If you focus on my voice and on someone in particullar, everything you think will be heard for him. Practise this ability, do not fear failures and learn from mistakes - and you'll be rewarded".

As Zorian spoke to new race appeared, he sensed that it would be a long road till this race would learn all the knowledge he has prepared for them. "Well, infinite time helps greatly. Good thing I have it"

While elves and their Goddess thrived on far north, Windstalker turned his attention to the land, still unformed. With wicked grin on his face, he allowed parts of his essences to seep through veil that separated the land of living from the plane of the Powers.

Land tainted by his vile powers turned into seemingly colourless waste. But it was enough to take a fistful of dust from the ground there to notice that in hand every single grain of dirt appeared to take a different hue. For this land was as close to the unshaded chaos as it was only possible. Will sufficiently strong and skilled in manipulating residual powers of the world was more that capable of shaping this land to it's own whim... Of course, sooner or later, such shapes would collapse back into dust, but still, it land of infinite possibilities. And infinite dangers.

" Now time to add something to my clouds ". Simply letting them expand further now isn't the option since they're large now, so Zorian stops their expanding by rising the mountain in their way. Then, he notices a tiny, almost unnoticable island floating far from the mainland. " I'll do something to it, but later " He expands it a bit as a reminder to him.
