Done and done :)

Yeah, I never really found a need to use the shockwave pack, even though I found it early.  I imagine it's good for when you're surrounded and suddenly out of ammo.  It's also probably handy for melee runs.

Before him 34 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
 30 of those were killed.
And 3 couldn't handle the stress and committed a stupid suicide.

Some rumours though, say that the Cyberdemon was killed already!
Is he immortal? 1 souls claim to have killed him...
1 killed the bastard and survived.

Oh boy, oh boy I love the new assemblies.  After downloading the new version and coming off a year long DooMRL hiatus, I beat the game with an ammo chain build (ie easy mode).

After that, I turned to my true love - pistols.  At first I made a few guys going after MGK, but really EE and SoaB on top of SoaG are just way better in my opinion.  Furthermore, the speedloader pistols make reloading no problem, so one large benefit of MGK is taken care of right there.

I found a nuclear plasma rifle, which is one of my favorite weapons, but I never used it since I wanted to stick with pistols.  I never used the Anti-Freak Jackal (found in the Vaults) til Cybie, since I was wary of accidentally blowing up ammo and power ups.  I had trouble with armor until I found enough power mods to make my phase shift armor indestructible.  Nanofibre phaseshift turns out to be like Onyx armor without the movement penalty but with a knock pack penalty.  Given the knockback reduction on the tactical boots, it was a fair trade.

Didn't bother with Finesse/Whiz Kid this run.  The sniper mod is too rare, and I'm not a huge fan of the storm bolter, though it has its uses against Barons and Viles.

Finally, I found the hellwave pack... could that have cleared the mortuary, or was I right in staying out of there?

Staff of the Arch-Vile.

Resurrects a corpse of your choice within LoS.  Makes you tired.  The resurrected monster will fight other monsters, will not attack you, and will generally try to follow you/stick near you.  Will not follow you down the stairs.  You cannot give it commands.  Resurrecting a monster costs HP:
Former human, sgt, imp, demon: 5hp
Captain,  Cacodemon: 10 HP
Hellknight, Commando: 20 HP
Baron of Hell, Mancubus, Arachnotron: 50 HP
Arch-Viles, Pain Elementals, Revenants, Uniques:  Cannot be resurrected.

Max 3 slaves at a time per level.

Pick up Quote: Rise from your grave.

Requests For Features / A few random things

I started playing this game maybe last spring and just started playing the new version.  Great stuff, every single change has been for the better (I love the uniques).

What the game needs is a bit more diversity in, well, almost every regard.  I don't feel like entirely new things need to be happened, but that things that exist could be expanded upon.

For example, instead of always finding combat knives, you could occasionally find a serrated combat knife which would give it a bonus.  Or sawed off shotguns, for a really nasty surprise close range, but much less effective from afar.

But more importantly than items, you need monster variations.  Certain types of imps that are faster and better in close combat, Cacodemons that do less damage but spit multiple shots.

I think the level design is currently a pinch too simplistic.  It would be cool to have colored levers that are heavily guarded and required to open up certain parts of the level, or places totally inaccessible besides a heavily defended teleporter.

The last change I would advocate is the chance for a named unique monster the spawn in each level.  Like a special Imp called "Faust" for example with slightly better stats.  I'm pulling this from Diablo, where named monsters or champions have a posse.  I guess those are some suggestions for now.
