Ok - straaaange idea but ...
Angel of Bones (why the name? look below)
Every death in this mode has a chance to produce so called bones-level (i.e save of the level - the name was taken from dungeoncrawl ^^'). Every time you play inj this mode again there is an chance that when you enter the same level that you died on that instead of random level an bones level will be used - containig ghost of you (hostile) carrying the same equipment as you at time of death, and having the same traits.

Urgh ... what I wrote is barely readale - i hope thet youl be able to understand what I'm saying -_-'

I voted challenge modes because those will be fun,fun,FUN ... but I also need difficulty levels ... and I need them BADLY ^^'

Well I've got two noteworthy:

First one - level 2 with 0 kils:

 WTF?, level 1 soldier, killed by a imp
 on level 2 of the Phobos base.
 He survived 2270 turns and scored 225 points.

 He killed 0 out of 29 hellspawn. (0%)
 My, was he a wimpy chump.

  ToHit +0  ToDmg Ranged +0  ToDmg Melee +0

    Tough as nails (Level 1)

    [ Weapon     ]   pistol (2d4) [6/6]
    [c] [ Boots      ]   nothing

 He started his journey on the suface of Phobos.
 On level 2 he battled through a maze of rooms.
 There finally he was killed by a imp.

 Before him 46 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
 45 of those were killed.
 And 1 couldn't handle the stress and commited a stupid suicide.

And second - one more kill but 2 more levels ... >>

Yep! I suck ... been on levels where nice stuff (plasma rifle) appears only about 3-4 times ... seen Halls of Carnage ONCE .... and it was that time I had wierd game (got rocket launcher immiedatly at the next level ... in the room I started in IIRC ><)
Probably it is because I like using shotgun too much ^^'

Nope - this isn't the case ... but I think that this might have been an false alarm ... While checking your theory i remembered that my left speaker is almost dead ... It has been that way so long I forgot about it ... sorry for that ^^'

Nice ^^ I always liked knowing the mechanics of the games ... but I think that fastload effects should go to weapons instead of Minor spoilers

It's not much but the chainsaw souns most of the times isn't played (you hear only enemies punches instead)

Looking for some rougelike games I stumbled upon an information about CastlevaniaRL ... as a big fan of the series I wanted to take a look but the site for the game appears to be dead. So I have question - does anybody have this downloaded, and can share it?

I couldn't find a rocket launcher until level 15 (and I try not to explode any barrels unless I know there are no items in their radius), so I couldn't kill anyone in the Wall (but I did clean that level on the other game), and I couldn't go pass the locked doors at the Halls of Carnage, which meant no BGF for me in the whole game. In fact, I found a plasma rifle before the rocket launcher. Also, I didn't find any phase devices at all.

Strange ... I had VERY simmilar game just minutes ago - no phase devices, TONS of small med kits on some early level, 2-3 invulnerability globes on first level with hell knights, rocket launcher on almost empty level just after Halls of carnage ... this really creeped me out O.o
