I'd have to agree that going straight for Int(2) would be the best option. EE(2) makes chainguns fairly useable as a backup weapon early on. You've also got that handy little tech mod that you start with. A T1-shotgun (or chaingun) is actually a pretty useable weapon. As soon as your mastertrait comes online, dis-assemble it to get another random mod.

From the wiki:

This is what I was basing my assessment off - if you could turn mods into other mods with the trait then it would become a lot better. Are you sure this is the case?

Yup. Yup, I lost it when I saw the mother in law. I remember seeing that mortem the other day and boy, that was hilarious. If you can reliably make the mother in law then you're good to go. Time to try an Ao100 MSc run.

At least you're not trading in your mother-of-law. ;)

Does the dragonslayer work with MMB?

Also, looking through some of 2dev's mortems he mentioned that he could make a dragonslayer spawn on a certain level. Is the requirements for making it spawn limited to that level or is there a way to make it appear once per run or on a given floor or what?

Note that I asked if it can appear, not how. Shouldnt be too much of a spoiler, right?

Don't rely too much on radar shooting in mazes -- camp along an edge with preferably a chokepoint, then use WAIT for mobs to come into view.

Pretty much this. I find Mazes (without the barrel message anyway) to be one of the easier level types, especially with the hallways. You can simply pop in one of the edges and use it like a doorway then cornershoot your way to freedom.

You can also lure monsters one at a time by aggroing them with a radar shot and then going back to your safe corner and proceed to shoot them with impunity.

Can the Dragonslayer spawn on the Vaults?

I believe giftdropping now only applies to medipacks/phases and armor (if the monster in question doesn't already have armor equipped). That said, you can still use it to great effect at the start of AoMr with a small medipack and with the blue armor you start with from AoB.

Your suggestion about gift-dropping and groups did give me an interesting idea about using gift-dropping to lure *away* from you. I also didn't think about using barrels to damage monsters on AoB - Usually I just stay away from them.

Thanks for all the help!

I do use run, but on reflection I don't use it effectively enough - so i'll start there. Thank you.

As for the Angel of Death, I did it not too long ago on AoLT (But got bored and finished him off with the chainsaw), so i've got a good idea of what to do. The armor piercing knife was something I didn't think of, so thank you again.

It's okay, I just don't like offending people and causing fights, and try not to >_<

You do bring up a very valid point though about risk versus reward - as for UV Conq, I have a plan for that once I get past AoI.

And yeah, I didn't know that he shouted that either. Did he teleport next to you or anything like that?

Actually, I got my Marksman platinum a while ago - the only thing that I had to do was actually take the arena which I mostly skipped, and the extra exp from that made hell knights a joke.

Thanks for your tips! Masterless builds certainly are viable as well, i'm thinking of trying to use one for 100% Eagerness platinum.

And yeah, sometimes i'm aware that you just die - on one AoI run I spawned literally in the middle of a cacodemon cave - and with no powerups (and no phases due to being on AoI). And you just die.

What i'm asking in a nutshell, is what general tips can I get from people to minimize the impact of the RNG and maximize the impact of my skill as a player on these specific challenges/difficulties?

Oh yes, don't get me wrong. I enjoy all that kind of stuff even if it frustrates the hell out of me. However, i'm simply concerned with the balance of the trait itself.

If it's not broken, then don't fix it - but there's nothing wrong with discussing it to see what other people think.

I've mucked around with Dodgemaster on this challenge, but then I usually die right before getting to cybie. Guess it's a skill issue.

No need to get your back up or anything. I was just trying to show that the information was out there, I wasn't trying to offend you.

The inquisitor's set saves you from Cyberdemons, Viles, Revs, lava elementals and mancubi, just off the top of my head. That leaves you with Shamblers, Bruiser brothers, and arachnotrons - everything else should be trivial by that stage.

The shamblers and bruiser brothers will deal less average damage but more maximum damage to the inquisitor's set. I'm too lazy to do the maths on the arachnotrons, but i'm fairly certain just looking at the numbers that the Cerberus should be better against them unless the halving of armor takes malek's down to 2 instead of 1.

If you're confident enough to take on those 3 enemies without your Cerberus, then you should be right without it.
