Papilio probably have discovered conditions himself, but the DoomRL is opensource now so you can find out exact conditions any time if you really want.

Sure, I has been informed from the DoomRL source code which is now open.

Thereby, now it can be considered that the DevTeam opened all secrets to peoples-
so I say here conditions for wielding DS/BA:

Hellrunner and Dodgemaster is everthing to survive with.. in this game.
After you got infinite or semi-infinite armor, your run with Bladmaster will be straightforward.

Meleeing UV+ Mortuary is usually suicidal,
but with speed +45% and evasion +45% bonus with Hellrunner 3, nothing is hard to walk through.

Actually I completed most part of UV-Max project including this,
and Cateye UV-Max was done before more than one month ago, but I was too lazy so that post it now.

Nothing much to say, Cateye is arguably one of most easiest builds.. with Ammochain.
Eagle eye greatly synergies with Cateye, but I didn't use it, as Cateye scout is already extremely powerful without it.
Hyperblaster + Firestorm weapon pack + Son of bitch 3lv is brutal.

For MAD, whizkid is blocked;

weapon : Jackhammer (if possible), super shotgun(P) (if possible), assault shotgun(P) (if possible), tactical shotgun

armor : red armor(P), red armor(O) (if possible), powered red armor (= red armor+PN)
tower shield is simply a crap.

boots : plasteel boots(A)


Trait builds for MAD/MSs:

MAD : Rel-Rel-SM-Bad-TaN-MAD-TaN-Bad-(Iro or SoB, whatever you want)

MSs : SoG-SoG-SoG-EE-EE-EE-MSs-WK-WK-HR-HR-DM-SoG-SoG-HR-(whatever you want)




SoB is good for every type of weapons, but it is tended to be used for rapidfire weapon based build.

SoB for melee : useless (Bru1 is better than SoB3)
SoB for pistol : useless (SoG1 is better than SoB1)
SoB for shotguns : not bad, but not that worthy. 8d3+1 makes little difference between 8d3
SoB for rapidfire : great. SoB2 makes plasma rifle 1d7 (1~7) → 2+1d7 (3~9) for each shot

Kill monsters *only* with fist/blades awards you the Malicious Blades Cross. (and related strongman badges)
You can do this by just making a shotgun blast to cut demons' health and only just finishing them off with blades
(although it is not recommended as you can do unintended/mistaken shotgun kills).

Also, note that indirect killcounts depends on the weapon you wielded when monster died.
That is, if you were wielding a shotgun and a demon drowned to the lava rushing across to you,
then it counts as a shotgun kill.

Yes, you must 'survive' the nuke to achieve the killrate and level completion.

Also, nano pack is not guaranteed to be generated in Hell's Armory/Deimos Lab's reward.

Preparing enough speed to clear UC with MBD requires a lot of luck.

The only possible itemset would be chainsaw(T) + tactical armor(A) + tactical boots(A). (0.6s/mov w/o HR, 0.65s/atk w/ Fin2)
After MBD, you get WK2 at least lv11, and tactical armor/boots must be built afterwards,
so you must hold (at least 4) A-modpacks for very long period of time,
making inventory management disastrously difficult.

Nuking would be a cool alternative, but it also requires a lot of luck.
(you must find a T-bomb and inv glove nearby the entry to UC)



@What did you mean to get the 'key' in Hell's armory?
Opening the hatch and kill shambler? I thought I did that in the run.

"UV-Max" : Fully win the game in Ultra-Violence with 100% kills as a conqueror


After a bunch of failed trials to Bullet Dance UV-Max, I concluded that there are some master traits
of which are impossible to get UV-max, as clearing Unholy Cathedral without Berserk requires HR2+ and Fin1+.

So I gave up the original UV-Max project;
Now my upcoming UV-Max project will contain only possible master traits UV-max run.

Anyway, Ammochain is an extremely powerful build yet.

UV-Max : Fully win the game in Ultra-Violence with 100% kills as a Conqueror


My first mortem of UV-Max project - do the standard game UV-Max taking each master trait
(thus the whole project will contain 15 runs) - has done with unbelievable luck in item generation.

2 nano pack, 1 onyx pack, phaseshift armor, phaseshift boots
= cybernano phaseshift armor(A) + antigrav phseshift boots(A),
an ultimate set of speed making the doomguy's speed 0.16s/move w/o Hellrunner.

melee Mortuary is usually hard as f**k, (I always preferred Limbo)
so if your speed is not fast enough, make use of special attack of Azrael's Scythe.

"Inquisitor Diamond" : Win Angel of Purity on Nightmare! as a Marine

After bunch of failed tries of Intuition-less trait, I concluded that Int2 is the must-have,
as you can make your combat easier and take advantages of beneficial levers including MediTech depots.
Of course, the achievement requires doing the play as a Marine, so you cannot build Int2 directly from the beginning.

Recommended trait order is EE2-Int2-HR2-DM-TaN2-Fin2-HR3-TaN3-whatever...
Your doomguy will be very clumsy before building Int2+HR2,
so passing Phobos alive is over 60% of the challenge alike other tough Diamonds.
Anomaly is brutal as always, so you'd better prepare useful gears like phase devices/env suits.

Needless to say, corpse-destroyers (e.g. plasma shotguns, Anti-Freak Jackal, rocket launchers) are extremely useful in N!.
I was really really lucky to find the plasma shotgun in Hell's Armory.
Plasma shotgun not only serves as a corpse-destroyer; it is extremely powerful in combat as well - its own purpose.

The most crucial moment is when my health is 3% without the medpacks in Deimos 2..
Fortunately I saved my life thanks to the large medpack which appeared in the beginning of Deimos 3.

In the double vaults of Hell 2, I found 2 large+2 small medpacks -
and I had a hunch that I almost achieved the victory. Remaining run was quite straightforward.

Anyway, I got all diamonds purely after reset, except Technician/Armorer/Arena!!

Arena Diamond is grindy and grafty, it requires just crazy amount of luck...


My next DoomRL project is make standard game UV-perfect video (100% kill conqueror full win)
of each master trait (Vampyre, Bullet Dance, ...)..
So 20 more videos are in my further plan.

Actually, Ao666 is so boring.. I think the fastest way (in time) to blaze through Ao666 could be:

1. Select Scout and take Shottyhead build.
2. Assemble nanosharpnel super shotgun +P, nuclear biggest fucking gun +F (as a subweapon).
3. Just press f button over and over.
