Because finding Dragonslayer is such a pain. Would be cool if there was a level where you got it as a reward.
The level is all dark, like you played with the now obsolete Angel of Darkness. Demons spawn endlessly from the edges of your vision range. Beat them up and slaughter your way through to the end of the level, where your reward and the stairs down await.
(Of course, you'll still have to figure out how to wield the bloody thing. Also you'll get the Mark, but it's not like the demons didn't want you dead in the first place.)

Of course, since the Dragonslayer is from Berserk, you'd need to have a Berserk themed level, if this was to be implimented....:>

There is a very, VERY, slight breaker in this: a YAAM needs to be achievable (however insane - yes Dervis, Blade, I'm looking at you :P). An endless spawn makes this impossible. Perhaps a set limit, that's still really high? After all, an endless monster spawn makes anyone (but especially Berserkers with Chainsaws - or the LS depending on the floor it spawns on) able to max out their traits.

The main problem is - aside from the "pickup trigger" - the fact that DS is pretty much "I win" button, at least by Dervis' opinion. Right now it's balanced by it's rarenes and the fact that few know how to wield it - if it were to become a level reward it would need to be toned down, and don't know about you, but I'd rather not see that heppening :P

Maybe the level itself could spawn very rarely?
Also Femto as the end boss. (He will rape you. Literally.)

The level itself is an idea I can get behind, but no guaranteed Dragonslayer.
Maybe a random unique every time, but not the Dragonslayer.

I'd be against this because of principle. Manga-reference uniques as easter eggs is fine IMO but I wouldn't like DoomRL to turn into MangaRL with special levels. But maybe that's because I don't read mangas.
Tried watching the berserk anime though, but it was slow, boring and had weak combat scenes so I only made it through a couple of episodes.
Agree with raekuul in that a special level with a single random unique as reward might be fun.

Jarkko read the manga of berserk instead of the anime because the anime dont cover all the history

Indeed, Berserk kicks ass... and I'm only just past the Misty Valley part :D

On topic again now: Honestly I think there are enough special levels now. Actually it's a bit crowdy already (imo).

Oh, and it still wouldn't help, as you need to KNOW HOW TO PICK UP THE THING! :D
IIRC Dervis, Blade, Thomas, Malek, Me, and a few more know how to pick it up.

I know too. And I've only gotten like one opportunity to use it since I learned, and that was a whole year ago.
And I didn't get to wield it either. Sucks.
I play Ao100 often, and always with a melee build, in the off-chance I might run into it.

The dragonslayer is the win button because:
(1) you have to find it first.
(2) you can't pick it up unless you find it and have the right build set.
(3) it's ungodly powerful.
Taking away (1) and half of (2) by making it like the Loningus Spear in that it gets a level dedicated entirely to winning it means that it's only a matter of time before knowing how to wield it becomes the worst kept secret of DooM RL.
