I seem to remember somewhere that the ADoM team was working on a (massively?) multiplayer online roguelike in the vein of TomeNET or MAngband, but developed from the ground up for online multiplayer and with a subscription fee. I can't seem to find anything on the matter now via google though, so does anyone know if this is actually in development or if I just made it up?

Considering there is no "ADoM team", as adom is maintained by one person and one person only - Thomas Biskup - then I think you made it up, sorry.

After much mucking about the internet, I realized I was thinking of Jade (http://www.adom.de/jade/index.php3). I'm pretty sure when people were discussing online multiplayer roguelikes on the GameFAQs NetHack board that somebody claimed Jade would be available online and multiplayer for a subscription fee. Looks like that's not actually going to happen though, which is too bad.

BTW, you would be willing to pay a subscription fee for a roguelike? Then why not donate to the ones you like the best ;).

Every online roguelike I see only strengthens the opinion that it is not a good idea.

A word of advice: don't ever mention "Duke Nukem Forever" in relation to release dates, even as a joke, as it brings bad luck. I used to joke on my project's website:
Q: When is the expected release date?
A: As the creators of Duke Nukem Forever say: "When it's done" :)
...and now even my website is gone! So don't follow my error...

I currently can't donate over the internet because I'm 17, but I plan to donate like $50 when I turn 18.

Yeah, well, thats the same thing, or we can go ask TB's friends or something, about what he said a year ago...that doesnt go anywhere, he made a public statement, thats it.

As he did year before, and probably year befor the year before... seriously public statements are worth NOTHING Karry - what will count will be the actual date on which either GenRouge or JADE will physically appear.
